Children and their families are very blessed to have a facility like this that allows their family members to be close to them during a difficult time. Everything in the facility is pretty much donated by various organizations. From the food to the rooms these families are provided for. The facility is kept clean and for the most part looks very comfortable. If I had the funds I would pour into these facilities as well because insurance only covers so much.

This is a wonderful place for the community. It serves the homeless by giving them a place to…read moresleep, food, and access to showers. They make it incredibly easy to volunteer and donate. They have a casserole program, they collect toiletry items, dental items, shoes, etc. Living downtown, I see the extent of our homeless population daily. I wanted to help, and they made it easy. My Key Club kiddos and I are happy to know this place exists.

The items we received were premium quality and far better than I expected. The entire process was smooth, organized, and completely stress-free. We never even had to get out of the car! Hands on Miami has been an amazing discovery for me…read more I have been a regular volunteer since January- giving me plenty opportunities to get involved with the community. But while i have always had a desire to volunteer and get involved, i also had a fear of the commitment entailed and the complications that might arise out of my already busy schedule. What is so perfect about Hands On is that it's a flexible volunteering model with no long term commitments, no background checks, no frills or complicated processes. I simply went on the site, found an activity of interest, which to me was working with teens and/or kids and signed up for a specific date. I've been hooked ever since- volunteering my time every month at Miami Bridge- an emergency youth shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned teens ages 10 to 17 and I love it. Every activity is assigned a project leader who takes responsibility for the group and can be a resource on that day for help with directions, etc... I can honestly say it's been a wonderful resource for me in finding ways to get involved and make a difference. Definitely check them out at handsonmiami.org and sign up for an event.

Love this quirky unimaginable place in the heart of a neighborhood. Came as a treat during a…read moreteachers work day with the kids. It was a great experience. Went back on a Sunday with treats for the animals. The kids had fun feeding the different ones. Playing on the rope swing and punching the bag and being able to explore.
