I didn't feel like he was ever rushing out appointments which was nice. I also liked that he wasn't too over the top with lots and lots of ultra sounds if it wasn't necessary. Midwife Chris ended up delivering my baby. It was an amazing experience, she really was incredible, and I hope I can have her deliver my next baby as well. I feel like I didn't thank her enough for being as good as she was. My whole birth experience was really awesome, especially as a first time mom Will be using them again in the future

Dr. Capetenakis misdiagnosed my Stage IV Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis. I was referred to Dr…read more Capetenakis by a functional medicine doctor, and was hoping that by establishing care with a "boutique medical practice", I would get the care that I so desperately needed. Long story short, I ended up having an excision surgery for Stage IV Endometriosis, and it was so bad that I also ended up needing a bowel resection. For being told multiple times during my visits that my pain was due to ovulation, my fibroids weren't an issue (he had women with 12cm fibroids get pregnant), and that the developing cysts on my ovaries were nothing to be concerned about, it was a genuine shock that my situation was so dire. My doctor that did the excision surgery shared that I had a life expectancy of 5-6 years if I had not been treated. With regard to the office experience, it is a shock that his office does not send out appointment reminders. According to his staff, they are too small. Given that my dog groomer, acupuncturist, and my therapist all manage their own schedules and send automated appointment reminders without issue, that is definitely an area of improvement. Especially when I was charged a $50 no show fee for an appointment that I never scheduled. All in all - they tried. However, when a patient is far too complex they should be referred out to another provider, not told that everything is fine and to move on. If it were his family, I doubt he would have taken the same approach as he did with me.

Wait times are minimal, the longest I have had to wait (so far) is only 10 minutes! Dr. Fainman is professional and thorough, she seems to take her job and patients very seriously. Dr. Fainman is not a bubbly, super friendly kind of person ... but she is sincere, kind, professional, knowledgeable, and I feel well taken care of by her and her medical staff. Her staff calls back appropriately/timely and they are well organized. I couldn't be happier here and I am glad I decided to give Dr. Fainman and her staff a try!

I am under her care for my pregnancy, and as usual, she is diligent, kind, knowledgeable, and puts my mind at ease whenever I'm concerned about my baby. Pregnancy has not been the easiest for me, and scary at times, but I cannot emphasize how safe Dr. Fainman continues to make me feel. I wanted an OB who was as concerned about my well-being as my baby's, and I most certainly have that with her. I'm surprised to find out many women don't feel this type of connection with their OBGYN and it makes me sad for them! I am grateful for this wonderful connection I have formed with Dr. Fainman and her staff, and I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a caring gynecologist and or obstetrician

I initially began as a patient with Dr. Truong but later switched to Dr. Makhani in Encinitas,…read moreencouraged by friends who praised her HRT care. Unfortunately, my experiences with both providers have been consistently disappointing. With Dr. Truong, I often felt rushed and that she was distant. During my annual exam, she seemed more focused on the clock than on me, and I left feeling unheard. After switching to Dr. Makhani, I requested an order for a pelvic exam and ultrasound to monitor ongoing ovarian cysts, as well as to investigate a recent increase in migraines around my periods. Despite this legitimate concern, the office refused to order the exam. I had to go through my primary doctor, who had no issue sending the order immediately. Communication and support in Dr. Makhani's office have been poor. When I asked the front desk, including Nicole, for guidance on a location for my annual exam, no recommendations were offered. I ended up going to Perlman Clinic, where a female physician conducted a thorough, supportive exam that felt far more attentive and resourceful than my experience with Dr. Makhani's office. Even after preparing for a focused hormone consultation--including completing my annual exam, blood work, and Pap smear in advance--Dr. Makhani did not have my results. Despite texts from Nicole confirming they had received everything, Dr. Makhani tried to place blame on me rather than acknowledging the oversight. She promised to follow up regarding my blood work but never did. The situation worsened with new lab orders. The day before a critical blood draw, I called the office urgently because Quest Lab had no instructions from them--no fasting details, no clarification about which tests were to be run, including ferritin/iron tests I specifically requested. Despite multiple attempts to reach both the staff and the doctor, I received vague responses, resulting in wasted time and missed opportunities to complete testing during the first day of my cycle. A friend of mine reported a nearly identical experience, suggesting this is not an isolated issue. After five years of appointments with this office, I feel both Dr. Truong and Dr. Makhani treated me more like a number than a patient. Communication is inconsistent, follow-through is lacking, and even important health concerns--like monitoring ovarian cysts--were dismissed. Even my daughter did not feel comfortable there. At this point, I am starting over to find a gynecologist and HRT specialist who listens, communicates clearly, and follows through.
