Dr. Katz and his staff have been with me for over ten years and they are excellent. Mention Dr. Katz as your primary care physician anywhere in the greater Portland area and you will hear "You're so lucky" and "I've heard he's excellent." He is well regarded in the medical community as an experienced, compassionate, and excellent doctor. To his patients, he is quite simply, the best. He truly cares about his patients, listens to them, and goes above and beyond to make sure that their health and well-being is his primary concern.

I had voice loss, hair loss, extreme heart, chest and bodily pain, air hunger, snapping/cracking joints, stabbing breast pain with swelling, wrist pain, shoulder pain, weight loss, heavy cycles, bruising, pigment loss and this goes on and on. He spoke to me like a child saying no anxiety meds for 30 days, no appointment. I searched high and low for an MD as I have children to raise. By the time I got help it was arthritic pain levels, swollen knees, ankles and leg, I was falling down, had sever GI issues from Bartonella invading my GI tract. I hope no one is ever treated this way again as it was inhumane.

Dr. Krouse is the most thorough doctor I have ever had. Her nurse, Erica, runs the office like a dream and always quickly returns my messages or emails, and goes above and beyond to help me get the lowest cost on everything. Don't pay attention to that one-star review. That person has an entire collection of similar reviews that they've given on their profile. I am kind of stunned to find such a negative review of this doctor here. Dr. Larson was my doctor…read morefor about 2 years when I was a professor living in Portland and I found her medical care to be excellent. I saw her on at least 5 occasions, and each time, I found her staff professional and pleasant. During examinations, she answered all of my questions thoughtfully, and I found her very personable in her interactions with me. Dr. Larson's style of care I would describe as non-interventionist and holistic: she was not eager to prescribe medications for every little thing, and she asked me a lot of questions not just about specific ailments but about my broader health and well-being. I wish I had written a review before I moved away from Portland since I would remember more specific details, but I truly miss her medical care and expertise. I found her superbly professional and knowledgeable. And this is a more minor issue, but I found the fact that her offices are located in the ground floor of a building that was formerly a large home very comforting. The examination rooms were all properly clinical, certainly, but the rooms had real furniture and were warm and comfortable. In some ways this felt like visiting a traditional family doctor. Medical care has become, if anything, too impersonal and clinical. I really appreciated how Dr. Larson took care to create an environment for her patients that felt more like a welcoming space for her practice. I really can't recommend her highly enough.
I know that everyone has their own tastes when it comes to personal care, but do yourself a favor…read moreand don't use this woman as your doctor. I've had a number of bad doctor experiences over the years, but this was by far the worst. Dr. Larson was recommended to me when I first moved to the Portland area and didn't know where to start when it came to finding a doctor. I've been lucky enough to stay pretty healthy over the past few years, so I didn't have to see her often, but I don't think there was ever a time I walked out of her office thinking 'Wow, I'm so glad this woman is my health care provider.' The straw that broke this camel's back was a recent experience over the 4th of July holiday. I called the office on the 4th (which was a Thursday) and left a message, acknowledging the holiday and asking to please be called ASAP. I did not get a call until the following Wednesday, which is an eternity later when you're sick. The other staff her is generally uninterested and slightly unpleasant, and when I signed up for their online services I started getting spam emails and phone calls. In the time that I used Dr. Larson as my physician, she referred me to an incompetent ENT who retired a few weeks after seeing me (so glad I trusted my gut and got out of there before engaging in procedures that would have needed months of follow up). Maybe we're getting too personal now, but my point is that this was the worst doctor I've ever been to, and people shouldn't have to suffer through mediocre health care, especially when there are awesome doctors out there (and it's not like we don't pay for the visits).
One of the top gynecologists in the country! No question about it…read more He's the kind of doctor who has it all: great bedside manners, accurate diagnosis, highly skilled, and above all he's got compasion in his heart. He diagnosed my endometriosis even though it was microscopic, and he used excellent excision skills to take it out. The result: quick recovery and acheived pregnancy after two years of trying everything. Dr. Robbins is my savior. He is the kind of doctor who will call you to see how you're doing. I was out of town so he visited me all the way to my motel to do the post op appointment (and he did not even bill for that). Where can you find that nowadays? He is worth every penny I spent on travel! I went to see him all the way from San Diego, California. Do your body a favor and go see Dr. Robbins.
Dr. Robbins is top notch…read more I traveled 9 hours to see him for endometriosis excision surgery. I had a complicated case and he provided me with the utmost in care. During my case review he demonstrated that he has very deep knowledge and understanding of my disease, provided me with his realistic predictions of how he could help me, and explained in depth the various outcomes of my upcoming surgery. In my preoperative appointment he was compassionate, careful and clear, taking all the time I needed to review my case notes and help me understand my disease and the treatment that he had planned. Through his explanations, he spoke to me respectfully and was never condescending. He even took time out of his busy day to provide sight-seeing suggestions to my family so that they wouldn't sit restlessly in the waiting room during my long surgery. Before the surgery he was calm and reassuring to both me and my worried family members. Afterward, he clearly explained everything he had done during the surgery and what he expected my outcome to be. He provided me with his direct cell number and email address so that I could contact him quickly and directly if I had any concerns during my recovery. Once I was out of the hospital and recovering at my hotel, he visited me at my hotel room and painstakingly reviewed my operative reports and photographs, explaining clearly and in detail each task that he had performed during my surgery. I was a mess inside, but he managed to save one of my damaged ovaries and repair damage to my bladder caused by another doctor. I felt relief of my symptoms within days of surgery, and now 5 months post op I am a different, much healthier person. Many surgeons would have moved on at this point, but Dr. Robbins continues to be available whenever I have any questions or concerns regarding my health. He is: knowledgeable patient skilled compassionate accessible dedicated and clearly cares deeply about the health of his patients.

After one session, the entire right side of my face became un-clenched (and "unlocked" -- those with TMJ will know what I'm talking about). I cannot believe the huge improvement. I will definitely be going back to Wildwood Medicine (continued treatment is recommended, at least for a few weeks) for both this issue and other issues as well. Also, there are several things I really love about this clinic: -- EXTREMELY professional staff; I work in the healthcare industry, and I can say with confidence that the patient care and facilities here are top-notch -- They take credit/debit cards (unlike many other acupuncture places) -- They allow walk-ins! -- Sliding scale from $20-40 for each regular visit ($30-50 the first visit). This is SO much more affordable than the average practice, both in Maine and nationally. -- Beautiful, clean building -- Extremely knowledgeable acupuncturist (I think it definitely helps that he's a licensed physical therapist, too). Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be returning!
