I first visited Chalet after doing a quick google search of flower stores a few weeks ago. I had walked into two other stores and had not been happy, but.. before I walked in, I was already impressed. The owner(s) decided to build a house in the city, with a beautifully manicured yard that you would have to see. Once I got inside the first time I was greeted by the owner who was incredibly friendly and went through the options and asked me all types of questions as I had mentioned I wasn't sure what to get. She also asked me on budget, without trying to pressure me into any category. The nicest thing I've heard someone say, was when she recommended I wait until the afternoon that day as she would have fresher flowers by then. Once I received the flowers I was very happy with the selection, and my wife was incredibly happy as well. This had me decide for Valentine's Day I had to come back! Before I came back I called ahead and asked again for her thoughts and she guided me based on a few questions to a fantastic solution. She also asked again on my budget, and made it based on this. The picture I have is based on $100, which I find incredibly reasonable. Today when I picked up the flowers, the store was very full, but the owner (and daughter I think?) had brought in extra help in anticipation of the volume. I was apprehensive on my wait time as I pulled up, but was helped rather quickly, and was very happy to hear I hadn't been forgotten from last time! Based on prior yelpitude, although light, and some other reviews I found on Google Local, I decided to stop by Chalet Florist today. I'm staying in Dade City with the family, but everyone says horrible things recently about the Dade City Florist that most people have been going to for years, so I decided it was worth the drive. It's in a weird location. I lived in Zephyrhills for a long while and even /dated someone around the corner/ and had never once seen the little Chalet, nestled cozily in the corner of 7th Ave and South. I had no appointment. I hadn't called ahead. It was Christmas Eve, an hour before the shop closed. I walked in, looked at some of the things in the front of the shop, and asked to see what was in the cooler in back. Being Christmas, the only things they had were white and red carnation baskets. I asked if she could make me something, if she had time, with spring flowers for my grandparents in a vase. I told her I wanted to spend $50, and wanted it to look incredible. She said it would take 10 minutes. I came back in ten minutes and found the most glorious arrangement I've ever seen, especially for $50. I've paid three times that for half the arrangement while living in NYC. The lady said they've been there for more than 30 years, and I instantly understood why -- this was an incredible product for a great price, served up fresh, and with a smile. Doorbell rings- I'm shocked, no-one ever comes to my door. I opened it to find the most adorable young man with a big smile, holding a vase full of the most beautiful flowers. I never get flowers- not on my birthday, holidays- ever! The three roses were truly gorgeous- a soft peach, perfectly shaped, surrounded by fresh yellow and white daisies (or mums) and a couple of yellow carnations. They were sent by a leading pet food supplier (another shock- who does that?) with condolences because I let them know that I would no longer be needing food for my beloved great dane. What an amazing surprise, and a really nice memory to cherish- which included the presentation: the charming young man- (I'm 73, so I can appreciate)- as well as the absolutely beautiful flowers. Helllllllo Florida! So I wanted to send my mother some really special flowers for her birthday, but I live in California. I had a horrible experience with 1800 flowers and ended up finding this place over yelp. When I called the nice woman was very, very patient, I had what felt like a long list of very specific request with specific flowers. I wanted yellow roses and sunflowers for my mom. Yellow roses to represent my grandmother who passes and the sunflowers to represent me. They unfortunately didn't have yellow roses, but they did have one unopened sunflower! Which I really wanted. So I asked her to just make me anything, as long as it was just make it with love. On top of all that I wanted a 50 dollar gift card. They did it all. Our family has used Chalet Flowers for 25 years. They've delivered many a birthday and Mother's day bouquet, and recently, my Dad ordered a "Harvest" arrangement for me. It came in a cute little pumpkin with it's "hat" tipped to the side.
