Do not go here! This place seems professional on the outside but is rude and disrespectful when…read morehandling patients. I found this place on a whim because I was looking for a local dentist who could handle my specific situation. The place on yelp seemed great from the reviews. I called the office to explain, in detail, the at I needed a crown and stressed the fact that do not want to be a cash patient, and would not want to be seen for an initial consultation unless this was something they could accommodate. They looked into it and called me to say they could and booked me an appointment. I went in spoke to the dentist who gave me an estimate. Again, they were completely aware of my situation of not wanting to be cash patient. They booked me for the appointment to start the process, which included anesthesia and heavy drilling. I sat in the chair for almost 2 hours (could feel the drilling) and was told if I wanted to be numbed in that area, I'd need another shot. Ummm.. pause. When they were done w the first part, they said I'd just need to wait 30 min for the tooth. The dental assistant walked me out to the front desk to which, the office person (Monica) quoted me, "That will be $1300." I'm like ok? I mentioned I'm not a cash patient. Then she said, "I'm the person you spoke to and I never agreed to this. Are you accusing Dr. Liu and I of lying to you?? I won't let them finish drilling you the crown unless you pay today $1300." I was in shocked with how she was treating me at that point as if I'm trying to walk out after getting drilled for 2 hours.I agreed because I just wanted to get out of there and when I looked down on my phone to transfer money on my bank account, she said "well they're not ready for you and you can't stand there. Patients walk by that area." Um mamn, this is where the dental assistant walked me to and where you check out, where the f else am I supposed to stand?? And mind you, there were NO patients at the time in the waiting area. I decided that I didn't want to pay anyone demanding $1300 and treating me like shit, so I asked about my other options. She said she can give a temporary crown. Later that week, I was told they do not want to finish the process on my tooth leaving me with temporary fake tooth. Shame on them. Isn't this malpractice ??? I wouldn't recommend this place at all for this unprofessionalism in handling this situation and treated a patient for something that could've been handled if they were respectful and professional. I've never had any dental office treat me this way and I'm glad I did not give this place one penny.

BEWARE OF INVISALIGN AT PROHEALTH DENTAL…read more First, I want to give credit where it's due: the front desk staff and dental assistants are great, and Jeff, the dental hygienist, is gentle and professional. However, my experience with Invisalign at this office over the past two years has been deeply disappointing. I had just switched to ProHealth Dental and came in for a routine check-up and Invisalign consultation. I expected to receive information, but the dentist immediately took molds of my teeth and submitted my insurance--without giving me time to consider or sign any consent forms. I went along with it, which I now regret. From the very first round of trays, I noticed I couldn't chew properly. When I brought it up, Dr. Jeffrey Lu said it was normal and would improve as the treatment progressed. I trusted the process and continued. After completing my full set of trays, I still needed refinements--especially on a lower tooth. Dr. Lu had mentioned early on that I barely qualified for Invisalign due to my tooth spacing, and in hindsight, I likely wasn't a good candidate. I've now gone through five rounds of refinements, and my teeth are still not straight. After the first three, they charged $165 per additional refinement--on top of the $4,300 I already paid. When I asked about more refinements, I was told things like: "There's only so much plastic can do." "Sometimes it can only get up to 90%." "Are you sure you want another refinement?" Yes, I am sure. I got Invisalign to straighten my teeth. But the bigger issue came toward the end of treatment when I realized I still couldn't chew properly. I started researching and discovered Invisalign can alter your bite, preventing your back teeth from closing. That explained everything. My back teeth weren't touching, and I couldn't chew meat or fibrous vegetables. I can also see in the mirror that my bite was open. Dr. Lu never mentioned this was a potential side effect. At my next visit, I brought it up again. He checked and confirmed I couldn't close my bite, but said, "Well, one side is better." That wasn't helpful--I still couldn't chew on either side. When I asked for solutions, I was told my options were: 1. Grind down my front teeth 2. Add crown build-up to the back 3. Get orthodontic braces After two years of Invisalign, I now need braces? Dr. Lu then said Invisalign is mainly for aligning front teeth--not correcting bite issues--and that they weren't responsible for my back teeth. I was never told this when starting treatment. I wasn't given a consent form or warned about any of these risks, which I believe is malpractice. This is a general dental office, not an orthodontic practice. They take molds, send them to Invisalign, and that's it. Dr. Lu clearly lacks orthodontic expertise--I found more helpful info on Reddit than I did in his office. He also couldn't address the "black triangles" that formed between my teeth after treatment. When I asked, he said he could "barely see them" and brushed it off. If you're considering Invisalign, go to a licensed orthodontist, not a general dentist. If I had been told that Invisalign doesn't treat bite issues, I would've chosen braces from the beginning. They now claim they told me about these limitations "verbally," which I do not recall. I asked for signed consent paperwork at my last visit--they had none. I'm currently trying to negotiate a refund. I used up my one-time $1,000 insurance benefit and now need to go to an orthodontist and get braces, which will cost me several thousand dollars more. I believe I deserve a full refund for the lack of disclosure and poor outcome of my treatment.
