He was sad when we left and when we found out about Team Tooke I asked him to try it out. My son LOVES it here! Professor Tooke and JP are so sweet and welcoming. We love all the professors and coaches that are apart of this Team Tooke academy because they all have genuine interest and connections with all of their students. My son asks me to go EVERYDAY. Professor Jae & Professor Cody teach my kiddo along with amazing coaches Gary, Eddie, Javi, and etc. since day one they made an effort to KNOW my child, teach and encourage. Team Tooke also makes sure he's not only successful in the Dojo but at life/home skills as well! I am so proud to be apart of the Team Tooke community and encourage you to make that phone call and check it out for yourself! My son loves it so much he told his friends about it and their parents even signed up their children! And it all begins with Professor Tooke And JP themselves! Tell them you read Jennifer's Post and go try it out for yourself or your kiddo! You won't regret it!!!!

The instructor Prof Art Alvarado goes on to question why he wants to join and then decides that my boyfriend wouldn't be fit to join the gym. Prof Alvarado never answered my Bf question about the estimates, instead makes it a personal matter on how he is old school and assumes my BF wouldn't like the gym. The conversation was truly unprofessional. For someone asking for basic information Prof Alvarado surely did a good job at rejecting a prospect client. The professionalism is at a low level. If I could give this zero stars, I would.

I was happy to learn that Patrick was knowledgeable and clear in his instruction. He added some wholesome humor and was also very humble. He was clearly the pro in the room, but didn't make any of us feel inferior to his expertise. I am really happy with my new jiu jitsu self-defense moves I learned. God forbid I ever have to use them! Nonetheless, great to have, especially being a woman. If you're extremely uncomfortable with close physical contact with strangers, bring a friend or family member for partnering, orrrr try golf lol. You do get up close and personal. I wouldn't want my husband partnering with anyone but me. Just sayin'. There are a few benches for any who'd like to watch quietly. Liability waivers are prepared for signing before class. Not sure how Japanese do jiu jiutsu in comparison to Brazil, but I'm diggin' Brazil. Maybe you will too. Enjoy!

I bumped into the owner (TKD & BJJ Black Belt instructor) Jimmy Holmes before they opened this new location as I was peering through the windows after getting a coffee next door. I ended up getting a full tour of the facility & the plans for their use of the back building to be a competition/tournament sized mat space with a weight training setup as well. It is a beautiful facility, they're still doing upgrades here & there, but my favorite little fact about it is that the dumbbell rack in the back goes all the way up to 150lbs!! They offer a great selection of youth classes with a mix of high level men & women instructors. The team, THE TEAM!! They have competition medal winners across the board in martial arts & a great team atmosphere! Boys, girls, men, women, tons of competitors & winners, but minimal ego. Personally, I was only living here while I completed an internship for my degree program, but they've been very welcoming & accommodating during my short stay with them. I look forward to visiting in the future & getting some rolls in on a Sunday Open Mat or Warrior Wednesday where we just roll 10 rounds in lieu of a structured BJJ class. All love, I'll be back!
