She employs the latest technique in hip replacement surgery called anterior hip replacement, in which the surgery cut is made in the front rather than the side. This reduces recovery time significantly. It also eliminated the post-surgery concerns of refraining from crossing your legs or bending at a 90 degree angle; which patients having a traditional hip replacement surgery have to be careful about. She visited me every day during my hospital stay to check on my recovery progress, including both weekend days. Also of important note, is that Dr. Albert uses the cell saver machine in her surgeries, which greatly reduces the need for blood transfusions. I am so pleased that I chose Dr. Albert for my hip replacement surgery.

My experience afforded a dispassionate, assembly line feel. During both visits, the doctor exuded an air of restrained impatience as if there were more important things he could be doing. He provided cavalier responses to questions that seemed important to me. He appeared to be eager to move on to the next patient, even after showing up 95 minutes late for my second appointment. Dr. Levengood recommended surgery immediately after reading the MRI report without actually seeing the MRI. If I'm going to have surgery done, I want it done by someone who has the time to get to know me and I him. Instead, I felt more like the next order at a Waffle House. Also, as seen in another review, he gave me a shot I didn't ask for, nor did he consult me. Thankfully, I didn't have an allergic reaction as the other reviewer described. The effect of the shot has been to temporarily reduce pain. While this may sound like a good thing, I've gone for a second opinion from a doctor who is far less eager to do surgery and now the shot makes it difficult to know if physical therapy is working. Consequently, making it difficult to decide whether or not to proceed with surgery. Now that I've received the EOB from my insurance, I can see that the shot was $97 of pure profit. Aside from the copay, it's the only thing on the bill that wasn't covered or discounted by insurance. As best I can tell, the $97 is not for what was in the shot. Just a fee for sticking the needle into my shoulder (Note: I can't verify this conclusion. I'm simply frustrated enough to make the assumption).

After that we contacted them about payment and they agreed to wait for the person's insurance at fault to pay but then his care was pretty much come in for follow up but nothing was done again. No physical therapy or anything. He is now going to another Orthopedic that says he should have stated therapy before his cast was removed and that as a result he might not ever have full use of his right arm back and might always have the burning and pain in his arm also. My husband is a dental lab technician and owns his own Dental Lab, this has been detrimental to his business and the work he is able to do. I am extremely disappointed that he didn't receive proper care after the issue of his deductible payment. I would have to discourage anyone from going to Atlanta Ortho for care, it seems that money is way more important then people's care. Not to mention if they would have told us they could not wait for payment we would have come up with the money and just waited to get it back.
