He has a reassuring manner, excellent technique and the entire surgery he did with great skill and concern for my comfort. Tonight minimal pain and discomfort because of his surgical ability. You would have to PAY ME to walk into Brian Chadroff's office again. It's amazing how much my terrible experience with Dr. Chadroff follows the pattern of a prior poster, Emily K. I visited Dr. Chadroff in January 2018 for a consultation for whether I needed to address my receding gum lines. He charged me $350 for the consultation, and he did spend a good hour examining my teeth and discussing his proposed treatment for me: he advised an alloderm graft for "6 or 7" (he wasn't sure!!!) of my teeth, for which he would charge me a minimum of $11,500. As background, let me say that I consulted two highly regarded NYC periodontists at this time (Dr. Laureen Langer (teaches at Columbia), and Dr. Hector Sarmiento (teaches at Penn): neither of them agreed with Brian Chadroff's diagnosis. Alarmed at the scope and cost of this surgery, I called Dr. Chadroff for a follow-up questions. Dr. Chadroff was pompous and aggressive to my follow-up questions. He actually said (I wrote his words down immediately after our phone discussion 3/13/18, I was so offended and upset): "You have too many questions. I don't think you understand the surgery." I said, "That's right Dr. Chadroff, and I paid you to answer my questions. I want to better understand the method you are suggesting: why do you prefer to use a synthetic pig tissue, vs. my body's own tissue?" He was dismissive, rude, and got aggressive amid a simple follow-up question session. I wouldn't dream of spending a penny more on this insecure, pompous man. I have lived and worked in Manhattan for 15 years, where I love all of my other patient / doctor relationships. Chadroff is an amateur when it comes to patient skills and manners. However, to be fair and thorough, I have to say that his receptionist Marianna was pleasant, professional and responsive when I called to make an appointment, when I paid for the consultation, and when I called 3 times afterward to try to get Dr. Chadroff to answer my follow-up questions. This guy is an incredibly impressive periodontist. Extremely knowledgeable and skilled in difficult situations. I ended up going to him as a result of a referral from one of NYC's best dentists. I had a difficult case and he did a great job. I highly recommend Chadroff. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Chadroff for over 20 years. His manner and the way he explained my implant process was exceptional. He has a gentle touch as the procedure went pain free. I have had 4 implants from Dr. Chadroff and have not had one problem. His follow up after the procedures were concerning and genuine. My general dentist commented how "perfect" my implants were. I go to his office 4x a year for periodontal cleanings. The staff and hygienists are professional and caring. I would recommend the services of Dr. Chadroff to anyone needing a periodontist. read more

This review deals with Dr Chadroff's office staff, mainly the woman who does his billing Joan. At least I think that's her name. After I called to make my appointment Joan calls me back and asks me for my insurance information. I give it to her. This isn't good enough. She needs a copy of my card front and back. She off handledly explains there are so many Delta Insurance's that she needs to see the card. This is odd since I gave the exact same information to my regular dentist and he found my insurance info in about five minutes. I explain I'm waiting on a replacement card. Joan also tells me there is a $250 consultation fee but that my insurance will reimburse it. Two days before my appointment Joan calls me back to confirm my appointment and asks again for my insurance. I haven't gotten my replacement card yet but she can call my regular dentist since it took him less than five minutes to find my insurance info with the exact same information I gave her the first time. My appointment is for December 27th. I arrive and see Dr Kim. As expected I need a deep cleaning. We discuss when it can be done. That day is an option and I wanna get it done so they agree to fit me in for the first half of the procedure. While waiting I realize that I have had a lot of work done in the past few weeks and that I might have reached my maximum. I ask to speak to Joan and explain to her that I've had a lot of work done and if she could check my insurance to make sure this is covered. It is the end of the year and if it's not I can wait literally less than a week and it will be. She asks what Ive had done...I say I've had three wisdom teeth pulled plus some fillings and other work.She says she will check. She comes back and says that my other claims haven't gone through but that it doesn't sound like I should be near my maximum. I ask if she's sure because I really don;t wanna get hit with a bill. She really see's no problem. She assures me it should be fine. She also informs me that the $250.00 consultation fee that she said would be reimbursed by my insurance won't be. Everything is fine. I get the work done. Come back for my second appt. Have the second half of the work done. Go to pay the bill. Literally I am told with no apologies whatsoever and in the most matter of fact way possible " your insurance didn't cover your first treatment so besides your co pay for today you owe us $1700.00" I had specifically asked her to check on this. I had explained why I wanted her to check. I am not an expert on insurance claims. I was trusting in her judgement and her expertise in this area. I absolutely would never have agreed to do the procedure on that day if I thought it was coming out of my pocket. I could have waited literally less than a week. A note to Joan: a simple phone call by you to my regular dentist to check on what I had been billed would have saved me $1730.00. I am sorry I didn't give you a detailed list of what my dentist had billed me for. I am also sorry I didn't notice your overuse of the word extraction when telling me that it should be covered. I was assuming you would actually give a damn about my pocketbook when I should have realized your job is billing patients. Where the money comes from isn't your concern nor do you care. Also saying "we don;t do this" in regards to insurance to the person you've done it to twice is laughable. Also, telling someone that something is going to be reimbursed by insurance, giving them the procedure, and then telling them it's not covered is illegal. I only wish I could prove it. You also had two weeks to let me know that my insurance didn't cover the cost, but you wait until after I've racked up more cost and then totally expect me to pay the full amount right then and there. And please don't say that Dr. Kim stopped you from offering me payment plan like you did on the phone. Dr. Kim stopped you from charging me the full amount and you were fighting him on it. Dr Kim said he would call me later to check up on me and see if we could work something out, He didn't until three weeks later. While I am sure that the dental services here are fine, I will never return. It seems that every time I do I am charged literally hundreds and thousands of dollars more than I think I am going to be. The office itself doesn't seem to be that upset by it either. I was offered a small ( very small) reduction in price on 1/31/14 but only if paid that day. read more

Truly Dr.Chadroff is the BEST periodontist I have ever met.. I had a clinical crown lengthening procedure done and received reflexology to calm my nerves. Dr Chadroff's expertise made all the difference. I have referred friends and family to his practice.. Dr. Chadroff took over where another surgeon left off. He explained everything in detail during my consultation and I mean EVERYTHING. He took his time and step by step, piece by piece everything was covered, every option, etc. When I left his office I immediately felt confident that he was absolutely the right doctor for me. He is extremely knowledgeable and skilled and talks you through the procedure step by step. His staff is warm and caring as well. I had 3 implants placed at one time. Still healing but he seems to have done a great job. I would recommend Dr. Chadroff to others. If you need a periodontist, I suggest you give his office a call you won't be sorry. read more

Two major problems: Firstly, Dr. C. is pompous and threatened by questions. The more you want to know, the more he acts as though he is being attacked, and provides dismissive or sarcastic answers. In addition, after a CT scan of my jaw it took the doctor two weeks and three calls from me to provide results as to whether or not he could in fact treat me. During that call he was also defensive, and in describing my serious dental issues referred to one of my teeth as "Ugly" and the other as "looking like a fang." Just what I needed. Secondly, there is the office staff. They keep you on hold endlessly, and then --on two occasions--hang up. They mis-scheduled me or had to reschedule me. I wonder if they are incompetent, short staffed, or trying to manage two offices with little success.I do get the sense that Chadroff knows his periodontics. But his attitude, and the competancy of his office staff are less than zero. And the fees are quite HIGH. This is NYC. There are many, many talented dentists. Find another one. read more
