We dropped in on a Sunday evening (around 7:45pm) and the place was busy. People waiting for takeout burgers but also people eating in and on the patio. Service is friendly. You order at the counter, get a number and then your food is brought to your table. The menu is up behind the counter but they also have menus if you dine in. It's all burgers; beef, lamb, chicken, chicken schnitzel and veggie. There's also three salad options, kids menu, sides and drinks. - Beer battered onion rings ($6.00 AUD) - sadly, they were out of sweet potato chips so we got a bowl of onion rings instead. Luckily, these were cooked just the way we like 'em; deep fried and greasy. Share 'em. - Golden crumb schnitzel (#16) ($15.00 AUD) - chicken schnitzel, cheddar, caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, BBQ sauce and soul mayo. A tad heavy on the mayo but everything else was great. Chicken was tender with good seasoning and well breaded. A more standard burger (ingredient wise) but well executed. - Mind body & soul (#18) ($15.50) - premium quality veggie burger with sweet chili sauce, beetroot, semi-dried tomatoes, grated carrot, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and satay sauce. Beets and avocado were tasty. This very well might be one of the best veggie burgers we've had! Great flavours. An excellent burger spot! Huge and flavourful burgers. Not sure what else you can ask for.

We arrived around 5:45PM and quite a few tables were already seated. We got a table for two in the main room with the majority of diners. We were going to order pizza but as the pasta dishes kept passing by our minds quickly changed. We ordered Lasagna with meat sauce and Bolognese with fettuccine. Had to ask for spaghetti to be changed to fettuccine and since it was early and they weren't totally slammed the chef said ok. What a treat. The food arrived and we could have easily shared one of the dishes. Both dishes were beautiful and the tastes could not have been better. The lasagna was maybe the best we have ever had. And the bolognese awesome. But it was the homemade pasta that made us think so highly of La Cantina. Needless to say we did not have enough room for dessert. When we got up to pay the restaurant was totally packed. Glad we got there early as e didn't have a booking. Highly recommend you call ahead for this gem. Staff was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely return.

Probably the best pizza you can buy in Launceston…read more The dough is really tasty, the toppings are delicious and the cheese tastes like pure mozzarella not a blend like Dominos or Pizza Hut would use. Prices are fair considering you get a well topped pizza. The amount of grease you see on the pizza box is kind of expected but I have had a friend say it was way too greasy but I think he forgets its takeaway pizza not a restaurant pizza in Italy or something. Staff are a bit quiet on the phone, but maybe they are just unaware their phones mic is quiet so I don't know. Their delivery range leaves a bit to be desired as I live in Blackstone Heights and they won't deliver that far, but will deliver to the casino. I mean Dominos does it so I'm sure you could squeeze it in. Very nice anyway

Unexpectedly, they had a salad bar (all you can eat) which was a great way to start the meal. With several lettuce salads to choose from, olives, fresh tomatoes, apples, beets, etc, I found so many ingredients to make my salad just what I liked. For dinner, I chose the small rump which was like a 6-7oz ribeye. It was cooked perfectly to my specification. It came with roasted potatoes. The steak and potatoes were delicious. With the salad, it was a pert combo. Parking is on the street. We got a spot right in front of the place. Parking is free after 5:30pm so that was convenient.
