I'm a new Customer at Charlie's Chop Shop... When I walked in, the shop looked amazing, I love the big Bruce Lee Painting on the wall, Very creative. I've gotten my hair cut Twice at Charlie's Chop Shop, both Gina and Charlie have attended me very well, and I really appreciated their professionalism. Great barbers and gave my hair cut just the way I requested.. They work in a great pace because I didn't have to wait long, I was in and out. The best part of the shop is the catchy, creative scenery and the environment, very clean, friendly barbers. Great supplies... Paid $30 dollars to get an uneven fade. The shop was originally supposed to be closed because it was a Sunday but "luckily" there was a barber taking walk ins. However, his technique with cutting long hair was very inadequate and on top of that he was constantly distracted by a woman in the shop. I should have known not to trust that man with the type of hairstyle that was requested. Came back maybe two minutes after for a fix-up but the shop was immediately closed with the blinds drawn. read more

Great customer service & skilled barbers! No matter whom you choose you'll walk out of there looking fresh. I have been coming here for years and I wouldn't trade them for any other shop. Charlie always takes time to make the cuts look amazing. Conversations with the guys are always fun. The vibe is always friendly. A typical day could range from casual hip hop music bumping in the background, to rock. I constantly enjoy coming here week after week. read more

Charlie is a really skilled barber. Makes sure your fade is fresh and crisp. Really good at lining up the beards and getting the smallest hair & doesn't miss a spot. Horrible service and none of the employees wore masks. They made a teenage boy cut my hair and he didn't even have all the necessary tools nor did he know how to give me the style I wanted. He had to ask two different workers for help. It was a waste of my money and time. Never going again read more

This place had top of the line customer service from start to finish. I took my son her this past weekend. And asked if they do African-American hair, and the owner said absolutely . He was the young tall man with a lot of tattoos . He did a awesome job and made my son feel comfortable. Because he can be rather shy. Once his haircut was done he looked in the mirror and had a big smile on his face from ear to ear. And said mommy I love my haircut and the cool guy who did it with all the tattoos. So if my sons happy I'm happy .We definitely will be returning in 2 weeks . I don't know if the owner knows it but he has gain a loyal customer from here on out. read more

Went in the other day in serious need of a new haircut. The shop opened exactly when it said it was. I got my hair cut by Charlie himself. Good dude and he does good work. Good: -The hair cut was only $15 and I didn't have to wait since I was the first one here. -Nice looking barber shop -Lots of TV's Bad: -parking (but you can park at Tacos Gavilán next door) I would go here again. read more

Gina, and Charlie always leave my boys looking even more handsome. They both have given good haircuts to my special needs, and have the patience for him. They are really good people, and fun to chat with. My oldest loves Gina, and doesn't let no one else cut his hair but her or Charlie. Asked the girl for a trim. She asked if i wanted a 1 or 2 on the side. I said, "No, i dont want clippers on the side. Can you just use scissors to trim it?." She replied, "I can do a number 3." Everything that happened afterwards is my fault because i should have left at that point. The hair cut took 50 minutes. She cut it way too short and way too high. She might have been distracted because she kept talking to another barber and turning her head, while using the clippers on me! When i got home and got a closer look I was even more disappointed. I literally took a pair of scissors and fixed (or, tried to) what she had done. I havent been this dissapointed in a haircut since I got an accidental flat top in middle school. I guess this is a really good place if you're looking for a fade or something similar but not if you're looking for actual hair "styling" or a scissor haircut. read more

Who knew the city of Bell was known for having a great barbershop, just thought it was a place were corrupt politicians can call home. Well back to this review that's long overdue, I originally came to this shop from my coworker constantly hounding me about this shop, so I finally got around to getting a cut from his barber Joe. I definitely have to recommend you try this place out, call ahead and ask for joe, he truly is a man of his craft. As soon as you sit in that chair just explain what you want done and trust me, he will not disappoint you, I've gotten so many compliments from people trying to find out where I get my haircut and now you can look fresh too. read more

This is the kind of shop I wished where closer to where I live. It's always nice to have a shop with so much history. After much yelping for a good barbershop, I finally got the opportunity to take my sons here. We were greeted by Charlie and Victor. I cannot tell you enough good things about this shop! If you've been coming to the same barber shop for 10+ years then that must say something. Charlie, the main man behind my haircuts, knows exactly what he's doing. Everytime I wanna switch it up, he always executes. I must also agree that thee other barbers, hands down give amazing haircuts. I always let them cut my hair whenever Charlie can't make it in. Preface: I worked in the city of Bell for about three years and went to various barbershops during that time. Tried Chavalos, Filthy Cuts, and other hole in wall joints BUT I always go back Charlie's Chop Shop even though I don't work in the area anymore. Cost and Quality: Regular haircuts are $15. Appointments $20. Most places in the area are in the same price range ($10 to $15). Little higher than most but I think it's a fair price considering the quality. I usually get low fades and tapers and I'm never disappointed. Cuts are always clean and on point. Some of the barbers even use straight razors and do amazing work and they still only charge $15. Time and waiting: If you plan on doing a walk-in, expect to wait. The shop usually has a lot of clients and they take their time cutting hair but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I've gone to places where I'm in and out in 20 minutes with a cheap cut. At Charlie's, I've waited from 30 minutes to an hour for a seat before and my cuts are about 30-50 minutes. Personally, I don't mind waiting but if it's an issue for you, make an appointment. It is $5 more and you don't have to deal with the wait. I'll end it with this. Charlie's Chop Shop does amazing work and the barbers are always cool and down to earth people. If you want a "decent" haircut, you have tons of options BUT if you want a great haircut, then Charlie's Chop Shop is the place to go. read more

I went there today and had the best experience ever. I got my haircut by a guy who referred to himself as TeddyBoy Greg Edwardian Barber. Well let me tell you TeddyBoy Greg Edwardian Barber is a character, he can be easily spotted when you walk into the shop. Just look for the guy with the cyclone popsicle tattooed on his nose, asking you about 15 times if you like his tattoos. (He does have a very nice portrait of Patrick Swayze tattooed on his neck) While getting my fade done, TeddyBoy Greg Edwardian Barber kept me entertained with his silly stories from his love of sucking on toes, to being a Ted. (To be honest I thought his name was Ted) apparently its some sort of lifestyle in which you dress up like colonel sanders and listen to rock n roll, to fucking TheB9? (I think its some sort of female rapper) About 15 minutes into my haircut the talk got serious, turns out TeddyBoy Greg Edwardian Barber had some personal demons a nasty crack and herione addiction. He then proceeded to ask if I knew a spot where he could score some. Luckily I knew a guy down by the LA Mission in which I traded one rock for this hair cut! I've known of this barber shop for years ..back in the day when I used to get faded up two times a week by this tatted up buff guy char... since then alot has changed I now rock the dreads and wont let a pair of scissors near my dome ,how ever the next generation (my son) is at that age where looks and style are as important as a stable good place of employment is for us adults and I gotta say from San bernardino to Bell Charlie and co. at charlies chop shop are definitely at the the top of full service barber shops ...My son is very picky about his hair almost too picky but one thing is for sure he would rather wait for the weekend when he comes and stays with me to get his hair done up ... with barber shops in every shopping center in san berdoo where he lives he says that charlies chop shop stands alone as the best in all area's of criteria, best bald taper to best fohawk and everything else in between.. the atmosphere is always kept clean with positive vibes and no drama as the norm... read more

Charlie's Chop Shop currently has the most professional crew that I have seen in recent years. From what I've seen, everyone is always welcomed and they really take the time to make sure you leave with what you want. If you're looking for a place that is urban and knows the latest trends yet is still affordable, I would recommend checking it out. You can trust that their going to use the best products and know how to do the latest styles. My boyfriend has been going there for some time now and is a loyal customer after having his hair cut by the owner. What I like is that this barber shop does a lot within the community and continues to improve its customer service and innovate with their equipment and brands used. Overall, a thumbs up! read more

For one I'm a very picky person for everything and believe me my hair is one of the top 5. Looked around for a while till I finally went to Charlie's chopshop. At first was effy about it and wasn't sure if they would do a good job. Asked who was good and everyone had their personal favorite barber. I decided to choose the scary buff bald guy haha and ended up being the owner of the shop. Told him how I wanted my hair and BOOM! I left one happy mother fucker lol since then I've been going to Charlie's for about 2 years and a half. Even the days I go and Charlie isn't there I just come back another day. This is the spot. If you are looking for a taper or a good fade. Say no more! Charlie a.k.a. the big boss has been holding it down for over 26 years if that doesn't mean anything then I don't know what to say. Gina aka the boss lady is no joke. She goes toe to toe with any male barber around the area without a question. And victor aka the quite one is no sleeper at all. He be knocking out fades after fades without Lowering his standards so just lay back and enjoy your haircut. Recommended for the family type individual. Music choice upon request- overall cool music playing. Weed smoking free environment. No need to worry about your kids smelling that sticky icky. Plenty of free parking in the back. read more

I started Getting my cuts at Charlie's around 2012 Atleast once a week for a couple years up until I moved away, Now that I moved back to the area I decided to check them out again after years of jumping around from barber shop to barber shop with no luck, until I stepped back into Charlie's chop shop, immediately felt comfortable thanks to the good vibes in the shop, Met his wife gina, who's mainly been cutting my hair since started coming back. I got no issue trusting who ever is available is available out of the 4 barbers to cut me up because of how much faith I have in this place. Definitely worth stopping by anytime you're looking for a haircut or even teeth whitening. read more

This place is down. They are very friendly and professional. Been here twice. First time I was very satisfied with the results the home boy Charlie knows his craft. My second visit was even more memorable. I was not a loyal customer and sought out an other shop cause of the time and I found one close by. Went there and was left feeling uneasy. They didn't fade my hair right so I chopped it off. Long story short went back to Charlie's and one of the other barbers hooked it up big time. They saved me from embarrassment. I went there two days ago at 2PM. Worst experience ever. I asked for low and dark, fade in the back, taper the sides. Thin sideburns.This goofnugget with a bouffant and crayon drawings on his face proceeded to cut my hair without a gurad in an attempt to look cool.Unfortunately, he cut it so unevenly that to even it out, he had to shave my hair uniformly down to near baldness. Worse, the whole while, he talked (thus competing with the rap music blasting through the speakers) about his clothes, his tattoos, and his women. I do not think speaking of one's personal hedonistic indulgences is very professional, even for a hood shop. read more

I went in sometime last week and got my haircut by a man calling himself "Teddy Boy", he had a number of odd tattoos. While cutting my hair, he pulls out his phone and starts filming the process (I didn't agree to this) He starts claiming that he's the best barbering man in the whole of California, I ask him to stop with the filming and he says that I've got to stop "Harrington" and to drink all of his cumm. Not long after this, something catches his eye outside, he rushes to the entrance of the shop and wolf whistles at a passing Mexican woman, and shouts "SHOW THEM FEET" I left after this. read more

Charlie's Chop Shop is as good as it gets. All of the barbers at the shop are very precise when cutting customers' hair. The barbers are very friendly, and the atmosphere is always filled with humor brought on by customer/barber interaction. My barber Charlie has been cutting my hair every Saturday for about a year, and I have yet to disappointed with my haircuts. The shop also seems to be very well kept up. Cable TV, sports/clothing magazines, and music are all generously provided for the customers of the shop. This is a great barbershop. 5-star rating and nothing lower. read more

This place has a great chill vibe, always playing old school music which is great! I cut my hair with Gina, she is amazing & quick! Great conversations here & the rest of the barbers also cut hair really good! I always leave satisfied & feel like a new man when I get my hair cut. I been going to the Chop Shop for almost 3yrs now and Rocky has always cut my hair. He does a great fade and a clean shave. The atmosphere is great, Charlie and Ray and hilarious. There's always something to talk about at the Chop Shop, sports, music, you name it. I recommend this place to my brother and my friends and they have been returning customers ever since. This is the spot to go to, everyone is professional and I personally never have to wait long. My brother has been going there and I saw his haircut and it looked awesome he told me he gets it cut with victor or charlie both which do an awesome job in my opinion, but Gina is my go to girl and don't knock her just cuz she's a female barber give her that chance and I guarantee you won't regret it she makes my hair look amazing especially cuz I have difficult hair but overall that's my spot to go to and I highly recommend it. read more

So I went to this barber shop and the first this i did not like was all of the barbers were smoking in the back and drinking while cuting peoples hair. the whole place smelled like weed and beer. it also was messy and unprofessional shop. i was gonna cut it with charlie but i did not like how he was cutting his clients hair. so i decided to go with this girl i think her name was kerms. she completely messed my haircut up , then to top it off i find out she has no license. after having many bad experiences in barbershops in Bell, i got to say this is the best barbershop in town i was recommended by a friend and from now on this is my new spot, my barbers name is victor he is a great detailed barber he hooks it up with his fades, I recommend him if you want a fresh fade. I am never disappointed when I visit my boy Joe. Hands down the best cuts around. Joe is a professional and not like these so called barbers. He actually knows how to use scissors. Joe is a master barber. Joe is great with with kids. I always take my son with me and he knows how to handle him. My kid got his first cut with Joe and he will be a lifer. at first im not the kind of person that likes to walk into a barber full of people, but the ambient in this place is so friendly. The owner at first looks like one of those guys who you just dont want any problems with, let alone speak to him, but he is one hell of a man! he isnt like many barbershops out there, he actually cares about his customers. Its really hard for me to trust just anyone with my hair, because i only cut it once every two months, but i know that i am in good hands with these guys! read more

This is my 3rd Review for this place. 3rd review. IronBarber always took care of me but because of deadlines, I had to get the job done now. Now comes in Charlie, the man. He lets me plug in my latest EDM mix in the shop, I seen a little girl sing along to my mix and that's when I realized, this place is amazing. I believe in loyalty.
