She listened so carefully to what I wanted, offered great suggestions, and somehow managed to make my vision even better than I imagined. This is a mixed review, I do plan to go back to this salon for future services. Environmentally the inside of the salon is delightful & conveniently located to me in the plaza just north of McDonald's. My appointment was for a shape up cut & blow dry.The cut was/is great & I like & enjoyed the banter with the stylist unfortunately I have several issues with the styling. I did have a pic of how I style & I wear my very short hair. Oddly the styling chairs do not align with the mirror so you cannot intervene or comment during the styling process. By the time I saw the mirror my hair was virtually plastered to my head NO VOLUME, no style even though I heard the blow dryer & felt the use of a round brush. Since I live in Shalimar I was able to go home brush out the Hurricane hair spray add volume & style before meeting with friends for lunch. One more what would have been a very embarrassing issue! Seems the products used the wash/condition my hair did not get washed out of my left ear leaving a dried white-ish crusty clump. read more

I would have taken her up on her offer, but I had already left the state. I appreciate her diligence in making sure that all of her customers are satisfied. Had looked this salon up over a year ago when I needed to get highlights done on short notice, but couldn't get an appt before my upcoming engagement. Unfortunately, went to 3 other stylists who were a mix of disaster and mediocrity before finally coming back round here to see Lacy. After spending hours looking at pictures from stylists all over Okaloosa County, could easily see that she had the most impressive body of work and was just what I needed. Great salon atmosphere with inviting decor. My appt was end of day, so I felt like I had kept her there kind of late. Come to find out, she owns the salon and has certainly done a fine job with this little hidden Shalimar gem. They have lots of high-end products, including Color Wow Dream Coat, etc. And Lacy was very friendly and fun to talk to--even though I probably talked all 10 a' her ears off ;'D I had gotten a partial highlight and cut done, which I'm very pleased with--but realized that I just needed slightly more in front for a money-piece area around the face. After 2 other stylists had fried my fine hair to the point that I'd had to let it grow out for a year, I really appreciated how conservative she was. And the same was true for the cut. Many stylists don't even bother asking before jumping straight in for that chop ‍‍*_*' =P Lacy was super understanding and fit me in for a quick touch up just a few days later. I was visiting my son for the Thanksgiving holiday and I needed a haircut. I look for a hair salon in yelp and I came across , "Painted Rose Salon". I called in and since I was a first time client I had to pay 50% of the service, which was fine with me. Joy was my hair stylist; She was wonderful with a bubbly personality. She gave me the best A line/ bob hair cut ever! She is very knowledgeable, she took in consideration the shape of my skull, (she blew me away). she shampoo my hair and cut my hair in 40 minutes, time record for me, because my regular hair stylist in California take 1 1/2 hours. Joy is an expert! Everyone in this salon is very, very friendly. I highly recommend, Painted Rose Salon. Forgot to mentioned that the Alice in wonderland decoration was a plus for me. I love my haircut, too bad I have to go back to California to my regular hair stylist. read more

Went here today for the first time. Was offered a drink, water, soda, coffee bar or wine(lots of different types). Plus nuts, chocolate covered almonds or raisins. The place is lovely. Very clean. Very sweet ladies. Felt comfortable and very welcome unlike some salons who almost make you feel like an imposition. Well, Yasmin was my stylist. She was so sweet and lovely as well as knowledgeable and talented. Got base color on graying hair, highlights and wash, cut and blow out on my long frizzy curly hair. I love it!!! Yasmin is wonderful, and she gave me the best scalp massage I've ever had! She did an amazing job on my hair and was so accommodating. She was sure to show me every product she used on my hair as well as describe what they were for. I have a very sensitive scalp and she made sure to be extra careful and gentle. Got my first real haircut here big step for me I had veryyyyy long hair all my life and decided to chop it all off , I was terrified I would look chubbier with the short hair but both Kendra & Lacy assured me the length I was going to was going to be flattering so i was already put at ease before the chopping began , my stylist was Kendra and she was super sweet & funny , as were everyone else in the shop , great atmosphere, shop is so cute Alice in wonderland themed & they offer coffee & wine , highly recommend this place I'll be going back for color next time read more

Elyssa was my stylist and she did magic on my hair which was long overdue for a revamp. Her knowledge and advice was comforting since I have had many hair horror stories, before coming here. I was met at the door and greeted with beautiful people who went all out to make sure I was very comfortable.
