We have a go-to photographer of our own, but really wanted a secular ceremony without all of the fuss. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Tell your guests where to go, when to show up, and they do the rest! You just get to show up and look pretty. Everyone was great about contacting us and they were able to play my music of choice at a reasonable volume. The ceremony was beautiful, the officiant was great, and the event host made everything run beautifully. My husband and I are so happy we found The Vow Exchange. I am in California, so not super close to her (haha) but she assured me that it wouldn't be an issue. I needed some help for my husband's 50th birthday party. I have 3 year old twins so I wasn't sure how much I was going to be able to do on my own. She immediately sent me ideas for a theme on his birthday and discussed finding venues. I also started going to work looking at venues because I was nervous she wouldn't really know the area out here. I ended up finding a few and she called on them immediately. She booked me a tour of two of the venues I wanted. I ended up picking one quickly and she immediately put down the deposit for it. At the same time as she and her team were working on my event, i was working on it too coincidentally. I guess I had more time than I thought I did! I ended up really enjoying the process of researching vendors, reaching out to them and then when it came to booking them, I would kick them back over to Brandi. That's when things got a little slow and I jumped on them. She did let me know that she's not slow, I'm just really fast lol... I guess what I was really in the search for was a day of coordinator because I LOVE doing the planning (I hadn't realized that before though). I asked to cancel the contract for the reason that I was really just doing it all myself. No testament against her! She did have files and files of things she was working on for me. I just am a rush rush get things done now kind of person. She has a good heart and will make events beautiful I'm sure! Very willing to work with the client as you can see from below!

We put a deposit of $750 in June of 2024 for a wedding that we are having in October of 2025 just so we could hold the date with out committing with any sort of contract. We did not sign any sort of contract though out this whole process. After a week later, my fiancé and I decided to have a family member handle the coordination because they offered. We then reached out to the company for a refund since it was over a year in advance and we didn't sign any sort of contract. We were initially denied a refund completely, but after a dozen of ghosted emails, we were finally told by Brandi that she would only refund $500 of the initial $750, even though she did not lift a finger. As of January 2025, we still haven't even received the $500 that was promised. Completely shady and unprofessional business practices. I will make sure to let all of my relatives, friends, etc know that they should avoid this company to keep their money safe.

Not great, but probably top notch for what I would expect a catered hotel meal to be like. If you are looking for fine dining, you're in the wrong category. For an event space, it hit the mark.

But I have definitely been around my fair share of event spaces. And Hawthorne House seems like a good one. There is a nice little chapel. It's crisp and clean and bright. Also, I appreciate that it's a "chapel" but it's not remotely religious. It's basic, to be sure, but I think there's a lot to be said for simplicity. My only complaint was that the acoustics here are ROUGH. Plan on adding some sound absorbing features if you want people to actually be able to hear what's going on. OR, ban loud, noisy children from attending. Seriously, I couldn't hear a single word of the ceremony because of a few irritating babies. You cross a nice little bridge through some trees, and then you're at the reception venue. I was quite impressed. The aesthetics match the chapel in that it's simple and clean. There are quite a few windows and the lighting is fancy without being overly ornate. The bar is completely adequate, and has room for 8 taps of beer, if that's your thing. Around the front of the house is a wraparound porch that just felt great to be on, as if you were at the house of some wealthy relative. And the front lawn is expansive with a pretty nice little gazebo. Not sure what you'd do there, but I'm sure it would fulfill your gazebo needs. My only complaint about the reception hall itself was the limited number of bathrooms. I can see with a larger event how there'd be a line for the facilities. The staff was all friendly and helpful, an stayed out of your way. The food was provided by the venue, and it was alright. It wasn't all totally to my liking, but that could be the menu the couple selected, or the cooks could have had an off night. But they kept the buffets filled and hot and did a good job otherwise. I can't say that I was OMG blown away by Hawthorne House, but I was certainly impressed. Any bride-to-be that chose this venue would be making a wise decision.

We scheduled my daughter's wedding at HH for 6/6/20. We paid the $7,000 venue fee upfront. Because…read moreof COVID, the wedding could not be held on that date. HH told us that per our contract we could re-schedule within the calendar year so we re-scheduled for 8/21/20. As that date grew closer we felt uncomfortable holding a large event on that date due to the virus. HH would only allow us to re-schedule within 2020 without paying a new venue fee. We wanted to re-schedule farther out than that. We could schedule in January - April 2021 by paying 50% of a new venue fee and after that, it would be a new venue fee in full. After going back and forth with HH our options were these: 1. Hold the wedding prior to 4/30/21. 2. Schedule farther out and pay a new venue fee, after we had already paid a venue fee of $7,000. 3. Go to a different venue and forfeit our $7,000 venue fee. We opted to go with a different venue for the wedding, which is happening later in 2021, and Hawthorne House kept our full $7,000 despite the fact we weren't holding a wedding at their venue. Please be sure you ask the venues you're considering what their re-schedule policy is. That's true in general of course, but especially so in these times. We had no idea we would be rescheduling the wedding once, let alone twice. Incidentally, our new venue did not require the full venue fee upfront. All of the other venues we toured the second time around had much more forgiving policies than HH during this pandemic. And all of our other vendors, without exception, worked with us. Even our caterer who is not approved at our new venue. We are not difficult people and would have loved to have held the wedding at Hawthorne House, but we couldn't stomach staying there once we knew we were going to have to pay a second venue fee.

Yes, he played music, but even more, he performed the role as our reception coordinator. Like many brides, I originally thought that I needed to hire someone who could just play music. After seeing many positive reviews of Michael's services online, my fiance' Justin and I met with him in person. During our meeting, we realized that Michael was the real deal and that we needed to work with him. Michael explained how he would do much more than just play music -- he would help with planning the reception events with us, he would routinely meet with us throughout the whole planning process, he'd make sure the flow of the entire event made sense, etc. And he did exactly that! We Skyped with Michael on one occasion and also met in person on a few occasions. We also met at our reception site with Michael so he could plan out the event details, the location of the grand entrance, etc. Throughout our planning, Michael also was very prompt to respond via email whenever I reached out with questions, ideas and concerns. Michael told us time and time again that our job as the couple was to just enjoy our reception; his job was to make sure that it ran smoothly. And Michael kept that promise. Justin and I danced, mingled, enjoyed our food, and had a wonderful time at our reception. We never had any question about what's next, where do we go, aren't we supposed to cut the cake at some point? When we needed to perform a specific task at our reception, Michael found us and briefly gave us a reminder. On the music side of things, our dance floor was crowded the entire night. Of course as the bride and groom, we were busy talking with so many people, so we were not on the dance floor too much. Following up with one of the bridesmaids next day, she said, "I was on the dance floor the whole night!" Michael's planning and organization services combined with his DJ expertise was worth every penny. I would absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a DJ -- and then some. We will forever be grateful for the contribution he made and the hard work he put in on our very special day.
