Yesterday's appointment at C'est La Vie Salon was perfection thanks to William. His energy, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire experience so enjoyable. He really listened to what I wanted and brought it to life beautifully! Both the cut and dimensional color are flawless. I felt relaxed, heard, and so happy walking out refreshed. I genuinely enjoyed every ounce of my time there and will absolutely be back to see William! read more

Will is fantastic! Prices are reasonable for the same quality as the high end salons in town. I get regular cuts and highlights twice a year. It's an old building, so not the fluff of a high end place, but who cares if the cuts and service are great. Be generous in tipping because you could be paying a lot more. read more

What a great hair cut! I have been going to the same person (love her) for many years. After relocating to Destin I was worried (even though I don't have that much hair left) about switching to someone else. It's very easy to get comfortable and be nervous about a change. From the moment I stepped in I felt that this was my new place. Heather did a great job, and the VERY BEST scalp massage that is worth the price of the hair cut. Overall great experience and would highly recommend if you need to go once or looking for a regular place to visit. 5 star. read more

Came in with pictures hoping for a dramatic ombre. Ended up with heavy highlights. At least they looked good, though not what I asked for at all. So I called the manager hoping to give them a second chance to get it right. Went to a different stylist with the same set of pictures. When he started blow drying my hair I was in disbelief. The top of my head was black and the rest was blonde. I was visibly in shock. He put another layer to make it more of a transition, or so he said. It looked exactly the same. I haven't left my house without a hat since. It's embarrassing, and obviously I will be getting it fixed by a different salon since this one is so incompetent. read more

I was recommended to come by a friend. William was my stylist and we really had a great understanding on what I wanted. Of course with the lighting I couldn't tell how the turn out was. I originally wanted my whole head to be a dark red but it's now orange only on the top of my head and not the whole. I didn't want to go back because my hair would of been more damaged , as it is right now and I'm so upset. It's fried and ruined . Luckily my roommate does hair so she gets to fix this mess ! read more

I totally cheated on the hairdresser I've been with forever and came here to see Heather. She was highly recommended to me by someone I have always thought had great style and great hair. Turns out Heather has been doing her hair for years, why didn't I ask her sooner? Needless to say I'm very happy with my cut and color. I only gave her a vague idea of what I wanted and let her work her magic. I really felt her technique was artful, like a graceful Edward Scissorhands. **Today, I came back for a root touch-up from Loren and a trim from Heather and once again leaving very happy! You will pay a premium here, but it is so worth it. read more

Male grooming. It can be as baffling a subject to us men as female erogenous zones. And while I may have become (at least somewhat) adept at more than a few of these (the grooming, not the zones...Yelp doesn't do those kind of reviews), I realized a few days ago that my magnificent beard had become unruly in its six month span of sprinting towards the goal of Ultimate Manliness. Yet I was hesitant to attack with either scissors or clippers, as the enormity of the task at hand was too much for me to attempt while standing in front of my bathroom mirror. And so I called C'est la Vie. Why, you ask? Yelp. I gave Gary carte blanche in the spirit of the business's motif and he attacked my beard without fear. In the end, it was transformed into a beautifully shaped and squared swath of virile real estate that I now jut out to the world with the utmost confidence. Gary also gave me a great hair cut, since the weather is cooling and I no longer need to wear it so short. Although I was secretly hoping to look like George Clooney a la Ocean's 13, I came out like George Clooney circa Ocean's 11. Close, so close. As a man, I proclaim this a great place to get your hair, both scalp and facial, tamed, shaped and made to look like you're wearing it intentionally. Get cleaned up. Be sharp. This is the place. read more

Absolutely NOT recommending them!!! I made an appointment in the morning and I was told they had a 1pm, 1:45pm and a 2pm open. I chose the 1:45pm. I got there 5 minutes early and was seated in a waiting area. The place was dirty and a very unfriendly atmosphere... but I was desperate so I waited. After 20 minutes the stylist came to tell me she would be right with me...25 minutes after that I left!!!! So disappointing!!! read more

I was here over a month ago, but it was so fantastic that I had to share! Loren was fabulous! I was in the area for vacation and desperately needed a haircut. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but described to Loren what I was looking for. She did an amazing job! Not only was the cut fabulous, but just talking and relaxing was great. Love the atmosphere of the place, too! read more

What a wonderful place. My hair was a disaster and I didn't have much hope, but the staff was brilliant. Gary, my stylist was a pro. After the initial consultation he knew right what to do. The process was pleasant & relaxing. The place is also super cute! End result, I was so happy I got a little teary. You won't be disappointed!! read more

Loren did a great job. I have fine thin hair and after color it felt better than before. My cut was spot on for my hair. Thanks so much. I can't tell you how many times I've cried after leaving a salon. You did the best job ever! read more

My hair turned out fantastic! I felt so comfortable at this salon. All the ladies are really nice and accommodating. Ashley took the time to go through all my wants and the end result I was looking for before she ever started the process. I will be going back soon! read more

This is the PERFECT salon! Every single person was charming and fun to be around. They made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Lauren is a hair genius. She took her time with me and genuinely cared about how I felt about my hair. She recommended products without being pushy and was right on with her recommendations. I will always go here for my hair care. If you are looking for top quality service AND top quality people, this is the place to go! read more

I went here on my annual spring break trip since I haven't had time to get my hair done in Atlanta, and I am thrilled with the results. Not only did Ashley do a great job on my hair, it was also a super fun place to hang out for the afternoon. Everyone is super nice and talkative. Considering the big city prices I'm used to paying, this place is that quality or better for a much better price. I will look forward to coming back here next time I am in Destin. Ashley fixed up my balayage that had turned a nasty brassy color and also gave me a great cut and style. Great way to spend a cloudy afternoon! read more

I'm not loyal to many 'service' providers, but I've been going to C'est la Vie Salon for over 3 years and I know I will get a great color and cut every time. The salon is friendly and all the stylists extraordinary. They're all Paul Mitchell trained, in other words, they're always going back for more training and they train others. You won't be disappointed! read more

Both the services (cuts, colors, styles) and the atmosphere are what makes this salon so special. When I visit I feel like I'm seeing my old friends and catching up while getting my hair done. Loren is my stylist and I love the care she takes in making sure I get a great cut and color. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. New to Destin and Loren was amazing and took a lot of time with me going over what I was looking for. She was so knowledgeable about everything and very caring. I highly recommend asking for Loren when u go here. read more

I was in town for a month. Have short hair so couldn't wait to get home to get my hair cut. After reading reviews, decided to try Loren. I am so glad I did. Not only is she delightful, but she gives a fabulous hair cut. She gave me exactly what I wanted. Not sure how I'm going to get my husband to let me come to Destin every six weeks for a hair cut, but if I could, I would. read more

The only place to go for your hair, period! I have been to most of the well known salons in the area and this, hands down, is the best! If you want perfect, cool blonde highlights with lowlights that actually last, a perfect cut and a head massage that will almost induce coma...ask for Ashley or Allen! read more

I had a corrective color here about two weeks ago by Allen. WORST decision ever! After spending almost $200, I left the salon with gray hair. Allen told me that after I washed it, it would be the bright pretty blonde I wanted. He told me that the gray was due to the purple toner he had put in my hair. After I washed it, it turned ORANGE and brassy. My hair was brassy to begin with and is the reason I needed the corrective coloring. I showed Allen a picture of what I wanted, which was dark blonde hair with light blonde highlights. I might as well not have shown him a picture at all because it looked NOTHING like that. I left with a gray tint to my hair and am too young to have a gray tint. Once I washed my hair, it was ORANGE. I didn't spend $200 to be left with an even WORSE outcome. I called Heather to tell her what happened. Heather told me that I could come in and she would wash my hair for me and show me how it turns blonde after (which was ridiculous to me seeing as how I had just washed it and it was now orange). She said that she wouldn't be able to fix what Allen had done until a week later. I told her that I didn't pay $200 to walk around with ORANGE hair for a WEEK. She rushed me off the phone and said she would call me back. It's been two weeks and she NEVER called me back. She won't return any of my voicemails and no one will answer my calls there. She hasn't refunded my $200. NOTHING. WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT GO HERE! Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Great place! Ask for Meggie! I have very long hair and have always been very particular on who cuts it. About a year ago I went to this location due to reviews and was not disappointed. Meggie did a wonderful job. A year later I went back and had Meggie again. Was not disappointed. Definitely come check this place out. read more

Great salon and will become my go-to place from here on out. I saw Allen for a haircut and he did a wonderful job. He created the look I wanted and added his own perspective to it, which adds up to one of the best haircuts I have had in a while. This is a Paul Mitchell Salon, meaning the staff is constantly beefing up their skills to match the latest trends and their products are effective, yet affordable. The space is neat and eclectic at the same time, while the staff is friendly and helpful. Go check out C'est La Vie Salon ASAP! read more

I have been to this Salon several times over the last 2-3 years while taking some time off. Until then, I was totally unaware of the art of a hairdresser. The skill level , experience and style of Heather and her staff clearly enable them to be leaders in their industry. I look forward to getting a cut every time Im in Destin. Thanks !!! read more

Really awesome experience. I made an appointment with Allen because the last stylist I went to gave me orange hair. He not only fixed it and made the color gorgeous, but he moisturized and repaired the dryness. And now I can't keep my hands out it! But seriously, he knows what he's doing and obviously has a passion for hair. So lucky to have found him! read more

I'm an out of towner and decided to come in for hair color and cut as a treat. Gary was my stylist. He was so friendly as was everyone else in the salon. Gary explained everything to me as we went along. The cut was great! I didn't exactly get the color I wanted but it looks good. I wish I would of explained better. I did show pix tho... Not sure what went wrong. read more

Down in Destin on vacation and decided to treat myself. So so happy with the finished product! Upon arrival I was checked in quickly and offered a drink. I didn't have to wait very long until Allen came in and we chatted about what I was thinking. This was my first time coloring my hair so I was a little nervous. We looked at some pictures I brought and we were off! Allen was very knowledgeable and explained things to me as he went along. While I was processing, I was offered another drink and the entire staff was very nice! The process went very well and I am so, so, happy with the results. I wish I lived here so I could be a regular at C'est la Vie. Highly recommended!!!! read more

The WORST customer service. Screwed up a color and now it's orange. Manager Wont return calls or voice mails. It's been 2 weeks. If they screw your hair up you will be paying for another PROFESSIONAL salon to fix it. read more
