We left feeling so many emotions, but renewed, grateful and inspired were the strongest. Check in was simple. I was sent an extremely well laid out itinerary for checking in, what to expect during our stay, procedures, directions. They thought of everything. I didn't need to ask a single question. We stayed in the Pine cabin. I was booking 2 weeks in advance, so I had to take what was open and change my dates to stay during the week. Initially I had my sights set on the cabin with a screened in porch, but this sweet cabin was perfect for just the 2 of us. I can't say enough good things about our stay. The view from our little front porch, paired with the symphony of frogs, cicadas, and other wildlife was intoxicating. It was my favorite spot to eat breakfast, have my morning coffee, and then tea after lunch and dinner. It was still cool enough at night to open the windows and enjoy being sung to sleep by nature. Our private, large hot tub filled with mineral water from the hot springs was heaven on earth. It really did ease our achey joints and my skin seemed to love it. There's just enough of an opening in the trees above, in this secluded little haven, to be able to see the stars at night. I thoroughly enjoyed floating on my back, gazing at the stars at night. Then again in the morning, while the light, cool rain washed over the top of me. Everything about our stay was sensory heaven for me. The cabin was well stocked with what we may need. Very clean and cozy. By bringing our own bed linens and towels we saved $35 off of our cleaning fee. Cell service in the community is really spotty, so I was relieved to have wifi access in the cabin. For some reason, we figured out that we got the best connection on the couch by the patio doors. While we wanted to unplug for the week, we still needed to be able to check on our feral roommates that we call grandchildren. I hope my review inspires others to travel to Hot Springs. This community is still recovering from Hurricane Helene and could use our support. Everywhere we went, we were met with such friendliness and warmth. We heard several stories of resilience and of a community coming together for the greater good. They deserve more help than what they've received so far.

When securing the hot springs resort and spa, my "friend" wanted to book it late at night around 9 pm. I wasn't too fond of that idea since I wanted to view the scenery. Anyway, he changed the reservation time by phone. We went with the basic package for 60 minutes. Once we arrived, the parking lot was spacious. We went to check in and purchased some souvenirs that were a bit on the pricey side. An older gentleman who was nice walked us to our hot springs which was just a secluded hot tub near a free-flowing body of water. The hot tub temperatures were warm and not skin-burning hot, but it was perfect since it eased my tense and painful muscles that I had been temporarily suffering since the beginning of the week. I can't say if the water was real mineral water or not. I just wasn't expecting the hot springs to be a hot tub with jets. My expectations were much higher, as I had imagined like the ones in Colorado. I was hoping to nestle my body against some geological formations as I was engulfed in peace and relaxation.

We arrived on Monday and departed Friday to continue our vacation. We checked into a more "highly regarded" and more expensive B&B today. Already, we see many things at Bald Mountain House we do not find here. First, Monica is an amazing hostess, incredible chef (most amazing breakfasts ever!), and cares for her guests so well! It is the most peaceful and tranquil place we have ever stayed. The king Tempur-pedic in the Blue Ridge Suite was like being in our own bed at home, except the only sounds we heard was the flowing steam and singing birds. The cool mountain are allowed us to keep the windows open our entire stay, even when we turned on the AC for a cool sleep at night. The place smelled so fresh and was very clean (perfect 100 sanitation rating). There were always drinks stocked in the fridge and coffee and cookies available in the dining room. The tap water was soft and tasted as good as any bottled water. We enjoyed the many comfy chairs on the huge covered porch as we watched golden finches, hummingbirds, and other beautiful birds feast at the many feeders while we looked at the vast mountain range above the flower planter boxes. We were able to do some hiking on the infamous Appalachian Trail, including breathtaking views atop Big Bald mountain. Monica provided a lot of helpful information when we asked, especially regarding dinner ideas. While the owners were on site and available 24/7, we appreciated that unlike other places we have been they did not immerse themselves into their guests space! We hope to return again in the future!

Most being employees. will never be staying there again. Resupply is taxed at over 100% and sometimes closer to 200% in profits. Not satisfied and will NEVER return. camp across the street at the river and pay the $5 to shower if need be.

The Jonesborough B&B is a charming historic home just a short walk down the hill to Main Street, home of the Storytelling Capital of the World, and it genuinely feels like a place where stories live. The original hardwood floors creak as you walk, old books line the shelves, and even the cute tandem bicycle on the porch feels like it has stories of its own. We stayed in the master suite, which was comfortable, cozy, and full of character. One of our favorite thoughtful touches was the warming stones. Such a unique detail and incredibly comforting after a cold day of exploring. Placed under the covers near your feet, they warm the entire bed and make it unbelievably cozy. I think I am really going to miss those rocks . Breakfast was welcoming, warm, and wonderful. Clearly prepared with care . It felt homemade, relaxed, and personal. Exactly the kind of breakfast that invites you to linger and talk, which felt especially fitting in a town built on storytelling. One of the highlights of our stay was swapping stories with Brian. We loved hearing about his art, his travels, and his son's adventures abroad. Those conversations made the experience feel less like staying at a B&B and more like being welcomed into someone's home. One confession, if I may: we took lots of pictures because we plan to borrow Brian's style when we renovate our bath. We especially liked the twin sink vanity with lots of natural light from the windows. Pack a cooler and spend a weekend in the great outdoors. In town there is rafting, tubing, and the hot mineral springs. There are a couple of restaurants and pubs too. Although town is just 10 minutes away, once you get here you won't want to leave. Owners Ken and Amy are the most hospitable people you will ever meet. They start a campfire on Friday and nights at the main house and it doesn't go out til Monday morning. Bring your guitars and sit around with them, or have your own fire at your private cabin. The cabins are rustic and mountain themed. You will enjoy the silence of a night of camping with the luxuries of a bed, hot running water, electricity, and a nice shower. They even have sweet tea in the fridge for you when you arrive!
