I will say none of the options are overly spicy, so if you are looking for heat, you might need to visit elsewhere. With my group, I managed to sample nearly everything and recommend the duck in any form. The coconut rice is also just awesome! The staff is friendly and attentive. They are more than willing to offer suggestions as well. Finally, don't forgot, if you have a birthday in the group, the staff will be more than glad to embarrass them with attention and a song!

Although I was a bit skeptical at first when my friend brought me here because usually this type of posh and über trendy restaurants serve water down Asian food for non-Asian folks. I know how authentic Thai food tastes like because I have been to Thailand and I hang out with Thai friends who taught me how to cook Thai food. Contrary to my low expectations , I was pleasantly surprised by the succulent massaman & chicken green curry. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food I've tried and I was impressed with the sophisticated and contemporary decor as well. This is a great choice for any special occasion, it was the perfect location to meet up with my old friend whom I haven't seen for more than 20 years.

Really great experience!…read more I've been wanting to come here for a long time, back In my student days I walked past it countless of times for some reason thinking I'd never be able afford it aha I was meant to attend here a few months ago with my friend but she got ill however the whole booking journey was a very pleasant one. This time I booked the Thai restaurant upstairs for my dad's birthday. Walking in from the 32°c heat the air con was welcoming. On the tappenyaki floor were wooden elephants and beautiful natural wooden tables etc. Upstairs was beautifully decorated with Thai carvings, paintings and wicker fish traps! I was greeted by name and we had the whole place to ourselves. The menu was diverse with starters costing between £7 to £10 and mains about £15 . After being served cold lemon water by a lovely waiter we chose between us chilli squid, chicken satay and crying tiger (spicy steak) for starters. The steak was a bit overcooked for my preference but it was beautifully cut and seasoned so it still enjoyable although the side salad consisted of iceburg lettuce with no dressing etc. my dad's chicken satay was a lovely portion and looked tasty and my sisters squid was a nice size too. The coating didn't stick very well to it but still very tasty . For mains my partner chose pineapple rice with prawns, myself yellow curry with crispy sea bass, my sister the chicken green Thai curry and my father the jungle curry . Despite the heavy-handed turmeric in the rice this was the closest thing we've had to pineapple rice since our Thailand trip . Was really fresh and tasty . My yellow curry was divine with perfectly cooked sea bass. Both my dad and sisters meal also looked fabulous! At the end they had remembered my dads birthday and brought out a candlelit dessert. Overall a very welcoming service with beautiful food just subtle tweaks though to make it perfect. I will definitely return.

The decor is very traditional, which isn't necessarily a negative, it just depends on your tastes. The somewhat tacky gold statues etc. are dotted around the place, and the wallpaper is out of this world. I've been here a couple of times, the most notable was on a Friday lunchtime when I popped in for something to eat with a couple of friends. I had two courses for £5 or something silly like that. The food was lovely, exactly what I expected - even if it did arrive suspiciously quicky...

The menu is ppretty big with probably about a hundred dishes if i was to hazard a guess. If you're an avid Thai cuisine fan you already know the score as to what is on that menu...you got your satays, green chicken curry, mixed seafood with chilli and basil leaves, hot-and-sour beef salad, etc etc What you might not expect if you've been here is the strangely named goong bikini (crispy king prawn pancake rolls with sweet-and-sour dip), or the Chiang Mai 'golden sausages, as well as the whole sea bass cooked with lemon grass and tamarind. The decor again is what you'd expect from a Thai place, slightly cheesy, for me anyway, but welcoming and ambient. If you have already tried Chaophraya then give this a whirl, you'll be impressed with the quality of the food and service and will be few pennies the wiser.
