To be honest this place is ok. Its good how you can get tons of games and tech for cheap prices at what I'd say is mint condition. My problem is due to the lack of space the place can get pretty crowded but apart from that it's ok. read more

This is a little gem. Although it is a games shop where you can buy playstation and various other…read moregames it is also a great place for a birthday party. I have an 8 year old who wanted a party there. Basically for £15 a head you get 10 children maximum that take over the shop - they shut the shop for this two hour period and you get to play on all the playstations, wii, xbox, etc and then there is a fun football challenge at the end with a prize for the over all winner. You get sausage and chips or something similar from the chip shop next door and the kids love it. The man who owns the shop is lovely and the guys he has working there are really helpful. The kids had a great time and that is the main thing.
DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO THIS SHOP FOR FIXING!!!…read more I took my sons computer for the HDMI port to be fixed. I was told on the phone that it would take two days and very straight forward. when I dropped it off it soon became known to me that he takes them to someone else to fix. This took a week unlike told on the phone two days. I collected it after a week and took it home. The HDMI was fixed, however it was now not playing discs as it had been the night before, I took it back to the shop. Richard would not take responsibility and even accused my son of not telling me it was originally broke. I had seen my son with my own eyes playing and he had received a trophy on the game the night before. Richard tried to say that you can play without a disk (anyone with a brain would know this is not possible because the game was not downloaded on the console). Due to me being female he tried to tell me that it is possible to play a game without the disc! Richard refused to fix the problem he had made and said I had to pay another £50 for it to be fixed. In total this cost me £125 for taking the console to this CON-ARTIST!!! When I got this home tonight my son noticed there have been three games used on his computer that he does not own! Richard was very rude on the phone and even tried to accuse my partner of being racist on the phone to him, unknown to him my partner is the same race and when i pointed this out he went very quiet. I have now found a reliable man who will fix your HDMI port for less money, less stress and guarantee not breaking it anymore. I just wish i had known about him before. He is situated at Mayplace, called Mathew and his contact number is 01322 522267. I would not recommend this man or shop for anything as he is capable of stealing parts from you console or using it in his shop while you think it is still being repaired. I have reported this to trading standards who are looking into this matter. please report to them if you have had similar experiences. I have since heard that this man does not have a good reputation and is known for never being open or returning calls. I would be very aware if you book a party and have to hand over a deposit. In case he is just not there on the day and your child like mine is left disappointed!!!

Wow. Just, wow! I decided to check this place out (due in now small part to the label "megastore"…read morein some directories). I was not disappointed. The location has two massive stories of wall-to-wall geeky joy. Books, action figures, art, video gaming goodness; it's got it all. I appreciated how everything was very well organized (largely by pop culture features/brands). It was so well organized that I didn't need to actually ask for any directions or help finding stuff.
Loved the selection of collectibles here! Loved that there are multiple locations for collectors.read more

Worst part though was the truly useless customer service when I contacted them to find out where the heck my stuff was. Confrontational, blame shifting and unable to even muster an apology or read my emails properly. I've spent €1,000s here in the past but they won't be getting a penny more from me. I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

And of course, that has direct repercussions on our household life. It means many hours walking by Games Workshop and Dark Sphere to pick up things for his army. It means many hours helping him paint tanks and aliens. It means bookshelves in our cramped apartment devoted to paints, men with little guns, and armored aliens. It means all of this to me. But of course so much more to my husband. With my husband's discovery of Dark Sphere, it means that he can now complete his army and get 25% off. Not only does that make him happy, that makes me happy too! Because that 25% in savings usually means treating me out to a nicely deserved weekly dinner for being a very tolerant wifey! (You can save 20% when dropping their shop, or 25% by ordering online, OR you can even order online and then pick up in their shop!) P.S. They're currently moving to a less crowded location! More gamey nerdiness on its way!

However, the purchase of a recent war game changed all that. I started going to bed at 2am. I'd try and play before work. I'd make excuses for missing rugby training. Imagine my shock, horror and crocodile tears when the xbox went and blew up?! Ok, so by this point the phase was over and I was playing only occasionally, BUT STILL! It blew up! I went in here with my cap in hand, crying to anyone who'd listen. Luckily someone did listen. He even empathised. I left Game with another xbox! Oops. Not a brand new one, but pre-owned machine with an extra cheeky £30 knocked off for good measure - he took pity on me. This Game has just earned my loyal custom. In fact when…read morerandom people come into shops trying to sell me their totally illicit film wares I'm generally always up for having a peek. There's a risk with the purchase though. Since I'm the most unlucky cookie on earth I tend to buy the bootleg DVD's that have been filmed in the movie theatre by some random person eating popcorn who decided that the best way to capture quality was to film the movie on his/her mobile phone. In these situations those bootlegs are complete rip-offs. If you don't want to face the agony of living through that possibility then come to Game Stop. They sell video games for all systems. Also, they trade your DVD's and games for store credit or cash, so if you want to get rid of that documentary on Little Richard's life story then this might be a good place to get that off your shoulders.

I was stuck in the UK without an adapter for my MacBook Air (yes, I'm an idiot) and this crowded little store had them for less than the price of my firstborn son. Seriously Apple, WTF is up with your exorbitant hardware prices? So I was able to save the day (and keep my job) with the help of the slightly overwhelmed, but generally nice, CeX staff. Yes, they'll hit you up to join their club or whatever corporate has them peddling, but they're forced to do that so I wouldn't hold it against them.
