Came here for a pre-New Year's massage to jump into the new year with all good vibes and fresh muscles from all the wear and tear from work haha! I received a gift card from my wife for father's day, but this place stays so booked, that I finally booked it 6 months later! I opted for a 90-min signature massage from Juliet D and it was AMAZING! I'm not the type to want a massage, but I will get one if it was a gift or if I'm doing a couples massage. Juliet worked my knots in my back and really focused on them to ensure they would loosen up. Now the after effect of the massage I felt like I was just leaving a street fight, but after some hydration and some heating pads, I was back to normal. Once everything returned back to normal, I can honestly say that I can tell a huge difference with my range of motion as well as my overall movement. The only downfall is that they raised their prices again as of Dec 2022 which is disappointing, but I will be back! read more

Message therapists are very good if you can get an appointment. Most evening appointments are at least 10-14 days in advance. If you request a specific message therapist or message then you can wait a month or more. They charge $79/month regardless of whether you have an appointment or not. I have been living in Paris for the past 6 years and have had massages everywhere from San Diego to Shanghai... I have been trying to find a Thai massage in Paris that matches the quality of Champaka and I am still looking! I make a detour here every time I'm in town. Lamai, the receptionist staff, and the masseuses are all true professionals who are polite and attentive. I do not go to one particular therapist because the quality of the massage is consistently excellent from one therapist to another - I've probably seen over a dozen therapists as I've coming here since around 2015. The massage area is clean and has a relaxing ambiance. I've never had a negative experience. The word has gotten out about how great this place is and massages book up quickly, so make sure to schedule in advance. I have been going here for 17 months now. Everyone I have seen for a massage has been awesome! Today I had a traditional Thai massage by PJ. (He's my preferred massage therapist.) I was in Thailand in February and got a massage every chance I could. My traditional Thai massage today exceeded the ones I had in Thailand! It was so good and I left feeling amazing. I have two herniated discs and had rotator cuff surgery. I came home feeling like a brand new person! For about the last 6 months, I have been bringing my adult son with special needs along and having a massage done in the couples room so if he needs anything I am close to him. Rin has been great with him! She's patient and kind and recognizes his needs. He loves getting massages by Rin! I highly recommend this place! I like deep tissue, elbows and knees in my back and this did not disappoint. I have had both a table massage and a traditional Thai massage and will never get anything other than a Thai massage as long as I live. Amazing 90 minute with Deidre. Highly recommend her. I've been getting massages for almost 10 years, and I can tell you this is the first time I actually felt refreshed and ALSO realigned. Went to work with total comfort. She really helped the proper muscle groups release tension, do what they are supposed to do. I sat up and immediately felt a difference in balance and pressure, more than the "ooh and ahh" of a few kinks coming out. I was recommended to come here about four years ago and haven't looked back since. At first I would book appointments far and few between. This year I decided to get a membership. The ladies at the front desk are very pleasant. Every massage therapist has been excellent. My preferred therapists is PJ. He listens to exactly what I need and I always leave feeling much better. I've had some knots in my upper back for awhile that were tough to release. I was very impressed when PJ was able to get my upper back to open up! I was skeptical with the 5 star reviews, however it's definitely worth 5 stars, I don't give too many 5 stars in businesses. The masseuse was a true professional who cared for their clients. I loved their service of traditional Thai massage. The right amount of pressure was applied too my body. I got the massage with the tiger balm because my back muscles was sore and it definitely relieved the pain. Thai massages come with stretching and flexing some body parts around joints to stretch the muscles. It's just like how I expected but better. The masseuse also explained why my spine was slightly misshapen due to my tightness in my legs and poor posture from sitting in a desk all day. She definitely knows what she's talking about. I am a 46 year old veteran with a history of back problems. In 2017 at 44 years old and 229 pounds, I decided that in order to prove that I am still a bad ass, I was going to run my first marathon. I started training in the spring for a fall race. In the thick of my training I was running over 60 miles a week. While I was losing weight, I am still very heavy for a runner. My old beat up body reminded me of it after every run. Song, Apple, Rin and several others (I can't always keep a schedule with the same therapist) helped me keep training through the minor injuries and pain. I always get deep tissue and they are not what can be described as relaxing but if it wasn't for the sessions at Chimpaka, I would not have been able to complete the 2017 USAF marathon. Now I am training for an ultra Marathon and going even more regularly. read more

The hubby got me a gift certificate for here as a birthday gift. I signed up online for the traditional massage, thinking it was like the ones I always get. Wrong! I'm not gonna lie it hurt like hell sometimes. And I burst out laughing at one point as she was twisting my body in ways it had no intention of going. You know when you laugh at an inappropriate time and then you can't stop. Yeah that was me. But I like to experience new things so I told myself to just get whatever gift it gave me. Still going here over a year later and have tried the Traditional Thai Massage, Ashiatsu (spelling??), and hot stone Massage. All amazing... so nice having consistency in every visit. The owner is very pleasant and I just found out they make their tea there. I'm not a tea drinker, but for some reason I wanted to try it after my last visit. Highly recommend it. So good! This was my first massage ever. Walking into this place I already felt relaxed and chill. Such a relaxing atmosphere. I waited in the lobby for a little bit before my masseuse "Ping" came to get me and sat me down in a chair before going into the room. In that chair she takes off your shoes and socks and cleans and massages your feet with some stuff that looks like cold wet salt and lemon, but feels good. After that she took me into the massage room where laid down and received a relaxing massage throughout my whole body. It felt so good and relaxing I had to catch my self from falling asleep a couple times. This is definitely a place to go and get away from everything and relax and get massaged. With CrossFit blessing us with many sore muscles, my husband and I visited Champaka on the recommendation of another member of our gym. We went a few days apart and each saw a different masseuse for a 90-minute Ashiatsu massage, and it was wonderful. They offer complimentary hot tea and water, and wash your feet with a citrus/salt scrub before going back to the room. The amount of pressure was perfect, the massage was thorough, the pricing is extremely competitive. We have been looking for a great massage in the NoVA area for years, and we've finally found the place where we will become regulars. They also accept SpaFinder gift cards, which can be bought at a discount at Costco. EDIT: I gave 5 stars after trying Ashiatsu, and now that I've done Traditional Thai I wish it were possible to add more stars. I LOVE this place. read more

I've had massages in Hawaii, Cancun, and tried every place near Gainesville. Champaka is hands down the best. Other places either go through the motions or make you pay out the nose. Champ aka was very reasonably priced, gave you 60 minutes of massage, and the quality was perfect. They were attentive to the areas where I hurt and used enough pressure that it wasn't just another back rub. I definitely intend to go back. You should too. read more

Best part of it all was that they actually give you the full massage time unlike most places. 60 minutes means receiving one full hour of massage time not 40 minutes of massage and 20 minutes prep time. My husband discovered this place and came home raving about it. He insisted that I book an appointment with Song for a deep tissue massage. I do a lot of intensive training and often have large knots in my back, so big that my range of motion is compromised. When you walk in the first impression is clean and serene. The people are friendly and courteous and the place is clean. I especially appreciate the hygienic method they use for foot baths. The treatment rooms are comfortable, clean, and oh so relaxing from the lighting to the music and aromatherapy. The massage beds and head cradles are exceptionally comfortable and preheated. The deep tissue/East Meets West is the massage I have booked three months in a row. Song is an exceptional therapist with obvious depth of knowledge in anatomical musculature. Though tiny, her strength is formidable! She worked my knotted muscles into submission! I'm just three treatments I have experienced an 80-85% reduction in the occurrence of what used to be routinely knotted muscles. The difference between the shape I was in for my first treatment and my third is night and day. Song is attentive to your problem areas and works to resolve them for you. She is brimming with helpful self care tips for between treatments and if all of that isn't enough, she's a genuinely nice person. I can't say enough good about her. I leave there feeling relaxed, flexible, and pliable. Oh, and the ginger tea and bananas post treatment are a perfect end to a restorative hour. I bought a family membership; my husband and I are using the heck out of it. I'm so glad to have access to this level of excellence so close to home. What a treat! read more
