We put two kids through drivers education here. The instructors are good and the classroom…read moreeducation is very good. The driving instructors are good too, and actually teach rather than text or run errands like some of the other schools. The reason why they only get 2 stars is because of their driving lesson scheduling and management. We paid up-front for the entire program, but it doesn't matter, you will take at least 5 months to get your kids all their required driving hours because of their scheduling system. Here's how it works: You sign up for an account online, and every Sunday night at 7:30, the system opens a block of driving lesson appointments that you can book. You cannot book more than one to occur every week. And, since EVERY student in the school is logging in at 7:30 Sunday night to book an appointment, because appointments are scarce, you have about a 5 - 10 minute window to book a time, or you're out of luck for the week. Think about this -- if for any reason you cannot get online at 7:30 Sunday night or you're a little slow and the available times are taken, you will be bumped back at least a week, probably 2. You need to book 12 hours total, so your best case scenario is 12 weeks. But, it's more probable you're going to be around 18 or even 20 weeks, which is around 5 months. If you call and try to book a time over the phone because you cannot login at 7:30 Sunday night, you're likely to be told tough luck. We've had the occasional instructor try to book our kids driving lessons during morning hours not using the online system, but they've had their hands slapped by management. If you are looking to take driver's ed and finish up in a few months, do not go to Avon Academy/The Driving School.

This school is a complete disappointment and needs to be investigated. I was charged for my CDL…read morepermit even though it was clearly listed as included in my tuition. That's dishonest and unacceptable. The CDL training itself is completely unprofessional and unorganized. There's no real structure, no consistent instruction, and the instructors don't take the time to actually teach or prepare students properly. You're basically left to figure things out on your own after paying thousands of dollars. Even worse, I noticed clear unfair treatment among students -- white students are allowed to retest sooner while Black students are made to wait much longer. That kind of discrimination has no place in any educational program, especially one that's supposed to help people build careers. If you're serious about getting your CDL, save your time and money and go somewhere that actually trains you and treats everyone equally. This place does not.

I regret signing up with 160 Driving Academy in Brockton, MA. They advertise a 4-week program to…read moreget your CDL, but that's far from the truth. I finished my training, got my learner's permit, and was ready for the road test. Other students told me the wait for the test was about 3 weeks, which was already frustrating but seemed okay. Now it's been 7 weeks, and I still don't have a test date. The branch manager, Jennifer, has been incredibly rude and unhelpful throughout this process. She ignored my texts and calls for days. When I finally got her on the phone, she just said, "I don't know when you'll get a test," and then hung up on me--not just once but several times! It's clear she doesn't care about the students once they've paid their money. To make things worse, I emailed customer care over 24 hours ago, hoping they could help resolve the situation. Still no reply. At this point, I feel completely abandoned by this school. This delay has cost me so much time and money. I could have started working by now, but instead, I'm stuck waiting with no answers or solutions. If I had known this is how they treat students, I would have gone to another school, even if it cost more. If you're thinking about going here, don't. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
