First allow me to say I have the upmost respect for Mr. Cervoni and staff. About a year ago I was contemplating on filing for disability after working for a very strenuous, physical, and demanding job for 35 years. I am not one to quit as I tried several work attempts to continue my job after taking time off but my back and lower extremities we're really taking a toll on me which made it hard to function outside of work let alone working 14 hours a day at times. I decided to call Mr. Cervoni's Law Firm just to get a feel of what to do as I knew nothing about this process. Derek politely and calmly give me every answer I needed with no pressure at all, as a matter of fact I even tried going back to work after giving him the information an indication I was going through with this case, I took his time and he was more than patient with me. I think this is another reason I called him back after my last work attempt. Mr. Cervoni asked me a few questions to get the initial application started and to submit a few forms, then he took over right away. Between Derek and Michael, both always promptly answered my replies or emails with issues that sometimes weren't even relevant enough for the case, but made me feel at ease anyway and extremely professional and courteous. They were very descriptive and detailed of what they needed from me and if I didn't completely understand they would walk me through it with no problem. Filing for disability is extremely difficult and technical and if any mistakes are made, it could prolong or even have your case denied. I believe it is extremely important to have professional help in this matter and Derek Cervoni is that man. I was awarded with the first initial application of which I heard is rather rare. I was speechless and relieved to say the least! I would highly suggest using this firm for any type of disability through SSA or disability period! The man knew every question I threw at him with great detail and confidence. I can only imagine him in action at a hearing, even though ours didn't make it that far. I cannot thank him enough for what he and his staff has done for me and my family in such a short time.I was made to feel completely comfortable throughout the process with a lot of compassion expressed from Derek towards the disabled and special needs. Thank you Derek and Michael! You changed my life for the better! R.Matvich read more

As someone who was indigent and homeless at this time one year ago and with several co-occurring medical conditions, I was experiencing multiple challenges around this time last year. Several law practices were not able to take on new cases given the size of their caseloads or their preference for taking a case only on appeal. However, with the Cervoni law practice, he was able and willing to take my case from the time of the initial filing without all of the prerequisites being demanded from other law practices. My case was favorably decided in less than four months. Furthermore, after having been ostracized from the county of my childhood, I was then able to get housed in a more sympathetic county along with now having income to support myself all thanks to the professional case review and support which I was able to receive from Mr. Cervoni during the most difficult times of my life. Moreover, the fact that Mr. Cervoni was familiar with many of my clinicians, practitioners, and facilities where I received care, all of that just made for a very smooth and harmonious user experience. Finally, Derek's familiarity with the local DDS and their local SSA offices made for an even smoother process which I would have never been able to navigate by myself. I consequently recommend Mr. Cervoni as the best disability attorney whom one can work with on any given appropriate and suitable disability claim. And I do look forward to working with him again in the future should that very need arise. read more

Derek is Awesome! I have applied for mental health disability on my own the 1st time and was denied. The whole process was overwhelming to me, so I did not appeal it. I then ran across a YouTube video of Derek S. Cervoni... I was sold. After watching his video, I was actually relieved, I had found my attorney. I contacted him the very next day and the process of filing for disability began again only this time I felt good about it. Derek took all my info and went to work right away filing everything that was needed for me. He and his office did 90% of the work for me. When you are sick, it's difficult to figure out how/where/when to deal with all the government websites, forms to fill out, etc. All of that gets very overwhelming. Mr. Cervoni made it easy, and kept me updated on the progress on a regular and timely fashion. All I had to do was sign some papers and return them. Everything was done either by phone or through email until the actual court date for my hearing. We Won!! I truly believe if it were not for Mr. Cervoni's help, my life would be quite different now days. I can not say enough about this man and the services he provided to me. I Highly recommend him for any disability claim whether it's physical or psychological... He's the One!! ~Dale T read more

Derek Cervoni assisted my wife and I with our claim for Social Security disability benefits after brain aneurism. Derek was one of 3 lawyers referred to us by Brain Injury Services, and after researching our options, we opted for Cervoni Disability Law practice. And very pleased we did. We were told that navigating the Social Security Administration process for disability in Virginia was very time consuming, tedious and at times, confusing. Derek Cervoni's knowledge on the process and also the inner workings of the administration, made the process effortless. He took the time to explain at length (more than once) how the process works, what to expect and when to expect it. It was a long process, but Derek Cervoni was there every step of the way, and always responded to questions/requests in a very timeous fashion. After using another company to file for social security disability and being denied benefits several times, I finally smartened up after almost four years and hired Mr.Cervoni for my hearing. Let me tell you...it was a decision I should've made years ago had I been better informed. Mr. Cervoni agreed to take on my case despite my complex medical history and from the beginning, was always very compassionate, well-informed, and responsive. Mr. Cervoni prepared me for my hearing as best he could and even with an assigned judge who frankly said he "didn't believe someone so young could be so sick", we won the appeal. I owe it all to Mr. Cervoni and I would recommend him and his law firm one hundred times over if I could! If you're debating hiring an attorney, please take my advice and hire Cervoni Disability Law... the only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. read more

Awesome litigator! I thought navigating and applying for SSDI would be similar to that of the VA benefits. It was not. Although 100% P&T, I was denied initial SSDI benefits. I researched Mr. Cervoni's record and contacted his office. His staff was pleasant and very helpful right out the gate. He accepted my case. I didn't look back; however, I was amazed at how swift and un-stressful my hearing was. After months of waiting, my case was over in less than 20 minutes. Mr. Cervoni was prepared to the point the SSA expert witnesses had no rebuttals. Would I recommend Mr. Cervoni? Yes, without hesitation. However, I would also recommend you as the client to help yourself out in advance by seeing the doctor(s),start gathering your medical records, and research all disabilities being claimed. read more

Mr. Cervoni was an excellent choice to handle my disability appeal before an administrative law judge. He is a specialist with years of experience in the field (he had even previously appeared before the ALJ who caught my case); he adapted quickly to the changes in the appeals process caused by the covid pandemic (such as telephone-only hearings and appeals being handled by judges located in other states not even adjacent to Virginia); he got to know my case by reading the material I had already submitted in my initial application so that I didn't have to explain the details to him on the phone; using his office technology for uploading new documents was intuitive and glitch-free; and he always kept me updated on developments and responded promptly to my requests for information. read more
