This store may be part of a chain, but it's ideal for West Brom and exactly the kind of shop that the town centre has been crying out for for a long time. For those unfamiliar, it's a bit like Cash Converters but focuses mostly on DVDs, computer games, mobile phones and other small electro-gadgets (iPods etc.) For those unfamiliar with Cash Converters, CeX is basically a great shop rammed full of cheap, pre-owned DVDs etc.
There's loads of bargains to be had, such as series (I try not to say 'season', damn Americanisms!) box sets of things like 24 and Family Guy for between £6 and a tenner. I'm pathalogically bad at computer games that came out after Donkey Kong 64, so I couldn't tell you much about what games they've got, but there's a lot of them.
The selection of films they stock, considering they're all pre-owned is vast - everything from blockbusters to obscurities. There's also a membership scheme in the form of a small key fob which lets you exchange goods.
Before this place there was practically nowhere to buy DVDs in West Brom, certainly nowhere dedicated. Now all it needs is a bookshop and a proper record shop. read more
