This place is a complete scam that uses ineffective and underpowered treatment methods to get you to spend more money and sign up for their "programs". I went in roughly 7 weeks ago for a Tattoo removal consultation and appointment. My tattoo is 3 inches long. Located on my neck. And is fully black. I myself am a 26 year old male with light skin and a very healthy immune system. Now I say all of this because I want to paint an accurate picture of the process, including risk factors and desired traits of tattoo removal so readers don't feel I am uneducated in the process or complaining without having done due diligence or research. When removing tattoos the targeted area is hit with specialized waves that break up the molecules of the ink. Allowing your lymphatic system to digest them. As a result of this process, your tattoo fades over time. Now there are certain traits that are more desirable to make the process more effective. Those include lighter skin. Being younger. The tattoo being located in areas where there is a higher flow of blood such as the neck. Age. Health. Age of the tattoo. And colors used. Black is typically the easiest to remove and red being the hardest. With that being said allow me to explain why this particular location is gouging their clientele for money well in excess while using ineffective treatments. When I entered this facility I was brought into a room with a woman whos name i cant remember, however, she was older and blonde. Before she had even sat down to fully explain the process, she'd already started hitting numbers into a calculator. She then goes on to tell me that she had never seen a tattoo such as mine disappear for anything less than 15 sessions. At a standard rate of 150 for a three inch tattoo that would come out to roughly $2250 over the course of all 15 sessions. But there was a possibility it could take more. So she wanted to have me sign up for the "unlimited program". This would allow me to get as many sessions as I needed to without worry of increased cost. It would just be $1500 up front. Right away, this struck a chord with me as in all of my research, I have almost never seen a tattoo take more than 13 sessions and that's including difficult colors such as red and in much more problematic locations with worse blood flowWhen I questioned this, she said that an individual who had just left right before i cam in was getting a tattoo removed from his ring finger and was on his 14th session, and it was still visible. This, however, is not comparable because the individual she mentioned was well into his 40s. And the ring finger has significantly less blood flow than the side of my neck, so these circumstances surrounding the tattoo are completely different. We chatted for a couple minutes. And during that time, she brought up several times that I should really just sign up for the unlimited program and pay the 1500 front. I said that if I paid session by session (150 a session) and it took less than 10 sessions, I would end up paying less than if I signed up and used less than 10 sessions in which case I'd be overpaying by a significant amount. I said that my research did not indicate it was going to take 15 sessions to get rid of my tattoo and I did not feel comfortable spending $1500 with the potential of overspending. She again said that she didn't think it was going to take a less than 15 sessions. And said that she could honestly see it taking upwards of 30. This was a huge no for me. I wanted to test my theory incase maybe I was wrong. So I asked to do my first sessions for 150. I'd see the results and decide from there. When signing my waiver, she asked me for the 6 time to sign up for the program. During my appointment, they tried to sell me several creams and gels.. And then Afterwards, I had little to no side effects. Because the treatment was ineffective and only resulted in minor redness. I went to a different shop 7 weeks later. Got the treatment done with a better laser and immediate results . And The artist thinks it will take maybe 2 more. Not 14+ read more

I suffer from hypopigmentation (loss of pigment) from the laser treatments I received at A&E. My upper lip is permanently lightened and it has caused a tremendous emotional strain on me. I never go anywhere without my concealer because it looks like I have a milk mustache and I'll have this for the rest of my life. Words of advice: GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST for Laser Treatments. Ok. so I bought a livingsocial for this place for hair removal on my lower legs. 3 treatments for $99. Had my first appointment today. It went great. No problems. It is a bigger place than the previous place i went to for hair removal for my armpits. The treatment went just the same. They said I need to go back in 10 weeks for my next treatment. Not recommended for individuals not staying in the Syracuse area for more than 4 years. I had 8 treatments done on legs, bikini and upper lip. Actually was awesome. My bikini area did the best and was like baby smooth, I only shaved once a month and I was in love. Legs and upper lip were lighter hair so that was a little harder. After 8 treatments they told me I had a 3 year guarantee which means I could still come back for "maintenance" Unfortunately I was leaving the area and wouldn't be able to keep it up.... Nor did I think I would have to do much. My last treatment was in December 2014 and I missed the one I scheduled for March Literally the following week ALL my hair came back. Like I have to shave everyday. It's back to the way it was before I paid for this laser hair removal. I'm shocked. It's almost like all the treatment did was suppress the hair temporarily. It was awesome while it lasted but if this is how it works for laser hair removal in the future I might rethink getting it done. Environment is a little stuck up. If you don't request the same technician you will get who ever. They don't take you if you are 10 minutes late, (especially if you drive 1.5 hours) but if they are late, they don't care. The evaluation determined that i was not hair free, however, I have been told I now need to purchase another package. I also had Botox performed there once and it did not do ANYTHING. Had 11 out of 12 laser tattoo removal treatments done . Worked very well and was very painful they did it as a packaged deal . I would recommend this service to someone if the tattoo isn't to big. Because the process with the burning of the skin and the blisters is painful also staying out of the water and sun during healing times is crucial. Think it before you ink it , realistically it's probably to late if your reading this but the service does work and is well worth it . I am very disappointed with A&E. I started my skin tightening treatments (8 of them) in the summer of 2020. I paid up front and went to all appointments on time and completed them by the end of August. I did not see any improvement but that is not why I am writing this. They promised me an assessment consult after the entire procedure was completed. The appointment was set for Nov.2. They called that day to cancel and said that they would call back soon to make another appointment. They never called so I called them. They set up an appointment but I wanted one earlier and had to insist. My appointment was set for Nov.11. They took pictures and again told me that they would call as soon as they received the pictures back. I waited to hear back. I called again in the beginning of Jan. 2021 and they said that they would call me. The place was closed for a couple of weeks so I waited. They said that I would be the first to call when it opens. After the first treatment, my leg was burned so badly that a hole opened up in my skin, and I got a terrible infection from it that took over a month to heel. The technician did not seem professional at all and did not know what she was doing, obviously. My tattoes are still there, because I was too afraid to go back after developing the one inch hole from the burn they gave me. On top of that, I could not get a refund. This place is crooked and unprofessional at best. The owner is rude and obnoxious. Thinks he's too good for everyone around him. RUN away from this place no matter how good the deals SEEM to be. Actually, the doctor an nurse who performed the procedures did a great job and the price was the best pretty decent. I didn't go back for one reason, the owner, Joe. The first time I went, I had an appointment to have the injections. Joe took me in a room and literally bullied me and told me they didn't have anyone to give me the injections that day. I looked at the reviews on yelp for A & E and really should not have been surprised that others have had an awful experience. I apologize for such a lengthy review but hope it assists others in making a decision to not go to A&E. Over the past 2 years I have had botox or restylane injections three times. I should have known better after the first treatment to have it done again. Each time I had it done my eyelids drooped so much that I could not use eyeliner because it ended up smeared all over my eyelids. I went back and complained and was told that the next time I had it done they would make the injections higher on my forehead to avoid the eye drooping. I was also given a discounted price for my second round of injections. The same thing happened and both eyelids drooped to the point that It interfered with my vision. I again complained but no one ever responded to my complaint. I waited a year for my last injection and was very clear with the technician about how my previous two treatments caused my eyelids to droop and I really wanted to have my "11's" addressed and my forehead. I was assured again that the injections would be done in a way to avoid the eye drooping. Within a week of my third injection both eyelids were drooping in the corners and the arch of my eyebrows were so high up that I looked like an angry bird. I went in to see what could be done aand they wanted to give me more injections to make the arch drop which would then again cause my entire lid to droop. I said that I would never again get injections. I also advised the staff member that I would like to speak to the owner Joe and that I wanted a full refund. He was conveniently in a meeting and was to call me. After 2 days of waiting I called to speak to him. Again he was not available again never returned my call. A third attempt yielded the same result. The following day I received an email from him. He told me that I would not receive a refund and then accused me of receiving several "free" treatments. I was appalled. I replied to his email advising that my second treatment was the only one that was discounted. He sent an email with dates and amounts that I was "not charged". I am not sure who keeps track of their records but several of the dates were fabricated. He even accused me of having another "free" treatment following my last one. I was furious and replied back asking him where he is getting this information and that I would like to discuss this with him and not email back and forth. He also told Me that there was No visible drooping in my eyelids when he reviewed my photos. I know my face and I know that when I again cant wear eyeliner because it smears my lids that they are most certainly drooping. I have not heard from him since. BOTTOM LINE...is that the owner of this facility is extremely unproffessional. He avoids confrontation by hiding behind emails. He is also a liar. He told me that I signed a contract fully knowing what the side effects could result in, which is true. What his technician told me is another story. Went in for my first ever botox and juvederm. First consultant is not a consultant with any actual knowledge of procedure. Paid for Botox for my 11's and crows feet; paid for Juvederm for my frown lines around mouth. When I went into room to have botox done, the technician told me I would need to have my forehead done if I wanted my 11's done because otherwise I would have wrinkles on forehead (why didn't consultant tell me this?); then when I went back a week later for my Juvederm injections, the tech insisted I was getting Restalyne; I repeated said that I paid for Juvederm but she told me I was mistaken. When I got home to look at my receipts, I did in fact pay for Juvederm. A&E insists that it was a clerical error and that I paid for Restalyne. I was a sales representative that sold ads to Joe in the magazine I worked for and I was always very professional to him but the entire time we we're doing business he was so rude to me and his staff and he used f-word so many times I lost count how many times he said it I actually brought with me a internet specialist and warned him in advance that Joe uses the f-word a lot and we counted 49 times in the twenty five minutes we were in there and he was amazed how this guy could still be in business! I think in reading all these reviews you can believe all the one star ones because he was actually fined something like $10,000 dollars for having someone rewrite bad reviews and change them into positive ones this guy must really hate people and life in general and how he stays in business is so surprising I once witnessed him berating a customer in front of his staff and anybody that was at the front desk. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who had a horrendous experience with A&E. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was one of the most unpleasant customer service encounters I have ever experienced. After being told on the phone my appointment was with a woman, I was unpleasantly surprised to be stuck in a room with Joe. Another reviewer referred to Joe as a "used car salesman", which I have to disagree with, because used car salesmen are at least usually friendly. I had clearly made an appointment for a Botox injection, but obviously this "consultation" is intended as a salespitch, albeit a bad one. "Joe" was rude, unpleasant, tried to upsell me into more expensive treatments, interrupted me, acted like I was wasting his time, argumentative, and like the other reviewer posted, he was condescending. I went there for Botox which I've had multiple times from legitimate physicians and there was no reason for him to talk down to me the way he did. I too heard him be rude and dismissive to the staff. I will give A&E this: their facility appears to be clean; the Botox worked (hard for it not to I guess) and their hours are convenient. That's all I can say that is good about this assembly-line style strip mall establishment. After getting treated here, I had a good friend complain about similar poor treatment, and she never complains about anything! I had been considering coming back for additional laser treatments (and even told Joe this upfront) but will never give A&E my business again. Other places are more expensive, but I will gladly pay the higher price for professional service and RESPECT. I guess I never should have tried to save money by cutting corners to begin with; you get what you pay for! When you think about it it makes sense to ensure that you are dealing with a board-certified dermatogist if you are injecting chemicals into your body. What was I thinking?! I found a great dermatologist who I really like to work with and who treats me (and his staff!) with kindness and respect. Oh, and the reason all of the "5 star reviews" are filtered is due to Yelp's filtering policy. If you don't know what this is you should read about it (it explains when you choose to unfilter the results). But basically, it is evident that the "5 star reviews" are "spam" postings either by the business themselves or someone affiliated with the business, trying to boost their ranking. If I could give negative five stars, I would. DO NOT waste your money getting your "tattoo removed" here! I spent $2,200 dollars on an inch and a half by two and a half inches black solid tattoo with some shaded black parts around it. This first, is a ridiculous price for a non colored tattoo. I am on my thirteenth treatment, the solid black part is still completely visible, hardly lighter than it was the day of my first treatment. The shaded areas are still present, where they have been removed, they have been replaced with white noticeable scar tissue from the laser burning my body. They don't have a high quality laser, it doesn't work well except to scar you and leave your tattoo, and they don't prescribed silvadene to reduce noticeable scarring after burns. My friend came here with me to get a solid black tattoo removed, he stopped coming after his tenth treatment and not seeing any noticeable difference. In addition to being over priced, and the service you pay for not working at all, the staff is incredibly rude. At least, the front end girl is, I've never been treatment so unprofessionally and disrespectfully, especially after giving someone more than $2,000 for a service that isn't working! DO NOT waste your money!!!! See a dermatologist. They will have the newest lasers, probably remove your tattoo in six treatments, will have a Newer laser so they don't go as deep so the possibility of of scarring is low. Plus, a dermatologist will prescribe you silvadene. This is a place that lies about their results, are rude to their customers, and overcharge to inflict pain and scarring but leave the tattoo. On your initial intake form, it is asked what you think are the problems with your skin you would like to work on, so I listed them all. When I was brought in for my consultation Mr. Ferro was, from the get-go, condescending and dismissive. After asking me what I saw as problems with my skin that I wanted to work on, I mentioned the same things I wrote on their intake. He told me that they could not work on everything at once (duh!) and what is it "that I wanted to do?" He asked that repeatedly; I was left to wonder why I bothered with a consult when all he kept saying was, "Well, what do you want to do? Where do you want to start?" If I knew this, I wouldn't need his consultation. First, I can't even give one star to this business, it doesn't't deserve any. Second, I am so upset with myself about not researching this place and reading these reviews before I wasted my time meeting with the most unpleasant man I have ever attempted to do business with. Lesson learned! So here's my story: My friend and I also brought a deal through Groupon for hair laser removal treatments. Since we were driving an hour and a half one way to get to the place, we requested to have our first treatment on the same day we had our 'consultation'. This must have ticked off this little man Joe because as soon as he walked into the room he said to my friend and me that the one year unlimited treatments would get us only 5 sessions max and with 5 sessions we could only get 10-15% hair reduction. When I challenged him how that would be possible since I had 5 treatments done in another area and had around 90% reduction he practically called me a liar and started making fun of those other businesses. So, Joe either was lying to us to get us to buy more sessions, or he is so inefficient that he doesn't know how to operate these machines or treat various types of skins. The technicians are hit or miss. I have had at least three different technicians there. Some just go through the motions and other really do a thorough job. There needs to be a system of checks and balances. I did not know all my sessions were up until I went in and was told that I would have to pay for today's session. Also watch out for Joe! He is like a cheap car sales man. He will tell you what you want to hear especially that it is guaranteed. Well there is no guarantees unless it is written on paper which he will not do. At you last session when you still have work that needs to be done he will come in and try to sell you another expensive package. Don't trust that what he is telling you is the truth. Do your research and talk to people before you invest thousands in his "deals". There are better packages and guarantees out there. read more

Dissatisfied, I have been a long time customer of A&E and spent a considerable amount of money at their facility, I was told that because I had a gift certificate I couldn't use the groupon coupon. They called "Joe" and he said no I couldn't use both....when is a gift certificate not considered cash??? Seriously, I hope that anyone considering purchasing a gift certificate or have a great husband and wants to surprise you...don't do it...apparently they do not want people to pay for their services before hand..BEWARE!!!! read more

This place is the best by far in the area! The staff is polite, knowledgeable and courteous... The prices can not be beat. Very clean and well run operation! Am shocked at the other reviews of this place as I live in Fort Lauderdale and have had many procedures done in the South Florida area by top doctors and I would gladly fly to Syracuse to come here to have my procedures done. They have been in business for a long time so are clearly doing a great job of running this establishment! 5 stars all the way! Thank you I will be back soon:) read more
