Food wise, I was tempted by a few things on this interesting Bangladeshi menu and got some helpful and decisive advice from the waiter. In the end I want for the chicken thawa which wasn't particularly unusual in flavour (I chickened out of the satkora fruit option which I will get next time) but very well done and a very generous portion. I thought the aloo gobi was the best I've had in ages. We also tried onion bhajis and I would say Blue Nile is slightly beaten out by Stockport rival Last Monsoon in terms of flavour and crispiness. Bf had lamb handi which he really enjoyed - the meat was tender and not at all stringy or dry. Definitely recommend if you like lamb. As above service is very good and it's a nice restaurant with some cool tropical fish tanks in the walls. Kind of reminds me of the Purple Pakora in Poynton. Overall this is yet another good restaurant in the independent Hazel Grove scene (we commented on Friday that the chains have not moved in here, which is maybe why there is such diversity and quality) and I will be sure to come back.

The menu has all the standards you might expect but, being Bangladeshi-owned, encourages you to head towards the specials. The heat of the dishes is marked from 0 to 5 chillies. Beware, the menu on the website is out of date as of this review. After some standard poppadums and chutneys (weirdly, priced separately), we skipped the starters and headed straight to the mains, sharing pilau rice and naan. The pilau rice was nothing to write home about but the naan bread was good. The Chicken Torkhari (3 chillies, around 7 quid) I had was decent, with a nice heat, served in a hot bowl to spoon in, as with all the dishes. The Paneer Shashlick was reportedly very disappointing: delivered kebab style, with onions, peppers and paneer on skewers, with a "spicy curry sauce" (for which, read "tasteless") on the side, it was far too dry. In particular the paneer was unpleasantly hard and chewy. On this dish alone, the review would be much more damning, but it seems this was just an unfortunate choice amongst a table of reasonable ones.

Pink garlic were on the just eat app and had quite a few positive reviews so we gave it a shot. Prices were really good but they also had an offer on for money off when u spent over £20. The food came quickly, and was of good quality. The delivery man was very friendly and the meal was still piping hot when it got to our door. You could tell the meals were freshly cooked with fresh veg and the meat was not fatty and well cooked. Even though this place is not quite as good as the garam masala, Considering the price (quite a bit cheaper!!) we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavour. The quantities are very generous, I've not been able to finish any of the meals I've had from here even though they've been very tasty. Unless you've got a huge appetite, you could skip the starter- the main course will be enough. Delivery times tend to be pretty good- sometimes in half an hour, even on a Saturday night.
