I'm a huge supporter of their work, not only because i have a few singers in the chorus, but also because of what the organization adds to Phoenix! The ensemble is appropriately challenging, but welcoming to any and all voice types. There are different groups within the organization, so whether a singer is brand new to music, or a pro, they will find a great fit! There is great camaraderie among the singers and each girl is expected to learn, laugh, and grow. Highly recommended for their great concerts and their mission!

Sure, we all read these stories in school, but to hear them delivered in this fashion accentuates the beautiful poetry of his prose -- the natural rhythm he expertly creates by organizing his words -- and brings keen awareness to his mastery of language. Which is especially awesome because it's performed by players of Arizona Curriculum Theater (http://www.curriculumtheater.com/), a non-profit organization bringing classical literature, arts, history, sciences, and mathematics to life in classrooms and libraries across Phoenix, and driven by the mission to use the power of the arts to promote literacy, engage students, and make education more fun and accessible -- something they do very well!

I've been here recently now for 2 shows that I would call nontraditional, but man, they were great shows, and I had such a blast. The layout of the theater is great. I was on the 1st level for one show and on the 2nd level for the 2nd one. Despite being on the 2nd level, it still gave a personal feel and kept us engaged. If you don't like heights, make sure to arrive early to get in the lower level, as once you're on the upper level, it does go shallow & up. Getting cocktails from the bar downstairs typically has a long line, but if you go upstairs, there's usually another make-shift bar to help offset it. I didn't take advantage of any parking, as I used a ride service to the venue, as I just wanted to get dropped off at the door. It's hit or miss with parking, especially if there is something going on at the arena (basketball, concert, baseball game, etc...) Looking forward to the next event.

We walked to the venue, so I have no comment about parking. However, our show was supposed to start at 9:30pm, but the earlier showing was running a little late and so we were waiting outside for quite a while before we could choose our seats. We were invited to enter the lobby area of the building to order drinks, use the restroom, and buy some merch, so that helped to pass the time. Since I paid for Row A seating (the closest to the stage aside from the VIP section), I was invited to sit anywhere in those rows- so the rows themselves were reserved, but no specific seats, so you'll still have to call dibs on your preferred spot. As a 5 ft 8 in woman, the seating felt a little tight for my liking. Most people stood up for me to get passed them, aside from one lady, and when I walked past her I was worried my hips would smack her face. Other than that, I didn't have any problem watching the performance- nobody blocked my view and I think if I sat further away, I'd still have a decent view of the stage. We had a heckler in the crowd who kept yelling obscenities as the host of the show, fortunately by the second act he was removed from the event. There was a 15 minute intermission for the show, which was a good opportunity for more drinks or a bathroom break. I recommend using the restrooms on the second floor, as they are more hidden than the first floor. I'm glad I went to this event, and I would consider returning to the Herberger Theater Center when they have any other fun events in store.

If you didn't know where it was you could miss it. That's the only negative thing I can say about this place. The lobby has plenty of seating areas with sofas, which is a really nice touch. There is a gift shop with many lovely gifts, and the concession stand with cocktails, wine, so does, and water is incredibly reasonably priced compared to other venues. What really makes this place stand out is that there is not a single bad seat in the house. The show we were at did not have a lot of choices left when we we're looking for tickets, and I was concerned that we would have bad seats. That is impossible here. This is a great venue and I'll be looking into more shows here because of the fantastic seating arrangement.

We went to watch The Phoenix Symphony performing with Troupe Vertigo: Cirque Carmen. It was a magnificent combination of orchestral music with aerial acts, dance, and circus style performances. The seats were very comfortable and the quality of acoustics was fantastic. Make sure you take a clear bag or a small purse (8.5" x 5.5") as they do have a bag policy. Large purses and backpacks are not allowed. They also use metal detectors and have security screening. I'd definitely love to go see another performance here.

This is a family owned business. Which means that the owners are family, the teachers are family,…read morethe majority of the kids who go here are somehow related and not only are the related but the overwhelming majority of those who go to this dance studio are of one religion. The dancers here live for the Christmas production of the Nutcracker. But, if you're not a member of "the family" and if you're not a member of the overwhelming predominant religion of the dance studio you can be assured that your child will not get a good part. They will likely have a small part and will play that same small part year after year after year. They also have a dance teacher, Larry, who is very rude. He yells at the children, tells them to shut up, is disrespectful and has even made comments about the girl's weight. If your daughter is in ballet and wants to move up, she will have no option but to have Larry as a teacher. I have called about his behavior and been told that management knows about it but there's nothing they can do. There are much better dance companies out there. Companies that are fair, that give everyone a chance and who protect kids from bullish behavior.

I am not related to anybody who went there or taught there. Nobody ever asked me what religion I was and it never came up in any of our classes or anything else. It's true that the students there live for the Nutcracker. It is the biggest production of the year. Larry never came off rude to me. He has a very very large group of kids to work with during Nutcracker practices and he can get stern. I was a bigger dancer and nobody ever said anything to me about my weight. They always had to make a new costume for me for Nutcracker production because I was bigger. Nobody seemed to notice or care. I always had lead roles even being bigger. I know the same people still run this studio and teach there and that is the only reason I am writing this 18 years later because it is still valid. I feel they are very good about giving deserving girls good parts. Moms don't always know how good their child really is cause they are seeing them through mom eyes but they have always been fair with the parts.
