I have been a Hindi student for 3 years now, and I want to thank all the people involved in MBK especially Madhu Aunty for starting the program. As a child, my parents did not have enough time to teach me my mother tongue, Hindi. I believe for the rest of my life I will be thankful that this program was there to teach me all of the things I missed out on. I always felt a little left out when visiting India and going to my mother's family, because all of them speak Hindi and understand Hindi, but I couldn't. I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, I am thankful for this opportunity. Learning any language is hard, and it becomes harder especially if you live in a country where it is not spoken. But the teachers in the MBK program are amazing because they know that it is hard to learn a new language and they help you and guide you along the way. They are extremely supportive and very dedicated, because I think they do believe that they are helping us and I whole-heartedly agree. I learned so much from this program, not just the language that my people speak but celebrations of our culture and history of country. Every year, we celebrate Diwali and Holi together and have parties with delicious food! We even go on field trips! Such as to go watch Hindi movies that have come out in the cinema and festivals for Gantantra Divas and Svatantrata Divas! This hands-on experience that each student receives is very special and unique. I can actually say that I know no one who was unhappy with this program ad did not benefit from it. This program not only teaches you but you also receive credit as a Foreign or World Language in high school. In my experience, My class has been with me for three years and we have become close. I made so many close friends and that alone was another benefit for me. The teachers are exceptional and so is the material we learn. The teachers are never unavailable to help you in things you need help on. I am a very slow learner, especially with the speaking part of Hindi. I can read, write, understand a lot more than I did, and can speak a hesitant amount as well. This I believe is an accomplishment for myself, and the teachers never let you believe that you are anything less than anyone else. The way they teach is very broken down and easy to understand. This fact helped me a lot, because as I said before I am a slow learner. I truly am happy with everything I have learned while attending this program. I believe I will carry it with me for the rest of my life and I am extremely thankful. I was welcomed with open arms and I became a better person. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who would like to learn the language as well as the culture. If you are entering, Good Luck! I am currently a student at MBK Hindi. I really think their teaching style is very unique and different but motivates you to do the best possible. All the teachers their, especially Madhu Ji, have taught me a lot and caused me to improve. They are very dedicated and nice. On top of that, they are only trying to help us by using all the fees to make the program better and to make Hindi be facilitated in schools as well. I think that the efforts that are being put in by Madhu Aunty are phenomenal and I recommend going to this Hindi Class because I honestly believe there is nothing better. Because of this class, I have been learning Hindi fluently. In reality, Hindi is a very difficult language. But the way that the wonderful teachers teach it make Hindi seem like a piece of cake. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make this class work. I would also like to thank Madhu Aunty specifically. She has done so much to make this program work. I wanted to skip straight to level 2. Because of Madhu Aunty's commitment and devotion, I was able to do so. She was always there for me. Whenever I had a question about how to do __________, she would always reply to my calls or meet up with me personally so I could question her about so- and- so. On top of that, she is always on top of her line. Because of her sheer dedication, this program is running very smoothly, effectively, and professionally. She takes time individually for each of her students to master whatever skills they are struggling at. She makes class exceptionally fun and tries new ways to teach us, but overall, teaches us. I know of some teachers that have some basic guidelines for the day, but they never end up getting anything done. In this class, whatever was planned for the day always goes accordingly. If extra help is needed, Madhu Aunty never wastes class time. Instead she calls us at another time and teaches us. Every once in a month, we go on field trips to get a different experience, just in case if we are bored sitting all day in class. But even those trips are highly educational. I've been a student at MBK Hindi for three years now, and I can honestly say that it has been a wonderful experience. I began with Hindi I in seventh grade to get language credits, but over these years it has become much more than that. I came into this course without knowledge of reading, writing, or speaking Hindi, and I have since then improved tremendously. The teachers are extremely dedicated and supportive, care about all of their students, and are willing to put time and effort into making sure that every one of us succeeds in Hindi. And not only do these classes help students read, write, and speak Hindi but they also teach us more about India, and our culture. The teaching methods that the teachers use are extremely fun and engaging. We learn a lot from each class, and over the years i've accumulating a large bank of Hindi vocabulary words, more than I ever thought I would know before joining this class. I've learned a lot about Hindi grammar and sentence structure, and my teachers have taught me how to speak very well. Before this class, I would struggle in understanding things people said in Hindi, and I couldn't fathom speaking it. But over my time at MBK, these concepts have been broken down, effectively taught and explained very well by my teachers. Aside from just sitting in a classroom and studying, we also get more interactive learning experiences each month. We go to see Hindi movies, attend events relating to Indian culture, and get to celebrate Indian holidays such as Diwali or Holi together every year. Madhu Aunty and the rest of the teachers always make sure that these trips are fun and exciting for us students, and that we have the opportunity to learn things in a different and engaging way. The environment Madhu Aunty has created for us to learn in is extremely welcoming, supportive, and motivating, and I highly recommend these classes, as they are an amazing experience and a great way to get language credits while also learning about Indian culture. read more

Hi. I'm Sushrut Borkar, and I take Hindi Lessons at MBK Hindi. It is an awesome program and I'm proud to be in it. I have gone to other Hindi schools before this one. This one is harder and requires more commitment, but it is definitely worth it. You learn more Hindi in this program than any other Hindi school, and on top of that, you can get High School Credit for taking a foreign language. Right now, I am still in middle school (junior high). I am in 8th grade, and this is my second year taking Hindi. Therefore, if I take Hindi next year, I get credit in high school for taking three years of Hindi as a foreign language. This is great because it can help you get into better colleges. Some of the stuff taught here is Hindi writing, Hindi reading, Hindi folk tales and epics, Indian history, and Hindi grammar. Level three of this class (which I am in) takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays, with two hours on each day. This class may seem stressful, but it is very fun too. It includes fun learning experiences such as learning new Hindi words by watching Hindi movies, and learning about food in Hindi by bringing Indian food to class and writing the recipe for it in Hindi. The teachers here are great and absolutely amazing. The teachers I have had so far are Anupama ji (Level 2) and Neelima ji (Level 3). I have not had Sujata ji (Level 1), since I skipped level 1, but I have heard that she is also an excellent teacher. Anupama ji is very nice and caring, but still teaches a lot. Neelima ji is an awesome teacher, and manages to teach a lot in a short time. The director and principal of MBK (Madhu Aggarwal) is great too. She helped me get into the program so I could learn Hindi. I would like to thank all the teachers and Madhu ji for helping me learn Hindi. Hi, my name is Sujay Srinivasan and I'm proud to be a part of the MBK (Madhu Bhasha Kendra) family. I am a high school student. I did not know Hindi until I joined MBK. My family also does not have a Hindi background. Right now I am taking Hindi 3 as class for High School. I am getting High School Credit as a Foreign Language for these classes. MBK is WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) affiliated.      They teach Hindi alphabets, Varna Mala Geet, how to read words, how to read short stories, how to read books, stories about Great Indian leaders, how to write about current events, how to write about great Indian leaders, how to type in Hindi, how to give review for movies, how to write letter, how to write greetings in greeting cards, to do projects and much more. We learned the different grammar rules. We also learned about the Indian culture, about great epics, Indian history, tradition, and food. In India I have read a bank's instructions in Hindi, and I was able to comprehend it. I can talk to my cousins in Hindi, and I can understand Hindi movies. I can clearly understand Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi's speech in Hindi. MBK has helped me feel more connected to my Indian roots     Madhu Aggarwal ji is the director of MBK. Madhu ji and all the teachers have the proper credentials and good experience to teach. I am currently a student in MBK Hindi and it is a different kind of program. Unlike school the teachers don't have as many students to take care of and are able to spend more time on each individual student. The teachers can see potential in a student and will do anything possible to get you in the correct level, I skipped 2 levels of hindi in that way. The classes have been evenly distributed throughout the week to meet the UC requirements, etc and there is not too much of a work load, its decent. The experience is one of the most important parts of this program and makes you understand what happens on certain festivals in India like Diwali, we also get to eat Indian food like samosas and rasgullas. We have field trips which show you Indian culture like movies and plays. The program improves your vocabulary a great deal and you get to learn alot from it. My teacher (Madhu Aunty) is one of the nicest and kindest teachers i have ever had. She is dedicated and makes a fun and interactive environment for the kids and her class is enjoyable. She wants all of her students to pass and have a good grade and will try to to the most to help you achieve that. Namaste everybody :) My name is Sangeetha. Mera naam Sangeetha hai. The first time I entered a MBK classroom was during the after school classes available at Harker. I entered with zero knowledge of reading, writing, speaking, OR understanding Hindi. All my fellow classmates had an advantage as they had at least one parent how spoke Hindi. I on ther other hand learned by myself through MBK. Sure, like all, I watch Hindi movies even before MBK... who can resist Bollywood? - but I had to accompany it with subtitles. Within a year, I have successfully learned conversational Hindi, how to read fluently, and understand people talking in Hindi. Coming from a non-HIndi speaking family, I was proud of and impressed at my quick results. Learning Hindi gives me an opening to make new friends and learn a new culture. I decided to stick with MBK and continue learning, because there is never truly an end to how much a person can learn. They offer college credits and are WASC approved. This is my second year learning at MBK. The classes have helped me improve immensely. Before taking the hindi course, I could barely write hindi and was not fluent when speaking. After less than 2 years, I can speak fluently with my grandparents and others with confidence and write short essays in hindi. I am no longer ashamed when people ask me if I know my mother tongue. One of my favorite things about this class is that unlike school classes, MBK allows for a personalized experience. Since some a bit of hindi before beginning the course, students were provided with an opportunity t jump levels. I was able to go straight to Hindi II because of this. Communication between student and teacher is friendly. Also, the class incorporates some important cultural values and teaches students about India. I have learned more than a language in this class. Our two boys attend this program in Los Altos. They are both in different classes, one in Kindergarten and other one in 1st grade. Both enjoy this class. Our younger son is a handful and the teacher has managed to keep him interested. He has finally started to speak in Hindi! The older one has finished 2 years of this class. He has learned reading and writing in addition to speaking. This program is run very professionally. The teachers send weekly emails on what they are planning to cover. Just like in their public school, they do special activities for holidays like Diwali and Holi. They also cooked roti once and made lemonade. At the end of the year they host a wonderful annual program where kids get to do Hindi skits on the stage. Overall, we are very happy with this program. It has exceeded our expectations as an after school program. The kids not only learn Hindi but they also learn about Indian culture. This is my first year as a student at MBK Hindi. Attending this class has helped me with both casual Hindi conversations and reading and writing. Not only has it given me school language credits but has also helped me converse with relatives and such on a daily basis. The curriculum can be hard but if you put in hours and effort, you will definitely benefit from it. In MBK, we read a variety of books, poems, and short stories that are chosen and taught well. Teachers teach the lessons thoroughly- through vocabulary based/comprehension based homework and assignments. Projects and homework are given and planned according to our schedules. MBK Hindi is the best Hindi program I've found in the Bay Area. I'm currently a third year student at MBK and I'm so so glad I'm enrolled in Hindi. The teachers do their jobs well, (I have learned so much in my 3 years here), and the activities we do in class are fun and engaging. This class helps you learn how to speak, read, and write in Hindi and is definitely worth your while. We're exposed to tons of different content whether it's Hindi plays, movies, autobiographies, or different cultural events. My favorite thing about this course is that it integrates learning with cultural knowledge, history, and a lot more. MBK Hindi has a really enriching and entertaining program and is something I would definitely recommend to people who are interested in developing their Hindi, whether it's for school credit or not :) read more

I have been a hindi student at MBK hindi for three years now and the experience here is truly amazing. As well as learning my native language, I received college credits which help me on my language requirment to graduate. The fun part of this program is that we get to learn a different culture as well as learning how things are done differently in India. We go on many fieldtrips and in the second semester of the third year, we make food and are able to share it with each other. Compared to other classrooms and schools, the amount of students per class is about half of a normal class, maximizing the amount of student to teacher interaction. Overall, this curriculum is best suited if you want to learn hindi and get credits out of school so you don't need to use your free period taking a language. read more

I have been a Hindi student at MBK for two years now. I skipped Level 1 and went straight to Level 2, and I want to thank Madhu Ji for letting me do that. I have learned so much over the years, from writing grammatically correct sentences, to new vocabulary words. Madhu Aunty mixes learning with fun, and this creates a great atmosphere for students to enjoy and study at the same time. We explored a lot about our culture, mainly the holidays. We get the chance to celebrate Diwali and Holi with our Hindi Class family. We also go on field trips to the movie theater or to a cultural program almost every other month. MBK Language Center is a great place to learn Hindi. It is challenging, fun, and educational. The environment is warm and welcoming and the teachers are beyond exceptional. MBK is a true pioneer in using HIndi as a High School language course, that counts for a large number of universities. All he students are pushed to excel in all areas of the language, including writing, reading, and comprehension. and I have been at MBK for two years, and am currently in the Hindi 3 program. Being a part of Hindi III for High School credit, I can vouch that MBK is an outstanding place for students to learn Hindi. I encourage all students to take up Hindi with MBK to learn and fulfill their requirements for a foreign language in high school. MBK is clearly the best, most organized, challenging, fun, positive, and the most amazing place to learn Hindi. I never thought taking a language would be worth it, and just did it because it was a college requirement. For me, this is my third year taking Hindi, and it is such an amazing experience! When I started, I didn't know how to speak or write in Hindi, but only understood it. Now, I can speak and read/write fluently. I've tried other Hindi programs when I was little, but at the end, I realized I didn't even learn anything. I sent my two kids here to learn Hindi. My kids had no prior knowledge of Hindi. Within a few weeks, my 12 yr old son started reading and writing using Devnagri script. My younger child started reciting poems and talking in Hindi. I am very grateful to the beautiful teachers who are showering the children with love. Children are learning about festivals, traditions and culture along with the language. My 12 yr old gave a solo performance on "paani bachao". My 7 yr old performed in a group for annual celebration of MBK. I am so proud of my boys who can now understand and speak Hindi. MBK language center is an excellent place to learn to read, write, and speak in hindi. The teachers are knowledgeable, and are skilled at conveying that knowledge to the students. The program supports all students, even those from non-indian backgrounds. The teachers are also enthusiastic about their jobs, so they continually push students to do their best. The program is definitely rigorous, so if you have a busy schedule, consider setting time aside for homework and projects.
