The staff at First Hope is an example of a small community bank with a focus on CUSTOMER SERVICE which all the big banks forgot about on their journey to maximize profits. I would like to praise my experience with Jenifer and her LoanDepot team. As a first-time home…read morebuyer, I reached out to NJHMFA Homebuyer Referrals HBReferrals@njhmfa.gov for recommendations. They provided a short list of lenders participating in the program in Bergen county, NJ. Jenifer was one of them. I also researched reputable lenders and filled out some short applications with a few clicks. Jenifer was the first one to reach out to me. Her name was on the recommended list. The stars aligned! Her voice was soothing and patient. She did not rush through her answers to my questions and explained everything thoroughly. Easy web-based application (as it should be in the 21st century), and documentation exchange and e-signing followed. Under the pressure of my friends, I briefly checked out other lenders, but not only they quoted a higher interest rate, but I also felt the sales pressure from a banking giant or two. I was happy to return to my first choice with Jenifer. Jenifer explained to me the housing market history and current conditions, prospects for the future, and provided statistical data on "the cost of waiting" as well as personalized charts outlining the benefits of home ownership.  I entered one contract and got out after a low appraisal. I learned so much from Jenifer and her team. Eventually, my ideal home found me, and I closed on the last day of my rate lock. The LoanDepot team acted very professionally and patiently and held my hand all the way to the finish line.  I highly recommend Jenifer and her team to my friends. I will return to LoanDepot for my next real estate project and for refinancing once the rates go down. Sincerely, Maryana

Jen Brennan was nothing short of amazing to work with on the purchase of our (now) home. The…read morehousing market is historically difficult for buyers right now and Jen helped us navigate this volatile market so expertly and patiently. She was always available - no matter the hour to answer a question or hustle to pull together paperwork, which is so critical to compete in the current housing market and super thorough but clear with explaining nuances around lending. She was proactive, putting together projections of how homes we were interested in would add or lose value over time. But best of all is how quick she was to think outside the box and get real creative in how we could use our homebuying budget and also working in tandem with our agent to structure bids. It was thanks to some real creative strategies that she helped us get our home - which was not easy. Jen is awesome to work with, and if you're buying a new home and need a lender - she should be the first person you get in touch with.

They said they had NO record of me leaving copies of birth certificate, SS #, ID, W-2s, etc. I went to the location to find out what was going on. They had misplaced the info & implied I never left it. They (including the so called manager) were rude and uncaring that they had lost information that could be used in identity theft. They made jokes about me, laughing loudly in front of other customers. I was very angry. Finally after a delay, the manager came strolling out with the folder of tax information. I asked if they had prepared the taxes & her answer was, "No". Instead of apologizing, she said in a very snotty voice, "Have a nice day", very clearly meaning the opposite. I was so angry I told her to kiss my ass! The response to this was, "You ain't got no ass! You look like Spongebob Squarepants! I've NEVER encountered such an inept, rude, uncaring, and unprofessional bunch of people in my life. I'm probably lucky they didn't prepare my taxes (which is only their JOB!). If they prepare taxes the way they handle customer service, I can't imagine they are accurate in what they do. I would like to give them negative stars for a slipshod work ethic. How can they be trusted to handle anyone's finances when they don't understand that me leaving with what would have been a guaranteed fee could ultimately affect their salaries. I will NEVER go their again. I WILL advise everyone I know NOT to go there!
