Nice people too! Going through town you'll see the hill with every year painted on it since.. 1930? Maybe I saw 26 too. All I can say is that the fact that we can see spray paint from 100 years ago is testament to their lack of precipitation! Not a lot of weathering going on on that hill. Some may say it's a little tacky, but I say, good for you, Arco! You have an Art Installation!

That being said Arco is pretty dull and could be more interesting. It really could be more interesting, but Google maps was bored as soon as I arrived. The apps on my phone were pointing out events in Spokane, Washington. There are a few points of interest yet they are as unknown as the fact that Arco is the first town in the country that has power from a nuclear plant. What makes this town a little sketchy is that you don't know if there is radiation. Most people suspect a leak, but the government is indicating that nothing is wrong. Next time I come I'm probably going to bring a Geiger counter. What is really interesting is when you are just a few minutes outside of Arco you see all of these numbers on the side of the hill. It was a little shocking, but as I got closer it looked similar to the graffiti on the way to the Black Canyon Dam. I asked one of the locals. He chuckled and explained for a while the adults were irritated with students going up there to spray paint the hill, but eventually the adults started to take pride in this graffiti. They take so much pride in this they even have post cards of this hill in the store. Besides the hill there are other points of interest. I heard there was a submarine and there are arches. They do have a sign about Atoms for Peace, but it is right next to a baseball field. I think that it is funny that a place like this is right in the middle of all of these national parks and they just decided to use the town as some guinea pig for nuclear power. South of Arco we have Craters of the Moon and Sun Valley and up north are the Tetons. There is much here to see that does not get very much attention. I may come again just to check things out. More reviews to come in the near future.

Oh man what can I say…read more So I was so excited to visit one of the biggest bazaars in the world As soon as I arrived my and I got take advantage by snake charmers who wanted to charge us a lot for a pic and they surrounded us After that we went into a shop and the guy started mocking my voice because I was woah that's pricey for some knockoff sunglasses I wanted to hopefully buy and he was so rude Walking into those right alleyways sharing with bicycles motorcycles small cars and people is a bit claustrophobic and every vendor is wanting your attention You get lost super fast and they can tell and you end up in small square after small square One guy tried to rob us by trying to get us out of the square to "help" us get to the main big square People have told me to never go here without a guide so that's my advice to you all Reason I'm not giving it a 1 is because ultimately the bazaar despite all these things is an experience and it's pretty cool looking down and around and being a part of it all as a tourist learning their culture and trying to be understanding but yeah it was rough and now I laugh about it all

This place is a nice…read morehistoric gem; they've restored it/kept it in great condition, including the original theater seats. The parental units were camped at the Glenn's Ferry campground in their monster RV, so we went to a dinner theater show for $30 per person. The meal was fantastic: huge steak, even bigger baked potato, salad, bread, great lemonade, even a little dessert. My meal was so large that I could have split it with another person. The show was cute, though patrons must remember that this is a small-town operation. Don't expect Broadway acting and theatrics; the actors forgot their lines a few times, it was hard to hear some of them (though some of them had mics, some didn't), the acting isn't Tony-award material = it's not an expensive production, so don't expect one. It was a quaint, quirky-in-a-good-way little production though and a nice way to spend an evening with the parental units. I could tell that the actors and theater proprietors care about their little theater and its productions, which made the whole thing special. Overall, I'd recommend this for a nice small-town evening.
