Kaiser sent me here for a procedure. Checkin was easy but, although the three different people who called me before my procedure told me they'd accept cash for my portion due, turns out they DO NOT accept cash. Good thing my driver had a CC because all three ladies who called me prior to the appt date, all said I only needed my ID and insurance card (and could pay cash) so I didn't have a card of any kind on me. My pre-op nurse was Michelle. She was so nice and very friendly. I was nervous so, her pleasant disposition definitely calmed me. Next nurse was Camille. She would be the one in the procedure with me. She answered all of my questions and at first wasn't quite as outwardly friendly as Michelle but when I got in the procedure room she really set my mind at ease and I enjoyed conversing with her. Barely said three words to the anesthesiologist or Dr and next thing I know, I'm awake with Nurse Nikki. She was a hoot. She was so sweet and made conversation with me. She was very thorough with my post op instructions and just like the first two, made me feel very comfortable. I hope I never have to go back there but if I do, I hope I get those same nurses again! Be aware of their so called quotes for your OOP costs when you walk in for a procedure. Despite being provided 8 codes from my MD for the procedure I had I was only quoted an amount for 1 of the codes. 1 1/2 years later I have never received a bill from this provider but I did just receive a voicemail stating that I owed an additional 1500.00 for the procedure I was quoted twice for an amount of 376.00. Unconscionable business practice and they take no responsibility for their actions. Check your codes before you let these people provide you care. read more

Billing department is a joke. After going rounds about my dual coverage they still refused to bill the secondary so I had a 200.00 co pay, they "discounted" to 160.00, which i paid. A year later I'm was sent to collections for the 40 dollars they discounted. They never sent another bill trying to collect the 40 dollar difference, just straight to collections. I took a friend of mine there for an in patient minor surgery, She was scared and trembling when she went in - the wait was short, the staff was friendly and helpful! The facility was very clean, and well organized, and the staff very attentive and kind. They called me to pick her up and she was vibrant and so happy with the treatment and staff, she was bubbling over with a bright smile after her procedure. I had my first visit for a procedure at this surgical center this month. I was a bit anxious about going to a new place but can happily report that I was very, very impressed with the superior staff. From the check in to wheelchair roll out--it was a very positive experience. This entire staff was in great synchrony from start to finish. The check in nurse was busy but very courteous and clear. Every nurse that I encountered from prep, to operation bay to recovery was caring, helpful, and very efficient with their respective tasks. Dr. Rojany was very kind and focused. Though there were other people prepping for procedures at same time--I felt completely managed. I have been in the health care field for over 40 years. I will say that I have never been part of a surgical center that was more organized and ready to care for the patients that arrived. I wholeheartedly recommend this center. read more

Their billing is completely inflexible and inaccurate. First they wanted to charge me the entire amount of the surgery because they thought my copay didn't apply. This was for an urgent surgery so it was stressful on phone to get it sorted asap. I called my insurance and got that fixed - so don't take their word if it doesn't sound correct. Then they did a poor job estimating my copay, and sent me an additional bill 6 months later. I asked for two additional months to set up a payment plan as the bill came in December (of course) and she told me she could't guarantee it wouldn't go to collections. read more

I finally paid off this account from my April surgery. I counted 14 different letters from the collection agency, not to mention the various calls. I still can't believe they conduct business this way! I hope they reverse the bad credit rating they applied to me with the credit bureaus. I will never, ever, ever go back to this place. read more

Took my pops to get an epideral. We had to get there at 1030 am . We got there at 1040 am and we waited for my pops to get called back like 1230 PM. His appt was at 1130 am . Guess they were backed up . But the place was really nice and clean parking was a little tight. He said once her got back there . They were nice the nurses and drs that it was quick and not painful. Had a wonderful experience yesterday at CI Surgicenter. I was made to feel welcome from check-in until I left. The entire team of nurses were friendly and comforting, and seemed concerned only about my welfare. My questions were promptly answered, and I was made to feel as though I was their only patient that day! I have been to this surgicenter several times in the past 10 years and believe the care and concern given to patients by the medical staff is kind, thoughtful and considerate. The office staff is not. Recently I requested no anesthesia for a procedure that my insurance company had removed from my policy. Two days in advance of admittance and on the day of the admittance I asked 3 different staff persons to be certain that my doctor had noted that I was to receive conscious sedation instead. Never the less nothing was noted. I was given anesthesia and as promised, the insurance company did not pay. I am less concerned about the price tag than I am about the lack of concern exhibited by the surgicenter staff. I will never again feel I am completely safe in their care nor be able to rely on them to make decisions about my welfare. read more

From the front office all the way through to the time of release, I found the staff to be friendly and professional. Best surgery center. Tami the RN in pre-op was a lot of fun and informative. She made my anxiety go down. Anai was also great and informative. The front awesome lady who helped me was so very nice. Even the guy who was at the front door. Didn't get his name. But super nice. I highly recommend Channel Islands Surgicenter. They walk you through everything and let you know what the next step is. The nurses in the back were so nice. Dr. Karen Simmon is so awesome. I also recommend her. I had a great experience through the whole process. I have been at other surgi centers and this one is no worse or better than the others. They were professional and I appreciated the fact that they told me what my portion of the cost for surgery was going to be. I was allowed to break up my cost into 3 payments however I was able to pay the balance on the second payment. No issues there. The nurses I had were very nice and professional, made sure my ride was called when I was ready to be picked up. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because their follow-up call was one week later and I would have expected it no later than 2 days after surgery. No big deal. Amazing staff, very friendly and professional. I was VERY scared, even though I was only getting an upper endoscopy, but I have never had anything like that done before. From the front desk to the to all the nurses and the anesthesiologist (literally everyone I had contact with!) I was treated with kindness, compassion and care. They helped ease my fears and were very patient with me from start to finish. Not that I hope to ever do this again, but if I do, I will come back to CI Surgicenter. I gave it 3 stars b/c the back office staff is great, the billing, not so much! Made to pay upfront $750 over what my insurance stated I owed and 8 weeks later, no refund! They state its still in process.They also used an out of network anesthetist, without informing me, so now I owe a lot more money than I would have if they had been in network. read more

My mom recently had a procedure done here. Everything went very well! So I wanted to come on here and express how amazing Gina was. I think they mentioned there are a lot of Ginas here, so i'll try to filter it by saying, Gina with the Blonde hair??lol ..She was very carrying for my mother, very careful with her as well. Gina has got to be the most sweetest and warm hearted RN's I have come across! Wow. Just wow. Went in for steroid injection in my spine. Pretty scary, but the staff was friendly, and re-assuring. I felt well taken care of, given lots of individual attention, and it seemed like I had an entire team working for me. Both the pre-procedure staff and the physician made sure that I knew what to expect, and that I understood the after procedure protocol. They explained everything carefully and did not rush The facility was clean & bright, even had coffee available. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

I wish there were more stars to give these ladies! For what we went in for, I don't think that particular experience could not have been made better than if anyone else cared for us. We felt the TLC from the second we walked in, throughout whole procedure, and being literally wheeled out to the car- they made us feel like royalty! Not a long wait AT ALL- and the whole thing probably took an hour and half TOPS from start to walking out. If we need anything done in the future medically related, I look forward to seeing these ladies again! They should all have raises. It has taken me over 6 months to get my bill cleared up. I didn't get a bill until 2 months after the surgery. My surgery was pre-authorized and my portion paid up front. I received a bill saying I didn't have coverage. One man yelled at me when I called and told me that I didn't have coverage and I need to pay my bill. I told him it was pre-authorized and the doctor was paid. I asked him to check my insurance information; he said it was highly unlikely that this was wrong. I had to insist that he check to see if the information that had was correct, he was so rude. They had my insurance ID information wrong. He never apologized for being rude. Just took my correct information and told me they would resubmit my claim. One time I called and they said, they had to wait for my secondary insurance to pay before they would process the second insurance. I don't have a secondary insurance. What I am assuming they did was put my incorrect number and my correct number in making it look like I had 2 policies. I have called at least 12 times to get this fixed. Every time I speak to someone and they tell me it's been taken care of. Every time I call I have them check the number to make sure it's right. Then after getting multiple bills, I get sent to collections. I called and was told not to worry about it. They are just monitoring me and it no big deal. I don't know what world this kid was living in, but in my world being sent to collections is a big deal. I finally asked to speak to a manager. After being put on only for 15 mins, I was told there was no manager to talk to but I could have his voice mail. I left a message after 2 day and not call back I called and asked for the manager. Luckily I had written the managers name down and asked for him my name. He was very nice and apologetic. He checked my information and it was still wrong. He took care of the problem and was very nice and had someone call me this morning to tell me that it was rebilled. The kid that called was one of the same kids that I talked too that didn't take care of the problem. I write everything down every time I talk to someone. I have had nothing but problems with insurance claims since Obama care started. One claim said having some skin tags burned off was experimental. read more

I had a procedure 14 months ago. Came in with 2 medical PPO's, one from my work and the other from my wife. 5 months later I get a bill saying that we owe them money from the procedure. We have called numerous times to clear the problem, They billed my wife's PPO dental plan by mistake. Since then, I have been sent to collections. Every time we call they say the problem is being taken care of and, they have not rectified the billing error. The doctor who did the procedure was good, The staff was good as well. They need to take a hard look at there billing staff. I will never go there again. read more
