I hired Charlotte Epps-Stowers on 10/2/19 as a private investigator to retrieve documents, she asked for a certain amount of money, I gave her 3 times the amount asked for. Right after I paid her, she stopped returning phone calls, would not answer my calls and failed to produce the records I paid for her to retrieve. Over a 2 month time period, I made repeated attempts to contact her and to retrieve my money after ordering her to stop work and notifying her that she was fired. She refused to respond and continued to do work that was not authorized in order to justify keeping the money that I demanded she refund. In example, she charged me 23miles of travel to drive from Alameda to Berkeley which is only 8miles in true distance; this is total fabrication and fraud. In short she is unethical, non-responsive and a liar.
She used tricks to boost her income such as not telling potential client that her consultation must be paid for. She will sit in her office and talk to you for an hour to justify charging you $85hr without telling you that is what she is doing. She also claimed that she informed me of her billing fees and she did not. I never received a contract, I never received any work product and she made several promises that she did not keep. All of the work that she did was useless and not requested.
Do not trust her for any job, investigations or your money, she is dirty and lies like Donald Trump, don't use her, we have to sue her just to get our money back. She sent us one invoice that stated that we owed her $2100 but when we challenged the charges billed she told us "not to pay attention to the dollar amount focus on the detail" all of which showed that she was doing work that we did not ask for and had instructed her not to do. Her invoice was fraudulent she was clearly guilty of padding her invoice to justify keeping my money.
Then she stated she would send us a new invoice which she did that was for a lessor amount and stated that she would send us a refund of $200 out of the $2000 we paid stating that she would have given a full refund based on principal but since we called and harassed her about our money she was not going to refund the full amount. If you can't see that this is a dirty unethical person that should not be trusted in any form, you are stupid and I advise you to ahead and hire her so that you can get ripped off.
As of 12/23/19 although I was not happy with her services, I did not have to file a lawsuit since she did the right thing and ended up refunding me the majority of my money ($1500) which I respect and appreciated. read more
