We learned a lot and appreciated how informative and engaging the tour was. The tour ended with a tropical fruit tasting, and the fruit was incredibly fresh, juicy, and sweet. It was one of our favorite parts of the experience. Feeding the alpacas was also a lot of fun, and our kids absolutely loved it. The farm also has zip lines and giant inflatable bouncing balls, so there is plenty to keep families entertained. Definitely worth checking out.

He started with some farm history and then he took us to see the alpacas. They were so cute and friendly. We all got to feed them and pet them. Next was the tour of the farm. He walked us through the many plants and fruits that grow on the property. For some we got to feel or taste them as he told interesting and funny stories. After our tour, he took us to a beautiful lookout with tables where we experienced a huge plate of tropical fruits and a glass of dragon fruit lemonade. It was all refreshing and delicious. This is a great experience and I highly recommend it.

The farm has great views of Lahaina and the ocean. It was a unique experience different and interesting and inspiring to hear the vision that Tim and Harline have to restore the Hawaiian "Garden of Eden". Once you get over the sheer beauty of this farms location in launiupoko, which overlooks the Hawaiian waters, you realize you found a real gem. Lahaina family farms covers 69 acres, many of it is yet to be farmed and the goal here is to balance land preservation, organic farming, and education. Everyone has a skill that can be resourceful to this farm for the education is beyond just organic farming. It is Tim's collective decision to change the directions of all Of our lives by responsible land ownership. The farm also has one of the largest gathering of a certain Hawaiian tree that carries a long standing folklore. My limited research tells me that the wood of this tree, similar to balsa wood, was once used by Hawaiian royalty to carve surf boards. Tim's ties with the wwoofers, a world wide organization, provides young people the opportunity to contribute their skills to help themselves, others as well as the farm vision. This gives them a truly great experience on the farm, not to mention the amazing opportunity to be on the beautiful island of Maui. I'm told visitors are welcomed with love and appreciation. Tim and his family ask for nothing in return other than a few hours a day of work and an open mind to his vision. The store is rather small and packed with many non perishable items up front. In back you will find the tables overflowing with fresh local produce. It is a vast property with SO MANY photo ops and the most breath taking views! The peace and serenity you feel up country in unmatched. They were in the middle of a tour when I arrived, but one of the owners quickly came over to meet me and brought me into the little store. Candice was very friendly, welcoming very and knowledgeable about all things vanilla. I was hoping to pick up some vanilla extract, but unfortunately they were sold out. Candice recommended the vanilla powder instead which is pure vanilla and you only need to use about half the amount. I'm very excited to try it! Clay and Candace are the owners of this vanilla farm and have definitely put a lot of their time and dedication into growing vanilla as they will explain to you about the tedious and timely process that goes into all of this. They are wonderful and very knowledgeable about vanilla overall. The cheesecake and ice cream we all got to taste was delicious and homemade! Definitely should come back in a few years and see how their farm is progressing. As you could imagine, there are very few vanilla farms in the whole state of Hawaii compared to farms that grow crops like coffee and chocolate.
