Might have been a good attorney 15 yrs ago but I have serious concerns about his mental capacity…read more He never came to see me but once before my case and he failed to prepare me for sentencing all he did was try to cram his AA program beliefs down my throat he yelled at my 70 year old mother told me I didn't want to go to rehab because I wanted to go home and use and all I was telling him was that I would go after I went home to be with my family because my family is close and my aunt was terminal he was also extremely offensive telling me I could not have God in my life without AA first and I would be back in 6 mos. He did nothing to help my case and then he told me he was not going to represent me because I did not agree to go to rehab so he could get his kick back he didn't even remember I told him I was pregnant at the beginning of my incarceration and when he came to see me the last time 3 weeks before I got out the first words out of his mouth were "I can get u 14 months on the lower end of this plea deal..." I was like umm I've already been sentenced and I get out in three weeks then he asked me when I "thought" I was getting out . 10 yrs ago I thought he was a good attorney but he's obviously getting older and his mind isn't as sharp plus he seems like all he cares for is money . It sucks because I really thought at first he was a good person who cared.

All of this has been aweful, but I feel Joy did not take the time to understand my case, what I needed and she was difficult to get a hold of. I never knew what the next step was and I always had to request for her to start something, she would never suggest what I needed to do. Isn't that what a lawyer should do? Guide you? Desperately needed and I she to hear often about child support, but she never began any type of child support conversations with the courts. She responded "we will get to that later". I had to eventually hire a different lawyer because we were getting nowhere and he was already a few thousand dollars in arrears. When I did change lawyers, the office wouldn't send my file, so my new lawyer's office had to send a runner (which I paid for). I can go on. She's not cheap, so I expected much better results. I was very disappointed to put it lightly.

There was confidence in relying on a team that clearly knew what they were doing. They confirmed answers to my questions and requests to keep me out of trouble. I believe I lost due to his refusal to present ANY evidence to support my allegation. The paralegal is nice, but sucks at doing her job and wasn't prepared for the hearing nor did she prepare him. Edina Strum engages in unnecessarily protracted and vexatious litigation, prioritizing billable…read morehours over efficient case resolution. She frequently pursues immaterial issues, resulting in expanded hearings and prolonged judicial proceedings. Her courtroom demeanor appears hostile and abrasive, and her advocacy often seems unreasonably adversarial and overly emotional/enmeshed with clients. In my experience, retaining her may lead to significant delay, heightened conflict, and substantial financial expenditure rather than timely and effective resolution. For these reasons, and many others, I do not recommend this attorney. There is a reason this attorney has not been appointed as judge (not for lack of trying on her part). * Potential clients should find it very telling that the majority of Edina Strum's reviews are written by either "Anonymous", "Actual Client, name confidential", etc. In addition, it appears that one of Edina Strum's "clients" referred to as "Client, CMR (2025)" and also as "Charles" posted two very similar reviews.

It was disappointing after having such a great experience with Megan.
