I don't have any other heart institutes to compare this too, but I have sat in many doctors'…read moreoffices. At first I pulled up to the other heart place. Don't make this mistake, just make a left at the first heart building, or read signs, that may help too. I walk in and I'm immediately greeted and they take my insurance and gather new patient information. The waiting area is pretty big, with a tv and a beautiful view of Fresno. I am called back to the office. I didn't see Dr. Borneo, I actually can't remember the doctor's name, but she was very kind and attentive. I appreciated that she asked a lot of questions about not only my medical history but specific symptoms I was experiencing. But my favorite part of the experience actually had nothing to do with the doctors office. It was an older gentlemen, sitting in the waiting room, playing Talking Angela on his phone very loudly without headphones. Watching him play the same game my 7 year old daughter plays made me smile.

I haven't even made an appointment yet, and I'm already having the worst experience with this…read morelocation.I need to see a cardiologist after being in the ER for my heart. I have A-fib, and both my primary care doctor and ER doctor said I need to see a cardiologist immediately.I found out that this location does not accept patients on a sliding-scale fee program while I'm in the process of getting coverage. The receptionist quoted me almost $200 just for the consultation. I explained that I couldn't afford that, and she replied, "Well, then we won't be able to see you. You have to pay before you can be seen."I asked if they could bill me so I could make payments, but that wasn't an option. So now I'm stuck trying to find a cardiologist who will see me and allow me to make payments later.I can't believe money seems to be more important than someone's heart condition. While I was in the ER, a couple of patients overheard me being referred to this location and shared some not-so-positive experiences about the staff and the doctors. One patient told me that a receptionist embarrassed her when her debit card wasn't working. According to the patient, the receptionist became frustrated and raised her voice, saying, "Your card is declining. Can you use one of the other cards in your wallet?"I couldn't believe it when she told me that. In the end, the patient realized she had locked her debit card and didn't remember doing so until the conversation took place. However, because of the delay, she had to leave and reschedule her appointment. She was considered late, and they would no longer see her because the doctor does not accept patients who arrive late. Can anyone recommend a cardiologist who actually has a heart and isn't just in it for the money? Please let me know. I'm actively looking for recommendations. Note: I HAD to give 1star, by Yelps default, otherwise I give them a ZERO starts.

The only reason I gave any stars is because the dr is very good. However, they put no value in…read moretheir patients' time. I have never been there to see the Dr and waited less than 2 hours. I can understand an emergency coming up now and then, but when it's at least a 2 hr wait, there's no excuse. Patient appts should not be stacked up so that they are like a heard of cattle sitting and wasting precious time waiting so long. I have to take time off of work to sit there and then have to make up the lost work hours long into the night. With Covid especially, the waiting with people all around you is ridiculous and risky. Appt scheduling is another issue. There appears to be so much staff working there that it makes no sense that it takes so long for anyone to call you back. I went there yesterday just to get results of my annual treadmill test. It takes me 45 minutes each way from home to the dr's office. After sitting there 40 minutes waiting, I was called back to ask me whether I wanted to reschedule or wait 4 MORE HOURS! I was floored and said I drove all this way to sit for 40 minutes and then tell me it will be 4 more hours? Then she offered me a phone appt. Really? You mean that could have been an option all along? So she sent me back to the front to checkout and they didn't have an opening for a 2 minute phone call for one month! That's absurd! I think some restructuring of how the office operates is in order. It certainly would be great for their heart patients rather than stress them further! We need to feel valued as much as the doctors are.

We were in the waiting room at 12:30 and by 4:30 are still waiting on the provider... completely unacceptable. Even after multiple inquiries, the staff (which is kind, credit to them!) we're just told that it'll be "soon" or "you're up next" Beware... unless you enjoy waiting excessively.
