Where do I start? The whole process, start to finish, has been nothing but positive, professional, personable and excellent. We had seven different painting contractors give us estimates for painting the exterior of our house. Jerry Chavez, principal of CG Coatings Inc, gave a very detailed and engaging presentation of what to expect from a project with CG Coatings. He was very polite and just seemed to be someone we wanted to work with. He made our choice very easy in choosing the right company to paint our house. WE LOVE IT! Amazing job. We researched and received about 5 different estimates. Some were verbal, over text and Gerardo's was the only one that came over email as an actual written estimate. From my first interaction of contacting him on yelp he said he would come by my house later that evening and indeed he arrived with his painter Alfredo. They looked at our house and said he would have an estimate in a couple of days. Indeed, he did send it via email. His estimate was exactly what we were anticipating paying. I contacted him via text and said we liked his estimate and would like to start right away. He offered to seal in all our cracks which we had a lot as our house is over 20 years old and had never been painted. He also filled in all our windows as they were not properly sealed in by the company that installed them 2 years ago. He sent his crew the following Monday to our house and the work began. He said all would be done in 3 days and all the painting was. We took a couple of extra days with him as we had him replace 2 doors which we were very impressed with how hard he worked on them as we had no idea how much labor it was to replace doors. We asked for an accent door color of blue and this really made our house come together. I never write reviews but I use yelp all the time for recommendations. I'm so pleased and happy with the work Gerardo, Alfredo and team did for us. I highly recommend his company as his professionalism , promptness, honesty, hardworking attitude is amazing! read more

Jerry and his crew are total professionals. Unlike other painters in our neighborhood, Jerry pointed out the wood rot. If we'd painted over it, it would have just expanded and grown. Their inspector Jerry was nice and all but I never even got to use them because I could not even schedule them to come out. This place is terrible at follow ups and has the customer constantly calling them to ask for the quote estimate and to schedule them. After a 7k plus job and waiting 4 weeks to finish Jerry tells me he never wants to work for us again because we are nitpicky and difficult. Then he asks me if I want to do a walk through (so I can nitpick some more?). Be careful, promised redwood decorative shutters but tried to use pine (due to internal miscommunication). Claims he did much more than he usually does to paint areas that look exposed without paint. Watch out for window screens, dirty roofs, lose roof tiles (which they did not loosen of course), dead bushes they repeatedly walked on, junk the left in my backyard for weeks etc etc. Not happy with this unprofessional group! Pictures show that the previous contractor splashed paint over window frames. Instead of cleaning this during his paint job, this painter claimed: "Well I have pictures to prove the window frames were splashed over by the previous painter." - So it's going to cost more after he gives us the price? Update: Negotiated a $390 discount on a 7.5K job but Jerry refused to honor it even though it's in writing. Threatened a mechanics lien. I paid this group off as I just don't want to deal with these people any longer. Thanks for the review Jerry.. I just want my money's worth when I get my house painted. Stucco needs to be prepared for painting or you should tell your client that your paint job will not look good and offer to texture the stucco as needed. Your communication sucks.. but I have paid you in full and without the discount I negotiated to just end this pain. Many contractors have worked with us and I have always given a 5 star rating and worked to achieve mutual success. I am raising your rating to 3 stars because you did finish. read more

I don't get it! I called and asked for an estimate on a Sunday they actually called me immediately and came right over, gave me a price and a start date, took my email and promised a contract by the next day. Then nothing! No quote, no call, didn't return my follow up call and never heard from them again. FLAKEY! After having my Flooring and baseboards installed in my home I quickly realized how different of a color ultra white is from the white doors and door frames I had! Yes I choose ultra white baseboards...lol! I figured I could paint the doors and baseboards myself but after doing a horrific job I called about 12 different companies on a Friday and most wouldn't touch my project because of my choice in using ultra white paint. Jerry from C&G came out that day and gave me an estimate (which was by far the best of the bunch) and said he could have it done the following week. Yay me right! Jerry and his crew came out and worked tirelessly. They took 15 two-panel doors out of my home and had them sprayed, while 2 guys stayed and painted all the door frames...it was NOT easy work. It took 3 coats to get them looking amazing but his crew worked 2 days and had my doors looking FABULOUS! I'm definitely having them back to complete other paint projects in my home as well as the exterior in the spring. After 4 days I called the lady said we will have the estimate by Friday. A week later still no estimate no phone call no nothing. If you don't want to do the job just say so! Job Well Done!! Jerry was out the day after we requested a quote on Yelp. The quote was fair and reasonable and we chose CG Coatings to complete the task of painting the exterior of our home. Jerry and the crew were very professional. We had a great deal of difficulty choosing colors and Jerry was more than patient. Once we picked the colors and paint day came, the crew was on top of it and it was quickly apparent that we made the right choice. We had asked for estimates from 5 different companies. One didn't even contact us. Gerry was prompt in his response, his estimate was reasonable for the work we wanted done and we wanted three colors on the house. Work was started on time and his staff was clean, professional, polite, and always friendly. After prepping the house, they painted samples of the paints WE had selected. We changed our mind on one color. Gerry told us no problem, and painted two more examples. Once selected, the painting started. Their attention to detail was outstanding. After finishing, they asked for our inspection. We found two minor errors which were immediately corrected. Our neighbor had a friend visiting and he admired the paint job and asked about the company. I gave him the business card we had and without hesitation, recommended CG Coatings. The air conditioner in my attic drainage pipe had busted and created a flood in the attic. Water was dripping from my second floor ceiling. While the air conditioner was being repaired I had to contact a restoration company to clean up the flood. They had to cut a hole into the ceiling so as to dry out the attic. They then covered it with a plastic tarp. So after all this drama to my home, I then needed to have a contractor repair my second floor ceiling. I phoned 10 contractors in the area and no one was willing to come look at the damage to give me an estimate. I called CG Coatings (11th call), spoke to Jerry, he came out the next evening and gave me an estimate. It was a 3 day job and the paint matching was fantastic. You cannot tell there was ever ceiling damage. Jerry is so willing to work with your work schedule (both my husband and I are commuters and work different shifts) and gave me a very fair estimate. For 3 weeks my stress level was at an all time high and Jerry definitely helped lower my stress. read more
