Not more than 30 seconds later, the tech called my name, asked me the requisite questions, and got me set up with a gown. Then another person called me over to insert the IV for contrast. Both folks were very pleasant and personable, keeping light chatter throughout the process. The MRI tech was great as well, and she checked in throughout the scan to make sure I was okay and to tell me how much longer I had to go. Relative to other ED & urgent cares i felt the wait was minimal. They have lots of exam rooms, staff who are talented and multi-taskers make this an efficiently run UC. I worked for a hospital and my primary doc is also an urgent care in another city, I've waited 4x longer in those settings. I thought the care and time i received was very good. They have all that was needed for my assessments, xray, EKG, breathing treatments. Only thing i didn't clearly get one of the meds i requested but that was extra. The waiting room is large, so sickies weren't coughing on you. It wasnt that busy so it was comfortable. The doc or PA cant remember which, was thorough, explained things well and i didn't feel rushed. They give you your prescriptions to hand carry to a pharmacy. Went to a Wegmans which had a "special" if you never filled at that soecific store, each Rx up to 5, they give you $10 to use anywhere in the store, how awesome. Anyway i would recommend this location. The only thing they said i would have to go to an ED like Martha Jefferson Sentara if i got worse and needed IV antibiotics, so lets pray i don't want to do that review if i dont need to!

He is the nicest doctor I've ever encountered of any specialty, genuinely. He celebrates wins with you and is willing to see you as a unique patient. Even his staff has amazing things to say about him. On my last visit, I accidentally drove to the hospital rather than the Pantops location, which resulted in arriving late to my appointment. I felt terrible about it, but they were all soooo absurdly nice and still let me be seen, which I know is NOT the norm in medical practices. Overall, hopefully Dr. Reilley will remain my oncologist for the long haul.

From Jessica the scheduler, the intake nurse, Rachel, Kim, Caroline, and Dr. Reed. They are patient and I never feel rushed. I know if I wait a couple minutes for Dr. Reed it is because he is giving another patient the exact same high level of care. I drive 3 hours each way every 2 weeks and would drive further to get to this team. Dr. Reed answers every question, checks back to ensure I understand everything he says. Rachel always comes in after and ensures I understand and walks me out. I can't ask for better or more compassionate care. Once I found this cancer center, A load was taken off my shoulders and placed on my medical team. My job is to fight cancer, they not only join me in that fight but I feel they are shouldering the responsibility and I have complete faith in them. I'm a doctor (not medical) and Dr. Reed and Rachel treat me as an educated person, allow me a seat at the table for my treatment planning, and I cannot ask for more. I feel empowered in my treatment planning, and I cannot ask for more. This is the second Cancer Center I have been to. Hands down, the experience is night and day. Thank you for all that the entire UVA Cancer Team does to provide top notch care to every patient. I truly feel like I am the only patient the team has and during my time there, it is 100% about me, not blood test numbers.

I chose SW because I had a sports medicine background and knew that he had treated a lot of UVA athletes throughout his career. Honestly, Dr. Wagner himself did not give me a good first impression. I emphasized my two degrees in Kinesiology, assuming that I would not be spoken down to, but his overall tone was passively arrogant and abrasive in the majority of interactions I had with him. On most of the days that I have been seen by Dr. W rather than another chiropractor, I have not felt that my visits have been worth the cost in a relative sense, as he seems to only spend 90 seconds in the exam room with me, and his adjustment techniques are quite rough, even for someone who has had chiropractic for most of her life. Dr. Sterling on the other hand, is wonderful. He is polite, patient, and seems to place a great deal of focus on patient-provider relationships and comfort level of the patient, and when he is in the exam room, I generally feel like I am his only patient in that moment (which is how it should be), not on a conveyor belt of other patients waiting. Please note, I am a young adult who receives chiropractic for health maintenance and overall wellness, in addition to optimizing my biomechanics for long-distance running, so for someone who is fighting off an injury or has another clinically significant motive for receiving care, the content of this review might not be relevant, as fulfillment in one's experience may be more based on outcomes of range-of-motion and mobility in those cases. Also, I acknowledge that my care requires less time and intensity of efforts on the provider's end, and that I should not necessarily be prioritized in receiving their attention.
