Fortunately for me, the ER referred me here and I landed (pun intended!) at this wonderful place. Dr. Gillig is amazing. He has a great bedside manner and is really compassionate with his patients. I am a good judge of human nature and can spot sincere compassion, so I was happy to see that with him. I appreciate the way he shares the X-rays and takes the time to explain to me everything that is happening. Everybody at this Resurgens location is very helpful: The front office staff is wonderful and always tries to work me in for my appointments, asking for my preferences; The people in Imaging are very patient and know exactly what they are doing. Thanks to them my X-ray here clearly showed the fracture that was missed by the ER; The technicians show a great deal of care as well. They give helpful answers to my questions and help me figure out ways for me to be more mobile in this time. If you are tired of feeling like a number at your orthopedic practice, I recommend you come here. I was put at ease starting with my first visit and I've felt like I've been in good hands ever since. She employs the latest technique in hip replacement surgery called anterior hip replacement, in which the surgery cut is made in the front rather than the side. This reduces recovery time significantly. It also eliminated the post-surgery concerns of refraining from crossing your legs or bending at a 90 degree angle; which patients having a traditional hip replacement surgery have to be careful about. She visited me every day during my hospital stay to check on my recovery progress, including both weekend days. Also of important note, is that Dr. Albert uses the cell saver machine in her surgeries, which greatly reduces the need for blood transfusions. I am so pleased that I chose Dr. Albert for my hip replacement surgery.

My experience afforded a dispassionate, assembly line feel. During both visits, the doctor exuded an air of restrained impatience as if there were more important things he could be doing. He provided cavalier responses to questions that seemed important to me. He appeared to be eager to move on to the next patient, even after showing up 95 minutes late for my second appointment. Dr. Levengood recommended surgery immediately after reading the MRI report without actually seeing the MRI. If I'm going to have surgery done, I want it done by someone who has the time to get to know me and I him. Instead, I felt more like the next order at a Waffle House. Also, as seen in another review, he gave me a shot I didn't ask for, nor did he consult me. Thankfully, I didn't have an allergic reaction as the other reviewer described. The effect of the shot has been to temporarily reduce pain. While this may sound like a good thing, I've gone for a second opinion from a doctor who is far less eager to do surgery and now the shot makes it difficult to know if physical therapy is working. Consequently, making it difficult to decide whether or not to proceed with surgery. Now that I've received the EOB from my insurance, I can see that the shot was $97 of pure profit. Aside from the copay, it's the only thing on the bill that wasn't covered or discounted by insurance. As best I can tell, the $97 is not for what was in the shot. Just a fee for sticking the needle into my shoulder (Note: I can't verify this conclusion. I'm simply frustrated enough to make the assumption).

After that we contacted them about payment and they agreed to wait for the person's insurance at fault to pay but then his care was pretty much come in for follow up but nothing was done again. No physical therapy or anything. He is now going to another Orthopedic that says he should have stated therapy before his cast was removed and that as a result he might not ever have full use of his right arm back and might always have the burning and pain in his arm also. My husband is a dental lab technician and owns his own Dental Lab, this has been detrimental to his business and the work he is able to do. I am extremely disappointed that he didn't receive proper care after the issue of his deductible payment. I would have to discourage anyone from going to Atlanta Ortho for care, it seems that money is way more important then people's care. Not to mention if they would have told us they could not wait for payment we would have come up with the money and just waited to get it back.

I went in with what I believed was a…read morefungal nail infection, but the doctor did not examine my foot hands\-on, touch the affected toe, take a nail scraping, or perform any testing\. I was simply told that the nail needed to be completely removed, without being offered other treatment options\. I was uncomfortable proceeding with such an invasive treatment without further evaluation, so I sought a second opinion\. The second doctor actually examined my foot, tested the nail, diagnosed the fungal infection, and prescribed medication\. Thankfully, the problem was successfully treated without having my nail removed\. I'm very glad I trusted my instincts and got another opinion\. If a doctor is recommending removing an entire nail, I would expect a thorough examination and a discussion of less invasive treatment options first\. I was also surprised that this office passes the credit card processing fee on to the patient\. I'm already paying for the medical visit, and then I'm charged an additional fee simply for paying by credit card\. I personally have not encountered this at other doctors' offices, and it added to my disappointment with the experience\. Between the lack of a hands\-on examination, being given only the option of nail removal, and the additional credit card fee, I would not return to this practice or recommend it to others\.
