Rodizio is basically ayce meat options where servers bring around various cuts of meat on large skewers and then if you want it, they slice you a portion at your table. The most famous Torontonian equivalent is Copacabana. We got there before they opened. They told us 6pm. We loafed around til then. We tried going back. They told us 7pm even though their door said 6. We opted to wait. Worth the wait. The standard rodizio here costs $13.90 euros and includes the basic meat package (12 meats + grilled pineapple) and both their hot and cold buffet. Drinks cost extra, but a small beer or juice will set you back about $1.80 euros, and a litre of their house wine will cost $9 euros. Be warned though. If you order in English, specify what you want, because their fresh squeezed orange juice is $3.50 euros a glass. It's tasty, but expensive. Their hot buffet only has like 8 items including rice, beans, fries, some kind of stew, and something that tastes like a mix between salt cod and mashed potatoes and some kind of cream pasta. Their salad bar is not bad, but not fantastic either. I appreciated the pickled veggie assortment though. Helps cut down on the fat from the red meat. OH THE RED MEAT. The menu said 12 kinds and lists them out. We got more than 12 kinds. Chicken drumsticks, chicken with bacon, chicken heart, pork chunk, roast pork, pork with cheese, sausage, rump steak, steak with garlic, tenderloin, beef with bacon and cheese, some other kind of steak I can't identify, ham, rump steak roast, etc. SO MUCH MEAT. Most of it was pretty tasty, albeit a tad salty. Surprisingly, the chicken dishes stand out as being juicy and piping hot and tender. Also the beef with bacon and cheese, and the tenderloin. THEN GRILLED PINEAPPLE. With cinnamon. So good. So sweet. Amazing with the meat, especially with the beef, bacon, and cheese. I think my dad ate a whole pineapple on his own. The servers were fantastic about it though. Very lovely service. Side note that isn't rodizio: They have a la carte seafood and meat options. Mom and aunt got seabream for $12.90 euros ish. Whole seabream. Nothing else. Delicious. Slightly salty. The rest of us got rodizio and they let mom and aunt have some of our food. As in we asked and they said yes. Pineapple goes well with fish too. If I lived in Portugal, I could see myself coming back fairly often. Best ayce experience I've had in a very long time.

I sat there for about 5 mins, during which time, someone spilled soup on me AND someone tripped on my table and used my shoulder to catch themselves. I asked if I could move and he walked away or didn't understand, so I separated a table for 4 in the corner (so he could still use the other two seats), and then the male employee YELLED at me, across the restaurant saying that I "cannot sit there! Get up lady, get up! No no no!" He could still use the other table next to me, but continued to yell that I couldn't sit there. Another man tried to grab my food and move me. There were plenty of other tables open for 4 people, the restaurant was not that busy. These men should be ashamed to have treated a customer that way. He also tried to make me sit outside in the boiling hot sun, but perhaps put the imaginary group of 4 outside instead of someone who was inside and already eating? I have never seen a professional person yell at a customer - especially a solo female traveler! To top it off, there was a solo male customer sitting behind me, the exact same table arrangement, but no one yelled at him. Seems like they don't respect women eating by themselves. How rude, disrespectful and inappropriate. I hope this place is shut down. I will be telling everyone I know not to come here. Shame on you!

Luckily, some friends and family are permanent residents in Luz so helped the bride organise the event. As a group of circa 25 women, it was going to be a difficult decision whatever; many of the places in Luz are quite small and wouldn't want to cut off their evening's custom 100%, so Picanha's appeared to be a great option. For €25 ahead we signed up for the serve yourself buffet in the centre of the room, the Brazilian meat on skewers circulating the room, unlimited red or white sangria (beer or wine were also an option but they weren't very forthcoming with these options), and live music throughout the evening. Service was very friendly throughout and understanding of people's meat preferences - well done or rare etc. - and communicated well with the party, both in English and Portuguese. They even organised a shuttle transfer for us as it's really located outside of Luz. The buffet didn't stand out as anything special and was unlabeled, proving difficult for anyone with allergies or dietary requirements. I filled up with plenty of salad, some bread, a potato & onion dish, some beef stew (which was delicious) and chicken. There was something that appeared to be pizza but actually had banana on it. An unusual flavour to say the least! The meat coming round was by far the highlight of the evening and I am becoming quite fond of this style of eating. We had everything from spicy sausage to wild boar, the latter being the best thing of the evening. Half a garlic steak also went down very well! The music during the meal is hard to judge. It was slow and a bit too mellow for the atmosphere we would have liked, but the guy had a great voice and could seriously play the guitar, and I understand the need to find a balance for us and the rest of the diners. When we had finished and people started to get onto the dance floor, he did manage to pick up the pace and entertain us for an hour or so! Great value for the amount we managed to get through, both in terms of food and the sangria, but the location is quite off-putting as it adds an extra journey element to the evening and I think the space could do with a bit more 'oopmh' to reflect the theme.

The shrimp was good however the batter got really soggy the vinegar on the sauce was very strong. The beef just needed more flavor, just wasn't feeling it. Overall if your in the mood for Chinese still check them out. They had an extensive menu so I'm sure they have better items than what I tried today. Don't sleep on the noodles and rice tho, so good! She was a very good cook in her own right, and we lived near some of the best Chinese food in the world in Southern California. I can state unequivocally that this is the real deal! They use fresh ingredients, fresh oil, and the chef does a masterful job. We are spending 10 days here and have already eaten here twice with plans to eat here a couple more times despite the other excellent choices competing for our attention. The staff was so kind, seating us away from other diners because our littlest one was sleeping in the stroller when we arrived. They were kind to the kids & even provided them with plastic plates & silverware. I have never seen this before in my life. Everyone came by our table to smile and talk to the kids. The food was also DELICIOUS! Huge portions. My husband and I did a special for 2 that included sweet & sour chicken, beef in oyster sauce, Peking duck, and cashew shrimp. Salad and fried rice on the side. I can't tell you which meat was my favorite because each one was better than the next. After we ate, one of the male waiters walked by son over to a dessert fridge and let him pick something out.
