Since this trip is 2 weeks along, no band for 2 weeks might set his treatment back a while. I called Hamer & Glassick Orthdontics about 40 minutes prior their closing time and inquired if we can buy a couple bags of the elastic band. They said sure, just came in. We arrived 10 minutes prior to closing time. Our son showed the dental assistant which type he needed. In 2 minutes, she came out with 4 bags of elastic band and sent us on our way. Yes, the bands were free... My logic is this: if they are this nice to strangers, just imagine how good they will treat you if you are paying customers....

He's a father of five, a Virginia boy, born and raised, and he loves the community. He's super talented, and geeks out on the latest technology like 3D printing and "Indirect Bonding" to not only deliver better results, but a more convenient experience with less visits (cuz who wants to make trips to the orthodontist all the time?). And not only that but he does it for less money than a lot of others in the area. I was surprised at how far in advance I needed to schedule an exam to see Dr. Al. The front desk had to schedule me for two different dates for the initial exam and x-rays and then the cleaning. However, my excellent hygienist, Rachel, very graciously fit me in for a cleaning on my first visit when I explained that having to find a sitter for my three toddlers is a challenge. She was the most through hygienist I've worked with, explaining each procedure she was doing, pulling up my x-rays and going through the images with me, and also explaining why I get tartar build up in certain areas of my mouth. I was very impressed with her and appreciative of her doing my cleaning (and I'm assuming going into her lunch break to accommodate me.) Dr. Al was friendly and efficient when he came in for the exam as well. We don't have dental insurance and I ended up signing up for their in house dental insurance plan which seemed reasonable and competitive. It also doesn't lock you into any sort of long term contract or payment plan so I don't need to worry should we end up moving or having dental coverage in the future. Very happy with this office and would recommend to others!

We were 6 minutes late for an appointment that was just to check for tooth movement - not even any orthodontic work - and the receptionist said we missed our appointment and they couldn't accommodate us. Our appt was only scheduled to be 5 minutes, and they couldn't even fit us in? But when they are late seeing us, it's not a problem. Scheduling is a pain because they aren't open in the main office every day. And the billing person submitted our initial treatment plan wrong and then, when I can't get reimbursed for $1200+, she acts like she doesn't have time to communicate with the insurance company. The bedside manner of the Doctor is also very odd and not child friendly.
