We had our rehearsal dinner at the beautiful barn on their property. The inside of the barn is absolutely gorgeous and didn't really need to be decorated as the appearance is gorgeous as is and they had some decorations already there. It was so easy and so much fun, everyone was able to relax and enjoy our time together. The ceremony was beautiful as was the reception. The spot is incredibly gorgeous. They had all tables, chairs, linens and everything else we needed to accommodate the 150 people that were there. We couldn't have done it without Julie, Charles and there beautiful family that put in so much effort and made us feel at home. We highly recommend this venue and couldn't be happier. The room is really spacious-- a king-sized bed, table and chairs, and plenty of floor space. Jacuzzi tub and a large bathroom. It looks right out over the river, so you can watch the tide go in and out; we even saw a pair of bald eagles. You can walk down to the river and to the Downeast Sunrise trail, which we biked on. It's extremely quiet, aside from road noise. The hosts are very responsive and were flexible with my schedule. If I am ever back in Machias I will definitely stay here again. Be forewarned that if you want breakfast, your choices are Dunkin Donuts or drive a long way to a different town. Everything in Machias opens at 11:00.
