Wow. First, we love visiting libraries, especially in rich ski towns. They are free, warm, quiet, and have books, puzzles, games, free bathrooms, and sometimes programs and storytimes. We've been to many around the country during snow storms or just to visit. Today was a beautiful day and my kids and I walked from the ski village to the downtown Ketchum area, had pizza, did some shopping, and walked over here. They have this great room for kids to chill and read and we were the only ones in there. What a lovely place filled with free books you can read! read more

Great library, with outstanding services and quiet work spaces. The reservable workshop space was especially nice!

When I was packing our raincoats for our Sun Valley vacation my 3 year old said "but mom..it's always sunny in SUN Valley!" For the most part we were blessed with beautiful sunshine, but did have 2 coldish/rainy days where those coats were put to use. And since the weather wasn't a good fit for the hiking, biking & other outdoors excursions we love we made our way to the library to keep the kids busy for a few hours. I have to admit that I didn't expect much from a library in such a small town, but was impressed to see that this library may be larger than most of the ones we frequent back home. They have an impressive children's section and bring in a variety of guests throughout the week for storytime, science, etc. My kids had so much fun here (they especially loved the room with puzzles and other toys within the childrens section) that we came back for science day on a sunny day. And based on the crowd it looks like the science lady as her fair share of regulars. This past week she taught the kids all about fish. My own kids enjoyed it for about 15 minutes (short attention spans), but she's apparently able to engage the regulars for an hour each week. I learned this is one of the few private libraries in the country. And w/ the exception of the uptight librarian who insisted my son wash his hands before touching her computer I liked it. This proved to be a great activity for a cold/rainy or even a sunny SUN Valley did! read more

This is a wonderful community library. The building is beautiful, and warm/cool according to the season, the staff are all sweethearts - so helpful - and people are just happy when they come into this space. I loved the meeting rooms - fantastic facility to have, and great internet too. read more

Super cool! Renovations are super cool and modern looking! Lots of books too! Checked out the new teen section too! Librarians are super nice but Nicole was my fav. Very sweet and funny! Good location too, near some shops if you want to shop afterwards! read more

Supported by the Gold Mine second hand store a block away this incredible gem of a library is beyond belief...grab something to read or not and sit by the fireplace in retro leather chairs...relax...have a look at the journal of Capt. Cook's voyage on display...not in plexiglas...in the raw...put on the cotton gloves and turn a page...the book is hundreds of years old...be careful...it is a treasure donated by a gentleman who did not want it in plexiglas...he wanted you to touch it...wow!... read more
