    Daytime view

I love the views from this park! Daytime is nice and the sunsets here are stunning. There is fishing and on the weekends especially you will see a good amount of people fishing. The paved path around the lake offers great views and is nice for walking, running or biking. The entire loop is about 1 mile. There is plenty of parking. I feel like lately the park has been better maintained and cleaner. Sometimes the goose poop can build up on the paved pathway but it seems lately this has been under better control. I love this park and the fact that it's just down the street!

Beautiful spacious park with gorgeous Mountain views of South Mountain and the Sierra Estrella. Lots of water, lakes, and old growth trees.

I've been local to the area, for eel forever and I can say that this party has it amenities from time to time, but isn't all that great. Despite its size, Lake, and proximity to a public library, there's trash littered everywhere and at times not so great people hanging around. I wouldn't not recommend going to this place at night. If you were looking for a more nature-style park or even a hike, go to Papago or South Mountain.

They have a nice fishing pond stocked with fish. It's a family friendly environment. Just an enjoyable experience to sit and relax to the sounds of the water. The fish "bite" at this pond. This park have so much to offer I'll have to explore on my next visit.

I really enjoy coming to this park. It's got a super relaxing vibe about it. I usually go with my dogs & walk around the entire perimeter and enjoy seeing others picnicking and fishing or feeding the ducks. It's summer now so not too busy in the heat of the day but I don't mind that at all. It's a park that's got alot to offer with it's baseball fields, golf nearby, dog park, fishing, picnicking, what more could you ask for.

Really nice park. Beautiful lake. Very peaceful. You can almost forget you are in Phoenix.

01/31/10 Thought I'd update w/ newer pics. Weekends pack in the multi-cultural families that live in the area. Love how it's a lot emptier during the week. Nightfall brings shadier-looking individuals, however, and I'm less-likely to stay past dusk :( BTW, there is an area w/in the park that I believe was poorly-planned. I hope that city/park officials see to its amendment soon.

Park is wonderful. It's always clean and inviting. Whether you see families at BBQ grills or little ones on the equipment, you feel comfortable. I like to bring dried bread-things for the geese and ducks. They are always happy I did...hahah. I also like to walk the lake and get in a mile around (marked on the ground).

I love this park for the views (trees water ducks etc.) there is a track around the whole lake which is shared by both fishers, runners, walkers and bikers. lots of benches and tables for a picnic or gathering. there is a playground for the kids which could be bigger but the kids still love it. The park has a few thing around it which makes it nice. The libery, a golf coarse and some baseball fields are really close. If you are having one of those days take some time for yourself walk around the lake and unwind! Oh yea about the fishing been there a few time to fish and must say not the best fishing but what the heck. well hope this helped.

I recently found out there was a dog park here at Caesar Chavez park. It located south of the skate park and if you drive by you'd never think it was there. It probably under a year old. There is parking on the east side of the dog park. They have two areas: one area for big dogs and one area for little dogs. I'm still trying to find a time when a lot of people bring their dogs so I can take my dogs to play with. It seems like Saturday about noon is a good time. We were there today and there were at least 10 dogs there at one time which I thought was really cool.

Ah an inch of the beauty that is cesar chavez

There are separate areas for big dogs and smaller, more timid ones, but the area for the small dogs is still pretty spacious. The grass is well maintained, even in the dead of summer, and there are a handful of young trees offering a bit of shade. For a wide open area, it surprised me that there weren't more trees sprinkled about. There are only 3 benches for owners to relax while pups are goin wild, two of which are right at the park entrance. In my experience, not the best place to put benches because inevitably people and dogs tend to hang out there, which causes some commotion as dogs are trying to come in and out. There's a water spigot for you to refill water for your pups, but only one small metal bowl for everyone to share. I'd recommend bringing your own water dish, and I usually just bring my own water too. We'll likely be back, as it's probably one of the nicer and bigger parks in this part of the valley.

The first time, the stall I went into ran out of toilet paper, but someone had left a bunch in there from another stall. There was only one sink, and the faucet is the kind that you press then let go and it should run for a short time. But this faucet stopped as soon as you let go. Fortunately I always carry hand sanitizer with me. Later I had to use the restroom again, and only the same stall was available. This time there was zero toilet paper. The bathroom was not like in the worst condition ever, but they should at least make sure the bathroom is stocked with toilet paper, especially when they know a tournament or other sports event is scheduled that day.
