I bought the rice bowl. I like that they have a simple menu with vegetarian options. The samosas were great.

Portions were decent, though if you're really hungry, you might want to order a bit extra. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a pleasant spot for a casual night out, though not something I'd go out of my way for

The one thing that stood out for us was how the staff and patrons all interacted like a family. The wait staff had a true camaraderie and seemed to interact with each other like an well-oiled machine who truly cared about their jobs, the patrons, and one another! How refreshing. As for drinks and food, you likely can't go wrong with any of their menu selections. "Must try" items include the Lemon Dahl -- a.k.a. yellow lentils (trust me; get this) -- the Chicken Tikka, and Seekh Kabab (ground lamb). But every dish we saw come out to nearby tables looked yummy!! I can't wait to go back and try even more dishes! The interior is eclectic and feels cozy! We sat at the bar during our visit, but DM would definitely be great for a date night, too, because it's so intimate feeling inside. Try Drunken Monkey if you are ever in the UES and on the lookout for some unique Indian food! We'll definitely return for another visit soon!

They are well known for their great priced lunch menu, but even if you skip that and order anything else, the food is consistently good. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, and just genuinely pleasant. The restaurant has outdoor seating during good weather, and it makes the whole experience feel even better. The theme and the design inside are well thought out. You feel the atmosphere as soon as you walk in. It is comforting in a way that makes you want to take your time and enjoy the meal. I have been here multiple times and one thing I always notice is the variety of people who dine here. You see folks from different backgrounds, cultures, income levels, and walks of life. That says a lot. Good food brings everybody together. When an upper class couple is sitting next to students and a family visiting from halfway across the world, you know the restaurant is doing something right. Now about the food. It is beyond good. It is the kind of comforting Indian food that hits the spot every single time. The portions are good and sometimes even a lot depending on the dish you order. I have been to many Indian restaurants, including pricier ones, and yet Clove stands out. It is not just the food or just the staff. It is the combination of everything working together. This place is excellent, and I am giving them a solid five. If you are in the neighborhood, go. If you are not in the neighborhood, go anyway. You will thank yourself. Cheers.
