They play Christian music, the admission is only $4 a person, and the skate rental is free. Wednesday nights admission is $3 and skate rental is only $2. The place is super affordable! Weekends are more expensive, like $10 total per person, however they do have a family deal where if you have 4 or more people, each skater gets a free popcorn and drink. Other than skating, they have a concession stand, and they even sold slices of pizza from a restaurant, I forget which. They have tons of tables, which is really nice. They also have some arcade games, 2 of which are claw machines where you are guaranteed to be a winner of either candy, or rubber ducks/animals. My kids loved that. Where you rent skates they also rent out skate walkers for beginner kids, and they sell glow necklaces which my kids just had to have. They played a couple of skating games as well. My kids were begging to return the very next day, even though their legs hurt, which is a sign of good exercise. They also slept great that night. Win! I will for sure start going once or twice a month with the kiddos. I'm happy to have something new and fun to do with them.

Took my grandkids for something different to do. Prices were reasonable. Side note - cash only…read more Floor was smooth. Would definitely recommend and plan to go again. Great for birthday parties are just skating

we rented out the Richmond Skate Center & Recreational Building and overall had a amazing time when…read morewe entered I was told we can "request songs" and "select from there playlist" everyone was having a great time given the floor was difficult to skate on due to being dirty or sticky idk I'm not floor people. We had set a playlist (Barbie) and requested 2 songs (cha cha slide, and a slow skate song) when my kid was told we was "out of skips" I said there was nothing like this mentioned in our contract so I told them to go request our last song as skaters come in to do cake and gifts "girls just wanna have fun!" As the song was ending a young adult approaches me to tell me that she can't keep running back and forth to the do booth and if we wanted to plug up our phone we can I said "ok I didn't see that in the contact and it was looked over by a lawyer (my husband) so I understood what I had signed, but that was the last song anyways it's 215 we're going to open gifts" then moved along... party ended at 3 We're opening gifts when this woman shows up I smile big at her to just be kind and she says come here very loud! for the last 30 min of my kids opening gifts she was causing a scene I didn't get to enjoy my kids opening gifts or even say goodbye to my guest because she wanted me to know it was a "waiver not a contract‍ " and her 19year old child felt attacked when I mentioned lawyer and how I pay for the facility, not the staff" reading reviews I already knew this woman was a miserable human and just extremely argumentative so I just agreed and tried to be kind. Telling her that that "waiver" with the deposit is a contract. However after ending her outburst she proceeded to stomp around my guest rushing clean up with the most constipated look on her face. Making everyone feel they needed to leave before even my party end time! I considered messaging her to request a refund based on her outburst and her taking 30 min of my time but she seemed very pressed for money! Let's all just learn from my mistake and not book this place!

After a recent run-in with one of the owners, I will not be going back and would not recommend this…read moreskating rink to others. She was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and attempted to intimidate me in front of the other party guests. It's definitely worth the drive to Berea or Lexington for a more pleasant experience.

First, the bad: As a recreation center for adults, it's not…read moregreat. The fitness room is small and contains a handful of weights, ellipticals, treadmills and bikes that have seen better days. If you're looking for a replacement for your Urban Fitness membership, look elsewhere. But... The good: First, THEY HAVE AN AMAZING ROLLERSKATING RINK. Seriously, this thing is so 70s, but in a cool retro way (not in an outdated way) - I'm talking a disco ball, primary colors and everything. It's totally underutilized - they have tons of adult skates and a projector to throw videos on the blank wall in the rink...you could really pull together an awesome event in the space. Secondly, adult memberships are crazy cheap. Adult memberships are only $25 for a whole year and apply to all 26 Cincinnati Rec Centers and most city pools. Plus, all the money directly benefits the greater OTR community. I mean, as a community resource, it's invaluable. They provide a safe environment for kids in the neighborhood - they offer a drop-in after school program, field trips, a game room and extracurricular classes for kids ages 5-18. The thing is, even if you don't have a particular interest in using the resources, buying a membership sends a clear message that you support that these recreation opportunities remain strong and viable in as many places as possible. On the other hand, if memberships go down, it sends a message to the city and the City Council that their services are not valued and therefore puts the center's budget higher up on the chopping block.

Who knew there was a rollerskating rink in the middle of OTR? Here I thought those only existed in…read morethe 'burbs! Even more impressive, the skating rink here is in much better condition than the more notable places in the area. The skates are made from plastic and come in bright neon colors. Elsewhere you're stuck with dingy suede skates. During Final Fridays, the rec center opens its doors to all adults for three hours of roller skating for only $2.00, which includes skate rental. http://www.yelp.com/biz/otr-skate-cincinnati Tired of skating? Just head out to the lounge for some pool or ping pong. There are rooms with couches and televisions, as well as your traditional gym equipment. Membership to the OTR Rec Center is $25.00 a year, and applies to all 26 Rec Centers in Cincinnati, as well as the city pools. The money goes right back into the OTR community, which keeps the rec center open to provide after-school opportunities to youth. The OTR Rec Center is tucked away on Republic Street, which is near Findlay Market's Race Street entrance. If you're looking for a great place to stay active, or more so, to rollerskate, OTR Rec Center has you covered!
