So I signed up for 30 Spanish lessons through this school. First of all they sent me the workbooks that you could not open in my email. I sent numerous emails to the student affairs director asking him to resend the emails in a format I could open and he never sent to me plus you can never get anyone to answer at their school office When we started the first day of my online class, I told my Professor Kristina I did not have my work books she resent them to me in a format I could print out. I started out the classes seem to be going OK. I had to cancel one class because I was not feeling well. I only took six classes. I had two classes scheduled that Professor Kristina , she not get on the zoom call when I texted her why she was not on the zoom call she told me she completely forgot what day it was. How do you forget what day it is when you're supposed to be teaching a zoom class but that was exactly what she said. She said I'm so sorry. I didn't realize it was Tuesday today. I just forgot it was Tuesday and then again on a Thursday. She said oh I'm sorry I forgot we had class and then the following Friday, May 9. We were supposed to have a class 30 minutes before the class she called and said oh I'm sorry I have a meeting that's come up. I have to cancel the class so I did six classes and I paid for 30 so I sent an email requesting a refund because this is my time I work a full-time job and I said I would look elsewhere to take Spanish classes. Also, Professor Kristina I heard so much about her family living in Washington and that she might be moving to Washington while I'm supposed to be paying for Spanish class many times she would just talk start talking in Spanish. I had no idea what she was saying I could have to ask her to please translate. Also, she had a whiteboard behind her that she wouldn't write things on, and she would ride on it and she was sitting in front of the whiteboard so you couldn't really see sometimes what she was riding on not a good experience. I wish I would've read the comments before I joined the school because now I've read other comments about professor Kristina, which were not good comments. Obviously she's not a good teacher. I've read the comments on yelp and also Google reviews and professor Kristina does not have good reviews They informed me they have a no refund policy. How convenient for them to just forget about classes, cancel classes at the last minute when I work a full-time job and I set my schedule for these classes how convenient for them to do, then say oh did you not read? We don't do refunds I think it's very very convenient for them And I said well then I will contact American Express and I will then have to leave reviews about this and they sent me a very nasty email saying we don't appreciate a threat. I didn't know when you write a review about a public company was a threat. All I can say is, I would not recommend this language school to anyone I would not take classes with them the professor that taught me she totally forgot two days that we have a class and again how do you forget that you have a class and you're a professor supposedly Kristina has got 30 years experience maybe she's forgetful and then you cancel 30 minutes before a class again I'm speaking with American Express but I would just advise anybody looking at the school don't sign up. There's other places to take classes. You can never get anybody on the phone and when you do try to call the school the person that answers the phone was Kristina. It's like a one woman show There's nobody to answer this phone. There's nobody when you go to their office. It's like the one professor, Kristina, I guess she kind of runs it but anyways I'm dealing with American Express because I'm not paying for 30 classes when I took six but be very very cautious. If you decide to take classes from this school be very cautious I would look for other schools that teach Spanish. Kristina also told me she might be going to Washington in May so she didn't know if she was still gonna be my professor or not. I don't know what that exactly meant but just be aware that there are other language classes out there this is not I don't think a professional reputable language class and like I said, you can never get anybody on the phone except Kristina I think all the calls go to her home phone number or her house and I keep getting an email from some student affairs Director, Ramon , who I have asked numerous times to call me. His name was Ramon. Well guess what? I never get a phone call so again I would never never recommend Ceves Spanish language Schools. I'm sorry, but Kristina is not a good professor. I say she did to me exactly what she's done to other people when I read their reviews, but I will get my money back, but like I said, do not do not take classes from this school you'll be very sorry you did. read more

This is a great Spanish school. After many failed attempts to learn Spanish, it's the first place that's helped me to see Spanish as a language rather than just words that I don't understand. After taking the beginners fast track I'm signing up to do the intermediate. Cristina who is a fantastic and experienced professor, knows how people learn and takes time to understand each students challenges and adapts to them. You have to spend time outside of class to practice with the course material which is very comprehensive. read more

What a nightmare. Cristina is terrible! She is impatient and rude. I moved from Canada and signed up thinking this was going to be a wonderful match for me. She spent my first class defending her past bad reviews (and I didn't even ask about them so it should have been my first sign of trouble). I unfortunately bought into her story that they were students just not interested in learning. Turns out she is combative and is awful at teaching. She put me in a class with someone more advanced than me and went only at their pace (who also agreed that her teaching was counter productive to any type of learning or growth) and would get angry at me when I couldn't keep up. She would literally raise her voice and stare me down with this crazy angry expression. She would tell me I wasn't ready and that I wasn't learning. I explained myself to her and had conversations that this is not helpful and that she needed to be more patient with me as I was beginner and just learning and that she was moving to quickly for me. She was more than eager to turn around and tell me I wasn't putting in the work it takes to learn a new language. She would tell me I wasn't ready and skip over me intentionally when it was my turn because as I was trying to translate what she said in my head she was too busy being upset with me. And I will tell you I did my homework before class every night. She spends a lot of time talking about her own life, experience and daughter. Which is nice to get to know your teacher and It's fine to talk about personal things but not when I am paying for "academic hours" with her. This is NOT a beginners class she has no patience whatsoever. She is insulting and has no business teaching anything. I made it all the way to the end regardless of all of this but the last day I just couldn't stand to see her anymore it had gotten that bad. I researched other schools and the only reason I didn't sign up was that is was expensive. But I wish I had because for the money I spent at Ceves I learned nothing at all. I have been using duo lingo and Rosetta Stone and am doing pretty well now. read more

This is the worst experience I've had in a long time. The teacher, Cristina, hardly speaks a word of English and spends 90% of the time talking AT the class in Spanish. This is definitely not the Beginner's Class it is pitched as. She is condescending and made me feel too intimidated to ask a question. When I'd finally had enough of her rudeness half way through the 2nd class I walked out. What a dreadful, nasty woman. She should stay out of education...it's completely incompatible with her narcissistic personality. Don't waste your money. read more

I took the one on one class with Cristina. She is a great teacher who genuinely wants her students to succeed. There is a lot of outside of class work to be done, but if you want to learn a language you have to put in the work of course. I came in with a pretty decent understanding of the language and wanted to fine tune my skills, and this Spanish school is perfect for that. read more

I looked all over Miami for a Spanish class. I looked at traditional schools, week long intensives, and finally decided on Ceves. The teacher, Cristina convinced me her methods would teach me Spanish faster and more easily than traditional approaches. While I was sceptical, I trusted my gut and jumped in feet first. Immediately I knew I made the right choice. Cristina is not only a Spanish teacher, her background in linguistics enriches each lesson so you truly understand why the language works as it does. She is a deeply caring person and truly wants her students to learn. I've found Cristina to be skilled in adapting her pace and style of teaching to her students abilities and varied backgrounds. On days where I came to class with a greater base of knowledge we moved quickly, in areas that I struggled she slowed down and found the most effective way for me to understand. She is always encouraging even when I feel foolish and makes class fun. I completed 40 hours of class so far and the speed and depth at which I learned far exceeded my expectations. read more

This is an amazing Spanish course. The notes are so organized and we even get books to read (beginner) that are challenging but also helpful. I have learned a great deal in my 2 Spanish courses so far. This course has definitely motivated me to continue learning Spanish. I would highly recommend it! I was in class with Lisa B. below. She did not study the material and therefore was obviously behind at the following class. You cannot learn a language by just going to class. There is work to do at home and if you do not do it, don't complain about being behind! If you do all the work that is given and come to class, this course will definitely help you reach a competent level of Spanish. read more

The teacher with this school Cristina is a super educator!!! I finished the first course and am now in the second class. She has a deep knowledge and understanding of how to communicate and efficiently help each student progress in learning Spanish. She pushes us in a kind and patient way... even when we get frustrated with ourselves! The classes are fun and challenging as any good course is. My Spanish and confidence has progressed a lot! I was also in the class that this lady Lisa B. was in, and she is completely wrong in her opinion. Lisa was not open enough to want to learn this language once there were challenges and she was not willing to get through them. I am sad for her. She missed out. But she should not hinder others in learning a language at this affordable and efficient school. Plus she cannot judge a course and teacher based off of an initial 1.5 classes. Lisa was already frustrated from the beginning. I recommend taking this class and have already told my friends to do it too! read more

I have taken Cristina's classes for more almost 2 years. I drive from Boca Raton to Miami to attend her classes....she's that good. I learn better in a non-traditional classroom environment. I've tried everything to learn Spanish with Rosetta Stone, websites, Adult education, etc and was just never getting anywhere. I learned more from this class by going 1x week than I was able to learn over many many years. She teaches you ways to understand how the language is spoken so it makes it easier to speak and put sentences together. I'll be back to her for sure! Gracias CEVES! read more

Ceves is a great school. Cristina is a great professor who truly cares. She has been teaching for a very long time and understands how to quickly and efficiently teach spanish. I took private lessons and learned in a matter of a few months. I'd recommend her to anyone. The materials are great and her passion drives you to want to succeed. read more
