The chicken was not my fave, me and my friend both felt it needed more seasoning. The fries were also a 10/10 as they give you A LOT for the price. Could easily be shared between two people. The different options at Chando's set it apart from any other Mexican restaurants. They have vegetarian options, seafood, and more variety of meats than anyone else. This review is for the Chando's Taco food truck at an event. We ordered 2 carne asada burritos and 2 pork adobada burritos and both kinds were good but too salty. My husband did kind that there's little to no rice, I don't think there's any in there, which is what he prefers. It's a lot of protein with mostly meat, plus the pico de Gallo, cheese, and we asked for salsa on the side instead of in the burritos. They were made quickly and served warm and packaged well. Service was fast, polite, and professional. There's no ambiance since it was at an event, so it wasn't at the restaurant, but we enjoyed our burritos at a picnic bench and we also got chips and mild salsa Verde with a drink. Everything was delicious, but again kind of salty. Portions were big so we split the burritos and only ate 2 and saved the other 2 for later. Chandos, chandos......chandos ‍ First, I have to start off by saying I have been a patron of Chando's for many years and have seen the growth and expansion of the business and I'm so proud of you all. That being said, I ordered Chando's through a third-party delivery service. I don't remember. When I received my food, it was at first glance, aesthetically appealing, and I was excited to devour. The seasoning of the food was top-notch, which is the only reason I give you a slight pass. We ordered the three street tacos which were stuffed with toppings which I love however, the tortillas weren't crisp but either soggy from the juice or from the condensation through travel. It's stuck like glue to the parchment paper, making it very difficult to enjoy as the tacos breakdown in your hands We also ordered a loaded fry, which was also loaded with meats and toppings. Once I started eating it, I noticed that the fries were not cooked all the way through and you can taste that they were not fresh but seemed previously frozen. Upon skipping around the fries and through the toppings is where I discovered the huge grease puddle that was slowly building and taking over the fries. It quickly turned to mush, which forced me to not be able to finish it. Chandos, you have a great product however I feel either the process is being rushed or now due to great expansion corners are being cut, which makes me very sad. On April 2, 2026 I have the Ensenada fish tacos delivered to my home. On March 31, 2026 I had some really great fish tacos at Sack city brews a brew pub near my home. The tacos from Chando's there were two were not good at all. The fish was not crunchy. I did have a crunchy bit at first, but then the rest of them were just soggy. I don't even think they were fried they were they were cooked, but they were not fried and crispy as I had expected. The cabbage was minimal and the sauce was at times too spicy and at times not spicy enough. I think they just popped it on instead of pouring it in a thin strip. I had also ordered a side of sour cream, which was not with my order. I have tried Tondo tacos in this past and I remembered that they were OK not great. I should've known better. I came here on a Taco Tuesday where most of their tacos are $2.50. I love how they have a variety of vegetarian tacos. From my experience, they do rotate their Taco Tuesday menu but always have vegetarian options on the list. My friend and I each ordered a veggie, papas, and espinicas taco. Food came out super quick and hot. My favorite was the papas tacos since it was deep fried filled with mashed potato. The veggie and espinicas tacos was also really good but was a bit too salty for me. I recommend grabbing some of their green and red sauce at the sauce station and drizzling them on your tacos for maximum flavor. Would visit again for more Taco Tuesdays! read more

The carne asada burrito I tried here was terrible. It was loaded with lots of fillers like chopped lettuce, pico-de-gallo, guacamole, cilantro, diced onions, cheese and tomatoes. (I am glad I asked them not to add the sour cream.) The meat was dry, too chewy and overly seasoned. Rolled inside a poorly pan-fried tortilla shell that was already cracking in the middle when I removed the wrappings. The edges were cold. The much hyped burrito totally bombed. Very disappointing. Its loyal patrons and Sacramentans love Chando's. But you have heard the idiom that "love is blind." They obviously lack taste perception as well. Not good. I used to love Chandos but something has seriously changed and not for the better. My boyfriend and I went for some tacos and taquitos and the taquitos were soo sweet in flavor and the meat in the tacos is just so dry, there are tons of black particles in the drinks because the ice is dirty. Do not come here unless you want to get sick. I have felt nauseous ever since I ate the first taco. Overall service was great. They're really nice and kindly to give you extra condiments if you ask vs to charging you extra. Ohh I love how they have extra special drinks like melon, horchata etc at no extra cost. The melon drink was good not too sweet just right and refreshing. I love the order 3 taco combo (quesabirria tacos) and come with a drink. I also upgrade it to the bigger tortilla 6" $2 more. Meat is pack on it but the cheese was a little short. In my mind I had a total different perception of the location of this place. Although it is a sit down restaurant, the appearance gave me the feeling of fast food. We ordered the birria tacos. And the blue chip asada nachos with a side of pinto beans. The Birria tacos , honestly I have had better from a birria taco truck. The tacos here were extremely fatty and much smaller with portions. I was not able to get rice, because they do not prepare rice. BUT the pinto beans were very delicious! They have a good variety of drinks and you can purchase alcohol. Pretty good deal since one costs close to $4 on a regular day. The staff don't wear masks. The service was okay. They call your name, and you pick up your order at the counter. Everyone dining in gets their food on a tray, but they didn't give me one for some reason, which was slightly inconvenient. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and an asada taco. The chicken quesadilla was pretty standard as they come, not noteworthy for the $13-14 price point. I work nearby and my co worker and I decided to try this place out. We placed an order online; I got the burrito bowl and she got a burrito. When we sat down for lunch, we both realized that these didn't come with rice which seems odd, you would think that's one of the main ingredients. Anyways, I believe that has to be added on for an additional cost. So if that's what you're expecting, don't forget to add that on! Needless to say, I was still hungry after eating my bowl which basically just had chicken, beans and salsa even though I requested no beans. We found this little out-of-the-way place because we were in the neighborhood for another event. So glad we did! The line was pretty long but we were at the front so that was nice. It did seem to move a bit slow, just for reference. We ordered a variety of tacos including carnitas, carne asada, and pollo asado. Fresh ingredients. Flavorful meats. Possibly house made tortillas (?) - everyone approved. But the best thing ever was my quesataco!! I have been eating low-carb for over a year and have no problem enjoying things without the tortillas. I have never been to a restaurant where they make a cheese shell like this and I was in heaven! They definitely have it down pat because the outside was crispy but the inside was cheesy, gooey goodness. The grilled chicken, cilantro and onions plus salsa we're great addition. If I were to return in the area, I would add some fresh ingredients like lettuce and tomato just to balance out the fattiness of the cheese but overall it was so tasty that I talked about it for the next hour as we drove to our final destination. Prices were a bit high but I'm only comparing to where I live. The street-sized tacos were $2.50-3.50 each. So good! read more

Came here on a recommendation from my supplier since the location was close to where I was at. Arrived around 2 pm for a late lunch and was very dissatisfied by the preparation of the carne asada burrito which was wrapped poorly and caused the ingredients to fall out towards the end of my meal. Whoever prepared the burrito did not drain the steak pieces that were in its own juices before placing it in the tortilla. Either they did not use a slotted spoon or if they did - just didn't care which resulted in my picture that I posted. I would have gone to Oscar's for Mexican on Harbor ( been several times when in Sac) but would have been going in the opposite direction. read more

This place fell off MAJORLY!!! Recently went in for a Al Pastor/Adobada burrito asked for extra meat on it and when I took a bite into there was barely any meat in it which I paid extra for it!!! Called them regarding this and supposedly that was the correct portion for the extra meat, Chando's used to be really good a few years back, it seems like they don't care about the quality anymore, burritos should be called wet burritos with all the soggy veggies they put in it, the Al Pastor/Adobada meat isn't even cooked through vertical rotisserie anymore, if you keep this up you're really going to loose customers like me. The food is good, but their prices have gotten way WAY out of control. It's just not worth their prices. I imagine they're so high because they've expanded too quickly and owe their investors a return that requires them to charge way too much for what you get.
