They were listed as a local merchant who sells local artist Lori Mitchell's twiggy figurines in Richmond magazine last fall, and that lured her in. She spent way too long deciding between the figurines, so I looked around in the shop while she stared at them. They stock lots of eclectic, unique home decor items, so if you're looking for a special pillow or fabric or random glass ball -- and have the means -- this is a good option to check out. The folks who work here are really nice too. They chatted with us about the twig collection (apologies if the figurines have a real name that I'm omitting) and mentioned that Lori had had an event there in the recent past.

She hosted an event a few weeks ago at the SPCA, sort of design seminar for pet owners, that addressed the best carpets, fabrics and stain treatments safe for pets and easy-to-clean for their human friends. I've noticed that in the shop she always has some pillows, fabrics, or decorative pieces with pet motifs. So that's why she gets four woofs from me!

I've also had the pleasure of having my partner purchase from this store and surprise me with a sparkly gift that I wear every day and the quality is unparalleled. The staff here is friendly and takes the time to work with you, whether you choose to make a sale that day or not. They rotate their stock and have a lot of nice options depending on your budget, and they have a decent turn around for repairs. The owners seem to care a lot about their business and you can tell they've put a lot of effort into their store. I just dropped off some earrings today to get new backings for them and figured I would leave a review. Definitely worth your time!

And it's a tad hidden behind the Cold Harbor Restaurant, but it's worth the search!! I purchased a cute upcycled sage green desk/vanity and it looks perfect in my guest room! I saw many items that were right up my alley! They have a huge inventory of furniture, pillows, lamps, rugs, wall decor, signage, tea towels, kitchenware - all super cute and fun! Some booths also have clothing, boots, purses, and jewelry! I also took home some humorous keychains, wooden peaches, and doilies! Also in the nooks and crannies of this whimsical shop are soaps, lotions, room sprays, tons of floral/plant/succulent arrangements, flowers stems, tea accoutrements, and a few antiques displayed here and there, plus tons more as a feast for the eyes, at prices that won't make you cringe! It turns out that Dolce really doesn't have many tableclothes, but I was pleasantly surprised by Dolce's selection of unique items, and while I didn't purchase anything, I will probably be going back soon... The only downside about Dolce seemed to be that it was a bit crowded. I had trouble navigating the store, and I know I didn't see all the unique little items they had to offer... But some of the standouts included a picture frame made of keyboard keys, a rack of hostess gifts for under $10 (who couldn't use those!), a selection of unique wine-stoppers including one made from a glass doorknob, and some really classy large frames. Dolce does have a whole section devoted to fabric choices, and I believe they do re-upholstery. However, the rest of their shop features gifts and home accessories, so you can't buy reupholstered furniture there as far as I could tell. Overall, a super cute place to look around and get ideas or pick up the perfect classy gift.
