Ever since moving here from the States, I've been in search of a good pizza. Yeah, there are lots of okay pizzas in Barcelona, but they all... lack something. Everyone seems to be trying to make that extraordinary pie without first learning how to properly make an ordinary pie. See what I mean? It's like putting a Bose sound system in an '82 Pinto.
That said, this little place does their pizza pretty well. I've tried three different varieties so far, and found them to be really flavorful! There's plenty of cheese and toppings; the underlying sauce is good (with just a touch of oregano), and the crust is thin, and clearly NOT mass-produced.
This place is a bit bigger than most neighborhood restaurant/bars. They have a wide screen TV and the kitchen is in the middle - so you can look in as you walk to your table. The staff is friendly, and although Catalan is the primary language here, it's easy to get by in Castilian. If you only speak English though, don't worry - many of their menu items have pictures. Buen provecho! read more
