Felt like my hair didn't look any different when I left than it did when I got there. No one even noticed I got my hair done it was such a subtle change despite me saying I wanted to go much lighter. I also didn't like that their shop said it would cost a certain amount and I was charged DOUBLE that. I get that I have a lot of hair and use more product so I knew it would be slightly more. But I think if you're doubling the cost you should at least let the customer know ahead of time. Probably wouldn't come back. Attached before and after photos to see the minimal change.

I see Dr. Anna for general wellness and for issues that come up as a result of day-to-day life, illness, musician injuries, and as a compliment (and assist) to my yoga practice and business. I have sent my yoga students (and their babies!) to her to assist with prenatal and postnatal challenges and also have recommended her to many friends and family so she could help them reduce and remedy chronic pain. I have always been nervous about and around medicine and doctors. From the first appointment, I felt like Dr. Anna truly listened to my concerns and made sure to address and discuss each one thoroughly, plan a course of treatment, and then provide follow up instructions. I have left every appointment with a better knowledge of my body and how to live and move in such a way that I feel better. After a recent accident, I was experiencing lower back pain in a way that made sleeping and standing for long times a real challenge - I made an appointment and the improvement was instant and marked. Also, I am a musician and have dealt with TMJ for years: Dr. Anna has worked with my and with my body in such a way that I can now make music pain and tension free when in the past recommendations were all based around reactionary solutions (pain medicine) rather than proactive solutions. I am so grateful to Dr. Anna for her ability to make me feel so much better, for her commitment to ongoing professional development that keeps her at the cutting edge of her profession, and for her commitment to sharing healthy living and wellness throughout Central New York.

If your hair type is 3 or 4, do not go to Garbo's. Anyone who knows anything about curly hair…read moreknows that you comb the hair when it is wet. My daughter was quoted $100, and was charged $188 for the extra time it took to detangle the matting caused by them. The owner and technician then threatened to charge her even more if she proceeded with the blow out and press. My daughter left the salon with her hair in two braids after paying nearly $200. My daughter was very upset, so I called the owner Stavros (multiple times over the course of several days) to better understand what happened and how we could come to some reconciliation given the convenient location close to the college campus. When he finally called me back, he continued to blame my daughter for the matting of her hair caused by his employee's inexperience, and his solution was for my daughter to wash and condition her own hair and return for a blowout and pay another $100 which is MORE than the advertised cost of a "Bestie blowout". Unbelievable. Don't be a casualty of their poor service, poor skills, vague pricing, and awful customer engagement.

I have had a TIME finding a dentist that wasn't more afraid of a dental phobic patient than I was…read moreof them (review on Yelp), that didn't give me to her son because he wanted to help people - only to have him send me to a sedation dentist. To go to a sedation dentist that has done 5 root canals on browns he's placed in 4 years - one of which I had replaced yesterday at Manlius dental, because 1/3 of it broke off. I have 2 more that are chipped. But let's go on! I saw a dentist that said I needed 17 root canals. I had a dentist who sent me to another dentist because he couldn't tell if I needed a root canal. ANNNNND... lastly I saw a dentist who said I needed a special dentist to work with people like myself that are... deformed by cancer. Nope- forgot Fallon brothers who told me in September I could not go there because I have Medicaid, and it's a Covid rule. Which is odd. Because I saw them the day before lockdown to pull a tooth. So that's 5 years of trying to find a dentist after surviving and reversing a terminal cancer (lung/trachea/bronchus metastatic to small bowel. Entered hospice at 60 pounds August 2019. Cancer-free since November 2019 (self-paid for the treatment I wanted) and off treatment 6+ years. Two points: treatment - much of which was in my trachea, a coma and a month long mechanical ventilation coupled with severe malnutrition destroyed my teeth. And people were jerks about it. Second point: 20 year anxiety buddy of a dentist died. 10 days after I started treatment after hospice. He was 50, and I was in the same hospital, and I was traumatized. I'd known him since I was 3. So this is why I say it matters that I think Manlius Dental is an excellent facility. They aren't phoning in the work. They aren't doing stuff that needs to be done. They aren't trying to hold a face that pretends it's listening when you talk. There's no ego, no as*holes and a genuine understanding about dental phobia. I've worked with 2 of the dentists, because they don't like to make you wait in pain just so whoever gets paid. You have the choice almost always to come in same or next day. And so I drive from Cicero, and it's worth it. I'm not made to feel like a child, a whiner, or an imposition. I appreciate that. But on top of that, procedures and sedations are each 100's of dollars less than at my former dentist(s). So why are they better, but cheaper? I think, and you can quote me in this - it because they give a damn about their patients. This, is home. And taking the stress out of dental distress has been awesome.

The good: My hair cut is good, my color is pretty good (I've had better)…read more The bad: It took her 4 hours to cut and color my hair. She left the foils in way too long because she booked another client at the same. She also applied my all-over color at the shampoo sink, and then left me at the sink for it to process, which I have NEVER seen in my life. It was uncomfortable to be in that position that long. I probably could have overlooked all of this (by chance I had nothing else to do that day, but I don't know who has FOUR hours to spend at a hair salon), but when my highlights came out literally orange (I'm not exaggerating...cheeto orange) because she left the bleach on for too long, instead of owning up to her mistake, she tried to convince me that it looked good. I told her no way, it needs to be toned, and so she did fix it--but then charged me extra to do so. After being there for four hours, I was too tired to even argue the extra charge. :(

I've gotten my hair and nails done multiple times at Fortunato's by several of the girls. It has…read morealways been a great experience. As a gift from my mother, I was given 2 gift certificates (one for me and a friend) to get a cut from Crystal Coville at Fortunato's. I had never had my hair done by her before, but assumed it'd be great just like any other time I'd gone there. I called immediately to book an appointment and never even received a returned phone call. I ended up going elsewhere because I had an event I needed a cut and style for that weekend. I'd almost forgotten about the Groupons until I got a reminder from my mom that they were expiring soon. I called, left a message, and texted Crystal. She informed me that she was not directly associated with the salon (?) which is apparently why I never got a returned phone call two months before, when I called. I find it hard to understand how individuals who work at a particular salon do not return a phone call from a client who left a message on the salon's main answering machine, but that's neither here nor there.. So, after many texts (and, again, not one phone call) with Crystal, I booked an appointment for myself and one of my employees for both of us to go get a cut on a Friday afternoon. The day before the appointment (Thursday), I received a text from Crystal asking if we would be showing up. Confused, I finally realized there was a miscommunication in her texts to me and she asked us to come in on Thursday, not Friday. I explained that I would've never booked that appointment for Thursday because my office is open until 5:30 on that night and we wouldn't have been able to close early during the week. She informed me that she had no availability on the day I had booked. I asked her to let me know when her next available appointment was. She ceased communication with me. I tried calling several times, with no response. I even went as far as calling from my office phone and having my employee call. After four days, she finally called in and told my employee that she would not honor the Groupons because they were now expired and "she doesn't have to honor expired groupons." She also told my employee that I was a "snippy b*tch on the phone" with her and if I had an issue with losing money on the wasted Groupons, I "can take it up with Groupon." I find it hard to believe that a local business, a few blocks away from my home, would have employees (or booth renters) that would treat anyone, let alone someone who is a center of influence as a local business owner herself, this way. I am absolutely appalled at how we were treated throughout this whole process and, as a result of her actions, lack of communication, and sheer lack of respect for myself and my guest, I will NEVER return to Fortunatos and I will deter anyone I know form giving them business as well.
