I am extremely disappointed with both my results and the way my concerns were handled by Dr. Chapin. I originally consulted for a thigh revision to correct unevenness. I specifically requested liposuction multiple times, as my previous surgeon included it and it was necessary for symmetry, but Dr. Chapin told me it was not needed. It was not performed, and my thighs show no improvement. The extended incision now protrudes even more than before. I spent $3,500 on the thigh revision with absolutely no positive change. I also only agreed to the upper and lower back lift because Dr. Chapin strongly recommended them, assuring me they would significantly improve my contour. These were not procedures I sought out myself. After spending an additional $12,000, the results are extremely minimal and not at all reflective of what was described to me. What stands out most is how dismissive Dr. Chapin was of my concerns. From my very first follow-up, I expressed dissatisfaction, yet my concerns were brushed aside again and again. At my most recent scheduled appointment--where the office was already 20 minutes behind--I was told Dr. Chapin "didn't have time" to discuss my thigh issues and still perform scar injections, and that I had to pick one. This was a scheduled visit specifically meant to address my post-op needs, and being told there wasn't time to even discuss my concerns was incredibly disrespectful and invalidating. Anytime I pressed for answers or expressed that I was unhappy with the results, I was essentially told there was nothing that could be done and to "be happy with your body." This felt dismissive, minimizing, and completely out of line considering I had been raising the same concerns from the beginning and had invested significant money into procedures that produced little to no improvement. I had a tummy tuck done a year ago following massive weight loss, and little did I know back then that I had picked an ARTIST for the job. I got incredibly lucky to choose Dr. Chapin. He is incredibly kind and funny, but more importantly he listens to your concerns and talks through everything with you. I told him I was in grad school and I felt like he truly cared - he would ask how it's going at every post-op visit. He's just a good person. On top of that though, he is a fantastic surgeon. My scar is a thin, faded, straight line now one year post op. My belly button looks natural. All of that is notoriously hard to achieve. I am so happy with my results. So today as I stepped out of the shower and was looking into the mirror judging different things about my body. Usually focusing on my mid section and breast which after birthing and nursing 3 children weren't the most attractive to say to say the least. I just had a terrible experience today at Chapin Aesthetics and with Dr. Chapin specifically. I did not go there for any type of cosmetic consultation but was in need of a true plastic surgeon who could repair damage that had been done to my leg in an accident 1 1/2 years ago. I was told by my orthopedist that the work my leg required would need to be done by a plastic surgeon if I had any hope of repairing the the residual damage and get my leg to looking normal again. First, I arrived promptly for my scheduled appointment but was kept waiting for over 45 minutes--unacceptable. Upon calling the front desk from my exam room (as I had no pants on) to inquire when I might be seen as I had to leave within the next 15 minutes to attend the Board meeting for an animal rescue I volunteer with, I was told someone would be in shortly. Dr. Chapin then arrived 5 minutes later. I explained why I was there at which point he inquired what my issue was with my leg. Upon pointing out to him the deformity very evident on my leg, he then proceeded to tell me "facts" about what had happened to it and what he thought the issue was, which was not even close to what my orthopedist told me. When I questioned him and presented the actual facts of the previous injury (which he did not seem to know even though my doctor had forwarded my records to him and I do not think he reviewed prior to the appointment), he then said he would not proceed with the appointment as I "was not listening" to him. I guess having the temerity to question a doctor and point out where he was in error on facts stated quite clearly in the records was not something worthy of his time. Obviously, he is not a true plastic surgeon but simply someone who does "aesthetic" work, not the skilled type of surgery that a true plastic surgeon worth his salt can do. I had an augmentation in December 2015 by another surgeon and was unhappy with my results. I knew I wanted a revision but was anxious about something going wrong again and about the financial burden so I waited years before deciding to fix it. I first met with Dr. Chapin in April 2019 after seeing 3 other surgeons. When I met him I knew that he was the best I'd get and I canceled all other consultations I had scheduled and decided to move forward with him. He explained everything in great detail and his confidence and knowledge made me sure he'd give me the results I wanted. Being someone with anxiety I know that I can be difficult for some people with my many questions, concerns, and need for detailed explanations but Dr. Chapin never made me feel like a nuisance. He offered detailed explanations and made me feel like he was happy to spend the extra time with me to ensure I felt at ease with the surgery. I never felt rushed or brushed off. One example is the pre-op appointment. My husband came with me and we brought a big list of questions. My husband was asking them and checking them off as he answered. It took alot to make a appointment and follow thru.. I was coming to talk about lipo and a tummy tuck. Feeling nervous and scared I was asked to put a gown on and I stood in front of the doctor and nurse which is very embarrassing especially when your not comfortable with your body. A body you always "hide". But I know that this is his profession and sees body figures all the time but personally it was hard for me to "let it all out". Well... I was told that I had to loose weight first ?! I was so embarrassed and felt so upset. Clearly I'm over weight which is why I'm looking to get a tummy tuck and lipo. I was told to go to the gym and loose some weight first. I was mortified! Clearly I know I'm over weight if I could loose the weight at the gym I wouldn't of been standing in a gown and underwear in front of a dr looking for help! I was so upset. I got dressed and left. I know he does great work and when I told my friends who have gotten work done by him they said yes he has told so-n-so the same thing to loose weight first. I had breast augmentation and lift done by Dr. Chapin and the outcome has been terrible! One breast is hard and causes pain and the other is soft and "water falling," so he calls it. When I went back to him he gave me a price double of what I paid before to fix them! I have horrible scars and my breast is as hard as a baseball and is so embarrassing. I went to see Dr Chapin as a second opinion on my tummy tuck and liposuction procedures. Dori, his consultant even offered to help try to have one of the procedures covered by insurance ( skin condition) which I found surprising and encouraging. By the way, insurance ended up not covering a breast redux but we tried. The fact that they would assist in that made a huge impression. On to the first visit. Dr Chapin has a personality that suits cosmetic surgery. He's pleasant, friendly but very professional. All business when it comes to procedures and I like that. When I told him I wanted to be able to have a nice repoir with my surgeon he shook my hand and said, "Well, it was nice meeting you." and he walked out. I was stunned but then he turned around and said.. just kidding... Let's find out what you want and we'll show you some photos of what we can do here. Back to business after the brief levity. See what I mean? I don't want to be on a Christmas card list but I want to feel secure in whom I've chosen to make my body the way I imagine it can be. He was able to put me at ease, assure me he wanted me to be happy with his work and that he would do whatever he could to make that happen. Without even getting the pricing for the procedures, I had decided Dr Chapin would be my surgeon. First visit.. A+ Got the pricing and it was more than $4000 cheaper than the first surgeon in Jenkintown. Now here's the thing...the Jenkintown surgeon is closer and operates out of Abington Hospital but Dr Chapin is over a half hour away and ops out of Doylestown.. so should I go so far away when AMH is 5 minutes from my home??? The answer ABSOLUTELY!!! He's worth it! Each time I spoke with the staff or Dr Chapin, I was made to feel as I was a valued patient. At the next visit, we had the time and date set for my surgery at Doylestown Hospital, got all my pre-op testing done prior to the surgery date and had all the financing in place. Dori explained how each place would ask for payment and when. Between the hospital and Chapin Aesthetic Center, it was SMOOOOOOOTH. Second visit..A + Here's a hint: don't use "care credit". they have issues and you don't want to get into their problems. I got a zero interest credit card for the amount of the surgery and have 9 months to pay it off without interest. By the time I have to start paying interest the balance will be so low that it won't matter. Surgery day, Superbowl Monday 2011. Doylestown Hospital took excellent care of my husband and me, walking us thru the procedures that Dr. C would expect. So at week 3, I went back in to have the area cleaned out, a drain put back in ( ugh! but necessary :) and stitched back up. It was the prudent course of action and I understood that. No one WANTS to go back to surgery but it was going to make it all better so I put on my big girl panties and did what I had to do. So I had post op visits at day 4, 1 week, 1 month and 2 months. At the 2 month mark we did post op comparative photos... WOW!! Now at 8 weeks and discharged from his service, I LOVE MY BODY!!! Seriously so very happy and amazed at what he was able to do. Scott Chapin is worth every penny you'll pay him and he is so happy to see his patients walk out of his office feeling that way too. During my initial consult, I loved the little nurse that came to set me up, She was so very kind and polite! She then gave me a lesson on what products could be used and pricing, there was NEVER any pressure to purchase products. She is amazing. She is attentive, informative, warm, professional and very thorough. Now here comes my doctor I like him, he is friendly enough. He did make a comment that pissed me off. I was there to have restylane injected in my lips, I didn't mention any movie stars or bring ANY pictures I just told him I want them bigger! And FAST! He understands but than says, "you know your not going to walk out of here looking like Angelina jolie"....Ummm OK!? I know he has to tell clients this so they don't have false expectations, but I don't think I "APPEAR" to be unstable and who even said ANYTHING about Angelina???? So he makes what is understandably a mildly uncomfortable experience as painless as it can be. Here is where my little nurse lady comes in again! As Im not a very touchy feely person, she rubs my arm and says your doing fine. AWWWWW, now at the time I didn't know i appreiciated this gusture, but thinking back what a sweatie! I have never had bruising, when he's done - he's THAT good. I could not be happier with both his style of work and the subsequent results. As I sat there post-procedure icing my face a bit, I perused the binders of before and after photos. WOW! I've never had Restylane or Botox or Titan or any of the other services he offers, he'll be my go-to man. Also, you could not ASK for a more beautiful setting. Instead of scrambling to find parking near some soulless medical office or high-rise, you get to park right in front and visit her in a darling Presidio cottage. That's half the fun! A few people commented on the higher-than-average prices; I never did comparison shop because if London says it's the way to go, her word is final. As I understand it, most of those $99 per session places have one laser. Now, reading my reviews, you will see that I am a budget-conscious girl - I just do not get this pay-$60-for-a-mani-pedi- but when it comes to your FACE, do you really want to be a cheapskate? Um. No. Save the thriftiness for your nails, or groceries, or whatever else, but your FACE deserves the best care your dollars can buy. This place sets the standard for customer service. It was the friendliest office that I have ever set foot in with a staff that is knowledgable and talented. I went for a glycolic face peel with Lisa, and she provided me with a wealth of information about my skin and how to treat it properly. She never tried to push the sale of any products on me though, which was a nice change from other spas that I have visited. Additionally, I went with a Groupon (which can sometimes cause a place to treat you second-rate citizen) and the staff was just as kind and accommodating. I must acknowledge Dr. Chapin and the staff for being very professional and providing a friendly environment. I had my consultation with Dr. Chapin in regards to having a male breast reduction procedure. He went over the procedure and seemed confident he could correct my issue. And even though the price was a little higher than I expected, I decided to have the procedure done because I wanted it done right. Everything leading up to and including the procedure itself seemed smooth. I knew it would not be a cut and dry procedure and there could be post op complications and it would take time to see final results so even though I briefly mentioned concern about one side, I decided to be patient and let some time pass. After developing a seroma and lumps under said side, I started to get concerned and brought it to his attention. This is when I started to realize either he did not have much experience and had no clue what was going on, or he just completely did not want to acknowledge the poor results. After going back one more time in February, he told me to wait a year and it didn't look "that bad". Moral of the story: do your homework and make sure surgeon has experience in particular procedure. I recently had a procedure done at Chapin aesthetics. I first met with Dorota who seems to serve as a sales person and calls the bill her quote which sounds odd to me and suggests that people are charged differently for the same procedure. After the meeting with Dorota you then meet with a nurse. You will never see Dorota again. The nurse is nice but pushes the skin care products which are horrible. After my procedure I was told I had to use Meg21 face treatment. I paid quite a bit for procedure and thought this was included but it wasn't and I was charged $127 for cream which was totally useless. Dr Chapin seemed very nice but my follow up he didn't even come to see me and instead I met with the nurse. I have been to several different places and the doctor always meets with their patient for the follow up and he apparently doesn't. If you do work on someone and take pride in your work you want to see the outcome and see how your patient is doing- not the case. Finally, the procedure I had done did not produce results that were suggested I would achieve. read more

I have often gone to Chapin Aesthetics for chemical peels. However, last week I came in and was assigned to a new aesthetician. Her name is Dionna and she was absolutely fantastic. I would say as far as medical aestheticians come she is as good as it gets. I received a DermaSweep treatment that made my skin simply glow. Dionna was extremely knowledgable and took the time to educate me not only about what new skincare treatments and products were on the market but also exactly what products would be best for my personal skincare regimen. I am already seeing results with the products thatI purchased on my last visit!!! One product in particular SkinMedica's TNS Essential Serum has made all the difference. Everything about Dr. Chapin was completely professional and my nerves were quickly put at ease. Dr. Chapin is an artist, he was able to look at my problem areas and completely make me feel confident and hopeful in the kind of results he would be able to achieve. My surgery was scheduled for May 2016 and went off with out any problems. To my surprise Dr. C was able to remove 12 pounds of loose skin from my body. It has bee roughly 4 months since my surgery and I am completely healed.
