THING. since this has happened exacerbating my problems & headaches & costing me more money. They said they would allow certain automatic payments to post that I allowed-- they never even notated my account about it! I go in person-- tell them the same thing & they agree to let certain payments go through-- then they sent them back. I got charged fees on all ends from all kinds of companies it has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. I spoke with Brian from customer service who told me to contact him personally if there were any more issues. Well I have been trying to get in touch with him ever since- I keep being told he is not in or he will call me back and he never does. Rockland Trust isn't going to magically put money into your account to cover the fees that you're charged from other companies from them dropping the ball. It's oops and sorry now you eat it. I literally can only deal with so much in a day because there are only so many hours & I can only handle so much. I cry every day I have to deal with this. And it just never ends. This was almost two months ago & I am still dealing with this constantly. I would switch banks now but I AM NOT GOING THROUGH THIS AGAIN SWITCHING EVERYTHING OVER! But you can prevent this by going to another bank now.

I decided to try rockland trust and Jamar was more than happy to help. He had to finish up some things and apologized, though there was no need to as he was doing me the favor! Very polite and when he noticed that the documents were related to my father's passing, he expressed his condolences. I needed more documents notarized a couple of moments later and the woman who helped me (I believe she was the branch manager) showed the same level of professionalism. I'm not ready to switch (or add) a bank yet, but when I do, rockland trust is going to be it!

I used their ATM, paid the $3 fee to take out money, wanting to get a coffee after I was done! and then went inside intent to open a new account, but first walked up to the teller window to ask if they could break one of my $20's. They refused. They said, "we can't break bills nor give you change unless you have an account here." The people behind the teller window then started laughing. I told them I just paid them $3, at the least I was entitled to break a $20 there. He said, "it's against bank policy I cannot do it." I replied, "you can do it, you're just choosing not to." He said, "nope, can't do it for you." I told him it was ridiculous, a stupid policy, and he was being a jerk for being snarky and laughing at me when I was about to open up an account with them. I turned to leave and the tellers behind the counter all chimed in, sarcastic tone, "byyyyyyyyeeeee!!!!!!" I told them to "F***k Off," a justified reply to their insults and sarcasm and dumb policies. I will never open an account with them, do business with them, nor use an ATM with them. Terrible business model.

Calling customer service -- either "Cardholder Services" OR "Member Services" -- results in a loop of infinite runaround and promises of callbacks "within 1-2 business days"... that just never happen. When their service representatives can't resolve an issue, they often resort to "someone will get back to you in 1-2 business days." I've had this happen to me several times and I have sometimes missed callbacks (other times I'm not sure if they actually called me back). This is very inconvenient and frustrating and should not be part of their standard business operation. Recently, I did a balance transfer online after speaking with a person on the phone to confirm the terms for balance transferring. When I received my statement two weeks later, I saw that they charged me additional interest on top of the transfer fee. They categorized the transfer as a "cash advance" and they are charging me the high monthly interest. When I called in, they agreed with me that this was an error but they could not resolve the issue. They, instead, directed me to their Member Services Dept and I was told that they would get back to me in 1-2 days... I would not recommend this card. Their customer service department is unpleasant to deal with. Their website is clunky... If they are serious about enhancing their company (as it seems they are trying to do from their efforts via newsletters and revamping their website), they need to focus on quality customer service and make having this alumni credit card meaningful and beneficial.
