The school has done an amazing job not just teaching knowledge, but also guiding children in behavior, responsibility, and respect. We will truly miss this school year and all the kind, dedicated teachers and staff. Our daughter loved every one of them, and so did we. We're incredibly grateful for the nurturing and enriching environment that helped her thrive.

Our 3-year-old started…read morehere four months ago after transferring from a different school, and the difference we've seen has been remarkable. From the very beginning, the teachers and staff made our child feel welcomed, safe, and understood. The transition was handled with so much care and compassion--it made what could have been a stressful change feel seamless. We noticed right away how much more confident and independent our child became after just a few weeks. The environment is calm, thoughtful, and incredibly well-prepared. You can tell that everything in the classroom is designed with intention to encourage curiosity and hands-on learning. Our child comes home happy, talkative, and excited to share new things he's explored each day. He's even started doing things at home--like pouring his own water or putting his shoes away--that we never expected at this age! The communication from the school has also been excellent. We receive regular updates and photos, which help us feel closely connected to what he's experiencing day to day. We're so grateful to have found this community. If you're looking for a nurturing, engaging, and growth-oriented environment for your little one, we can't recommend MSN highly enough!

As evidenced by my previous reviews of this school, let me say I LOVE this school. It has been a…read moregreat experience for me and my kids. Throughout the changes in staff, it has consistently remained good. That is, until now. I do not understand what compelled the school to change to a new directress that has admitted that she has no experience whatsoever in heading a school. At first, I decided to give her a chance. Maybe its just being new to the job. But it has just been a constant disappointment for me. The reason why I send my kids to montessori is because I love the teaching style. Teachers should be observers and guides to the students -- not lecture them on how to learn. The first day my child came home from school, he told me, the teacher scolded him. He explained why and I said next time dont do that. And then he explained that they were taught as a group, lectured. Like regular school. Not a montessori school. Why would I send my kid to montessori if it was like this? Why pay for this? The emails are also not very professional and lack information. There is a lack of effort as to the reminders of events. There was supposed to be a halloween parade but there was no info as to what time. And upon arriving there, there was no preparation as to the music or what. During zoom parent teacher conference, we did not yet finish our call yet but another parent was already let in to the zoom call, forcing us to wrap up our call. I never see her during the mornings or afternoons. Previous directors would always be there. I feel like there is a misstep here. Appointing a directress who is so inexperienced that it leaves much to be questioned. I hope someone can fix this soon.

His confidence, speech and intellectual curiosity have all grown so much since he's joined (granted, this kid has never lacked confidence). Where I have seen incredible growth was his ability to focus and sit still. Ms. Madhu and the KLM teachers have been kind and caring and great to work with. Highly recommend. (Also should add that my son always raves about the fried rice for lunch).

My experience has been excellent. The staff is caring and attentive, and what I truly appreciate is the intimate and nurturing environment where each child receives personal attention. They focus on overall development and regularly update parents about the activities and learning experiences. They are also very accommodating when it comes to feeding homemade food, which is a huge plus for us. What stands out the most is how open and welcoming they are to feedback. I have noticed positive changes in my baby, and that makes me incredibly grateful. I sincerely thank the school for taking such wonderful care of my child and all the children there.

Mrs. Ratna (owner) is notably exceptional, excelling in creating engaging learning opportunities. Thanks to her methods, my children's academic journey has seen significant improvement. The institution maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization, with meals included in the fees, providing nutritious lunches that introduced my twins to 'panner.' This helped them learn to eat healthily and independently, adhering to their schedules rigorously. Additionally, the school offers amenities like a playground, robotics classes, dance class and art sessions at affordable rates. They also offers after school programs. The weekly Show and Tell sessions encouraged them to confidently craft and present their stories in-front of an audience. Participating in events such as science fairs, Indian Independence Day celebrations, Halloween parties, and Diwali festivities has brought immense joy to our family, creating unforgettable memories. Starting at three years old, my twins have now smoothly transitioned to kindergarten at the age of five. If they had a public school available in my locality, I would have enrolled my kids there without hesitation. For parents considering private elementary education, it's worth noting that Mrs. Ratna started New Horizon school in Newark. Please check it out!

Very different compared to other schools I toured. We were placed on a waiting list, enrolled our daughter at another preschool in the meantime and and nearly 18 months later we got a call saying there was an opening for her. Our daughter is extremely shy and has anxiety. Mr. Justin was the head teacher in her class at the time and was so wonderful in guiding and helping her. We chose to keep her at MVM through kindergarten because our younger daughter was also attending and we didn't want to have 2 separate drop off/pick ups. Fast forward to 2025 and we have ended our journey with MVM. Our girls have really enjoyed their time at this school. They have learned so much more than we could have imagined and have made some great friends. In addition to reading, writing (cursive too!) and math, they have been taught how to work with each other and independently, daily life skills, grace and courtesy. The environment is always calm and organized. The teachers and staff are so sweet and it really feels like you're part of a family. There aren't enough words to express our deepest gratitude for all that the MVM staff and teachers have provided for our family.

My daughter is always so excited to go to school each morning, which says it all. I can't recommend Mission Valley Montessori highly enough--it's truly a special place.

This place is a gem and we are so glad we found this place. My daughter first started in the toddler class with Ms. Karla. This class is a smaller size of 6 kids so it gives first time parents ease of a smaller group setting after coming out of the Pandemic. Ms. Karla is very caring and helped my daughter learn different skills and helped made potty training easy. After toddler class, my daughter moved on to primary class with Ms. Zahra and Ms. Nirmala for the next 2 years. Ms. Zahra and Ms. Nirmala are both very caring teachers. It took my daughter awhile to feel comfortable speaking in big groups but with Ms. Zahra and Ms. Nirmala's teaching and encouragement, my daughter became more confident over time and even raised her hands to participate in class. I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in my daughter in the last 2 years. In the afternoon, my daughter also went to the older kids' class with Ms. Michelle. By mixing different aged kids together, the kids learn from each other and this also helped my daughter grow. What made the experience even more special at this school was also how involved the parent community is here. The parent community became such a supporting system and we even planned regular playdates outside of school. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We miss this place; even though we no longer go to this school, we plan to keep in touch with this community.

Our son enrolled at the Bayne Avenue campus in March 2024, around the time the new management assumed leadership. While we initially had some reservations during this transition, it has proven to be an excellent decision, and we now feel he joined at exactly the right time. From the outset, it was evident that the school is firmly grounded in the Montessori philosophy, fostering independence, respect, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. In addition to strong academic development, the school places significant emphasis on practical life skills such as organization, grace and courtesy, and problem-solving. This has noticeably enhanced our child's confidence and independence at home throughout his 2 years at Keen Learners. Communication with families is consistent, transparent, and thoughtful. We receive regular updates on our sons's progress, and the teachers are always approachable and responsive to any questions or concerns. The school also actively engages parents through events and conferences, creating a strong sense of partnership in the educational journey. Overall, Keen Learners Montessori School offers a nurturing and well-rounded environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Highly recommend it to any family seeking an education that truly supports the development of the whole child.

Achiever Institute, the original Achiever after school, is an incredibly special place!…read moreI have worked here for over half a decade, I have seen little kindergarteners turn into graduating 6th graders, and I truly stand by this place whole heartedly. This after school not only focuses on homework and other forms of academics, but they also help children on their character building. The curriculum is well balanced, which I truly enjoy. Achiever Institute offers classes like math, writing, drawing, crafts, recess, Spanish, Chinese, drama, and many more. This is important because not only are these children being taught important academic lessons, but they are also able to express their imaginations and creativity in interesting ways within the classes provided by Achiever. What's quite extraordinary is that not only do they put forth energy to ensure homework is finished and class work is being done, but they also genuinely put the time and effort into teaching their students life long lessons. For example, here at Achiever Institute the staff are also concerned with teaching the students politeness, respecting themselves, their fellow classmates, the staff, other people's feelings, their shared spaces, and so much more! What I also really like is that the staff always communicates with the parents. This is key in my opinion because it is so important to not only be completely aware of everything your child is going through, but also so that you, as a parent, are always kept up to date. Lastly, the summer programs offered by Achiever are like no other! Comparable to the school year's curriculum, they too have a great balance of teaching students necessities and having fun. The first few weeks are intriguing courses such as coding classes, science week, cooking week (which is my personal favorite), etc. but the last month or so of Achiever Institute's summer program is what COMPLETELY SETS THEM APART FROM ANY OTHER AFTER SCHOOL!!! Why you may ask; it is because they host a children's musical. It's several weeks, 4-5 or so) and they start from absolute scratch. It's truly extraordinary to witness! Overall Achiever Institute is not only an academic facility, but it truly feels like a big family. The staff is fully capable, innovative, and quite frankly, amazing. The learning environment is fully equipped for the children's best outcomes and is also well taught; and most importantly, everyone that helps make things possible at this after school genuinely cares!

They enjoy it a lot even requesting to go back there for summer camp, coz they enjoy there so much. The daily schedule for the kids are wonderful, with such a reasonable monthly fee, they even include teaching one kind of musical instrument, Spanish and Chinese on top of the academic enrichment program. My kids never complained about being bored at Achiever. They always asked me to pick them up later so that they can go to those classes. Principal Jim and principal Yuni of Achiever put their heart in this after school. You can tell that they do not only treat the kids or the parents nicely, but also the teachers and TA in Achiever. Unlike any of the other after schools, Achiever has really low turn over rate. Teachers, TAs and even drivers all telling me they enjoy working there. The 2 main teachers there, Teacher Feliza and Teacher Cathy, are really caring teachers, they do not only pay attention to the academic progress for the kids there, they even care about their characters growth. They have great observations of each kid there and help them to excel. Believe it or not, Achiever even offers Parent Teacher conference each year to let us know how our kids are doing academically and socially. TAs working in Achiever are so responsible and they are good with children. They set good examples for the kids there for being polite and caring all the time. Really thankful to send my kids to Achiever, it is like a peace of mind that you know they are well taken care of. If there is a10-star rating on Yelp, i will definitely give a 10!!!!
