Service was slow as was the resturaunt, so I wasn't sure why they weren't as attentive. I spoke Spanish and after the failed "sushi" I ordered chicken wings fried hard (dry) and they were "decent" along with the fried spring rolls. If you want sushi...go elsewhere!! They are decent for wings & egg rolls. Aside from that....dine at your own risk! (There's a Panda Express across the road if you need a super quick Asian foodie fix).

Not sure if it is properly a food truck or a taco stand, but a self contained trailer that serves…read moreat a fixed location. I heard the tripa (beef intestines) were really good here. Yes - well done, firm but not pork rind hard, not greasy , excellent. The caramelo - steak and cheese taco was good but not fabulous. The condiment bar was fresh with some really tasty , dangerously spicy home made sauces and relishes. (always treat unknow salsas not with fear, but with respect). Clean and shady tables on which to eat. This place is going into the regular rotation. Parking - driving through the gate and park in back. They told me there is not a problem with parking in front, the Villas supermarket side, but them you must walk around the trailer to get to the order window. Not sure how much English is spoken, although some in our group who ordered in English and it seemed to work OK. One of the six order came out wrong ( a carne asada instead of the bean, cheese, & meat sincronizada. ). He let it slide so I don't know how the correct would have worked.

We did a quick little breakfast trip across the border with my girlfriend and my dog and ended up…read moreat La Roca - such a beautiful spot. Walking in honestly feels like stepping into a hacienda. There's a gorgeous fountain in the center and a mix of seating areas - some more loungy if you're just having drinks, others perfect for coffee or a full breakfast. There's even an upper level with a bar-style balcony, which is where we sat, and it was such a great view. They are dog-friendly in the outdoor areas (I had mine in a stroller), and the staff could not have been more accommodating - they even helped me carry her up the stairs. Service overall was amazing. We had multiple servers checking on us, which just shows how well staffed and attentive they are, especially since it was pretty busy with the buffet crowd. We heard their buffet is really good, but we weren't quite that hungry, so we ordered off the menu. I got the huevos rancheros, and I'm not kidding - the beans alone made the whole trip worth it. I don't know what they're doing back there, but they need to keep doing it. The eggs and red sauce were also so good. My girlfriend got the chiles rellenos, and just watching her cut into them with that perfect cheese pull told me everything I needed to know - she confirmed they were delicious. The decor is beautiful and full of Mexican culture, the space feels really inviting, and overall it was just such a great experience. If you're in Nogales and want something nice without going too far into the city, this is literally right across the border and absolutely worth it.

But, gotta admit, it's very Mexican for the area. I parked right against the chainlink fence to keep my dog cool in the shade. It was past 5pm on a Monday night and daylight was waning. The place is small. You see the kitchen as soon as you walk in. You take a right turn into the dining area. The place looks old, but it was clean when I came by. The place wasn't very busy when I first walked in, but my entrance must have started the dinner rush. I sat against the window to have a clear view of my car. I ordered chicken enchiladas and it came out quickly. I also got a bowl of salty pasta soup. Service was prompt. My meal didn't look very appealing, but it wasn't bad. Just really salty for my taste. The chicken had some gristle in it. The beans were runny and on the salty side. But in the end, I ate it all because I was hungry. The meal was also very affordable for $12.99.
