The do an excellent red Thai curry, which you can have as part of the £5 lunch deal, available between 12 and 3 on the weekdays. The lunch deal includes a starter and rice. Starters vary from day to day but they're all nice authentic deep fried Thai-ness. My ultimate advice to anyone having Thai, not only here, would be to get on the Pad Kee Mao, a spicy noodle dish. You may have to ask for it specially if its not on the menu, as it is usually sold in its rice form, but here they would be happy to do you the noodle version. I must warn though, its very spicy. Unfortunately they've decided to end the Friday buffet for the time being, but they've assured me that it will be back, so keep an eye out for that. Its an all you can eat, which only has 3 or 4 main dishes, but all of them are lovely and you wont be disappointed. They also do a pre-order sharing thing for large parties. When we did this they really made an effort to look after us and make sure we had enough, so I'd really recommend it for a party.

We ordered some Thai prawn crackers with chilli dip which were very good, followed by the 'Jitrada starter platter' (£7.90 pp) which included crispy king prawn wraps, skewers of grilled chicken with peanut sauce, baked chicken breasts in pandan leaf, tempura vegetables, fried minced pork balls with garlic sauce and Thai papaya salad. Overall I'd say the platter was average, just ok, having now had a few Thai meals elsewhere in Manchester I can compare. For our main courses we shared a chicken Musaman curry (with potato, tomato and coconut milk) and a chicken Thai green curry (with coconut milk, aubergine and sweet basil) - £9.50 each. They came with a sizeable portion of sticky rice which was really tasty when the sauces from the curries were added. As the only Thai restaurant in Sale it's decent enough - the staff were very welcoming and service was efficient throughout our meal. It could probably do with a spot of modernisation, but if they removed the footbridge and Koi carp pond at the entrance it would be a real shame! Tip: If preferred, they offer a number of banquets (minimum order for two people).

When I walked in I was first a little surprised by the small bridge and Koi pond just inside the door. Yes they have Koi in a pond, inside the restaurant. The resturant is a reasonably size and at 7:30pm on a Tuesday had a surprisingly decent crowd, probably between 1/4 and 1/3 of their tables had diners. The smell of good Thai food is amazing and that was the second thing that hit me, the smell of sizzling spices and wafts of steam springing up from tables around the restaurant. It appears the sizzling plate is a little feature they offer on a lot of their dishes and it certainly adds to the experience to have those chilli smells assault you, I love it but some people may find it overwhelming. We ordered mixed appetizer selection or curried samosas, fried tofu, spring rolls and corn fritters, all very tasting with sweet chilli dipping sauce. I also ordered the Weeping Green Tiger, which is a fillet steak and vegetables served on the hot plate with a Thai Green Chilli sauce. The fillet steak was perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy. The veg was a little underwhelming and felt like it may have been steamed a little while earlier and kept warm, rather than being cooked to order, it missed some intangible freshness I couldn't put my finger but was quite okay nonetheless, I couldn't fault the green curry sauce, it had all the right mix of hot, salty, sweet and sour which indicates a good Thai dish, perhaps my only wish was that I had more of the sauce, because of the shallow sizzling plate there was only a fairly light basting and I kind of wish I'd had a bowl of extra sauce to pour over the meat and veg as I ate it. My wife had the Seafood Red Curry, which I didn't really try as I'm not a huge fan of seafood, though I did take a prawn and it also seemed very good. She had more curry as her meal came in a bowl. A very enjoyable Thai meal which was only really let down by some small details.

You are seated at 'cooking station' around large cooking areas - often alongside other guests who you may not know. (Because of this, it's not advisable to come here if you're looking for a romantic meal for two!). The chefs then come out and take your orders for food - which they prompty prepare in front of you alongside some side orders and delicious fried potatoes! There is quite a twist to the dining experience which I won't spoil by talking about here, but sufficed to say it's best to come to Siam with an open mind and be ready to smile and have some fun. It's nothing too taxing, but the cooking can at times become a little 'interactive' - and the chefs really seem to enjoy themselves. The prices are fairly high - but given you're getting so much more than just food, this really isn't a problem. Highly recommended.

On the tappenyaki floor were wooden elephants and beautiful natural wooden tables etc. Upstairs was beautifully decorated with Thai carvings, paintings and wicker fish traps! I was greeted by name and we had the whole place to ourselves. The menu was diverse with starters costing between £7 to £10 and mains about £15 . After being served cold lemon water by a lovely waiter we chose between us chilli squid, chicken satay and crying tiger (spicy steak) for starters. The steak was a bit overcooked for my preference but it was beautifully cut and seasoned so it still enjoyable although the side salad consisted of iceburg lettuce with no dressing etc. my dad's chicken satay was a lovely portion and looked tasty and my sisters squid was a nice size too. The coating didn't stick very well to it but still very tasty . For mains my partner chose pineapple rice with prawns, myself yellow curry with crispy sea bass, my sister the chicken green Thai curry and my father the jungle curry . Despite the heavy-handed turmeric in the rice this was the closest thing we've had to pineapple rice since our Thailand trip . Was really fresh and tasty . My yellow curry was divine with perfectly cooked sea bass. Both my dad and sisters meal also looked fabulous! At the end they had remembered my dads birthday and brought out a candlelit dessert. We asked if the soup could be made less spicy, to which she said no, but said we could substitute for a different soup. So we went with the Tom Tam Gai, a coconut milk based soup with chicken. Mr. Snarky was excited about it, but I wasn't quite so excited, mostly because I have tried a couple of coconut milk based soups and I tend not to enjoy them. I also remember my mom making a dish with coconut milk when I was kid and I always ate something else for dinner because I just didn't like it. However, as an optimist, I continue trying dishes I don't like in the hopes that one day I might like it. The soup came out and it was quiet pungent. However, it tastes much better than the smell. I ended up liking and Mr. Snarky ended up not being a huge fan. The other issue is that his bowl was mostly mushrooms with only a couple of pieces of chicken... he doesn't like mushrooms. If we had to do it again, I would try the spicy shrimp soup. For our mains we had a creamy shrimp curry, stir fried chicken with garlic and pepper, and Beef with Oyster Sauce. This comes with egg fried rice as well, but I believe we did order another bowl of steamed rice... I'm part Asian, I can put away a lot of rice. A word to the wise, try the chicken and the beef first. We made the mistake of trying the shrimp curry first, but because of all the spices and spiciness of it, it just dominated our palette. I will say that I was a bit worried about the creamy shrimp curry, 1) I have never been a huge fan of curry (although we are working to correct this) and 2) because it said 'creamy' in the description and I am lactose intolerant. However, I enjoyed the shrimp curry... the flavor was amazing and the while it isn't instantly spicy, the spice does intensify. We were absolutely stuffed! I think an extra course, even if it is soup probably put us over the edge, however, we were definitely happy with our food (the soup being the exception for Mr. Snarky).
